Four Weddings, Monday 9pm, Living TV

Everybody knows the best thing about a wedding is the chance to rip it unceremoniously to pieces afterwards. Whether it be the bride’s OTT meringue-like wedding dress or the ill-advised choice of Slipknot’s ‘People = S***’ as the first dance, we all love a good post-nuptial gossip. And with this in mind, Living TV has commissioned a Come Dine With Me-esque wedding show, where a selection of Bridezillas rate and slate each other’s big days, and the winner takes off on a dream honeymoon.
So far, so good, but it seems most of the budget was blown on all-inclusive, five-star holidays in the Seychelles, leaving just a couple of hundred quid to make the actual programme – and it seriously suffers as a result. There’s no shortage of material to work with, and people like Page 3 stunna Mel – who releases a basket full of doves on her big day – are comedy open goals. Sadly, the ball’s invariably hoofed into the crowd every time.
Worse still is the narrator. Steve ‘Sparky’ Parker has clearly been asked to ape CDWM’s Dave Lamb as much as he possibly can, with disastrous results, lacking as he does any of his opposite number’s warmth or, more importantly, wit. Although all the ingredients for a brilliant show are there – a glamour model bride and her shiny-suited groom, an African-themed wedding with spiced gizzard on the reception menu, and a big-bellied husband-to-be in a pink Stetson and a negligee – Sparky barely raises a titter.
In the end, truck-driving party girl Amanda won out, despite choosing to wear an unconventional scarlet-coloured dress on her big day purely so she could have her first dance to the sickly Chris de Burgh schmooze-athon ‘Lady in Red’. Everyone else, including the viewer, was left decidedly short-changed.

Great TV show, you can never have too many reality tv shows.

I'm absolutely sick of reality shows is this what we pay our tv licenses for? I can't believe such crap is on our tv and what does it say about the sort of people who want to make a mockery of their wedding day. what a load of rubbish. Put some decent programs back on.
