Coleen's Real Women, Tuesday, ITV2
Posted by Liberty Jones
For the past eight weeks, fashionista Coleen Rooney has been pitting "real women" against professional models in an attempt to secure advertising campaigns with a string of high-profile brands. Last night, the stakes were even higher as three of the winners jetted to New York in the hope of winning the ultimate prize – a contract with top model agency Premier.
At 5ft 10ins, 21-year-old student Laura had height on her side, not to mention the confidence and swishy blonde hair of a pro. But the face of Toni and Guy failed to endear herself to Premier casting director Anthony on their first meeting. "When she walked in here, she greeted me like an old friend, then she started telling me what to do," he grumbled. Laura's over-familiarity also proved a stumbling block during the rooftop photo shoot as she bombarded photographer Amelia with questions, instead of waiting for instructions. "It's just nerves," said Coleen, protective as a mother hen.
Faring better was young mum Sarah, winner of the Sony campaign. Perfectly proportioned and stunningly pretty, she wowed Anthony and his fellow judge, Gucci model Lisa Winkler, with her focus and ability to take direction. The bad news? At just 5ft 3ins, she's an Oompa Loompa compared to most catwalk models.
After a radical new hairdo, courtesy of one of Manhattan's top salons, 24-year-old Caroline (the face of Holiday Skin) looked like a younger, prettier Sadie Frost as she posed for the camera. Anthony was impressed with the self-professed tomboy's bone structure and long legs, but the photographer struggled to get the best from her.
The final verdict was a nail-biting affair. Coleen blushed fetchingly as she made a last, impassioned plea to Anthony. One got the feeling she'd grown really close to her three protégées and was desperate to see them succeed. She looked as if she was about to burst into tears when Anthony revealed that none of the contenders had won the coveted contract, saying: "They all had good qualities, but none had the full package."
We were absolutely gutted for the girls, all of whom had come such a long way. Despite Mrs Rooney's best efforts, it seems there isn't room in the fashion world's upper echelons for anyone who deviates from the industry standard after all.

They call it "Real Women" to try and get an "Average Joe" into the world and, apparently, coveted world of the supermodel. As for Skinny Real Woman, larger people are constantly the butt of everyones jokes, so if calling themselves that makes them feel better then who are you to judge it? There is no need to get upset over a comment that has no bearing on you, in fact it is generally used to describe all kinds of women, curvy, slender, not just fat women.

I thought they were suppost to be "real women"! They're 21 year olds, who are skinny! I'm sorry but real women are 30 odd year olds, who have respectable jobs, and a family! Coleen and her sidekick have seen women who are chunky, but said "Her boobs are too big" or "Her face is too chubby"! Maybe you should call the program, "Coleen's skinny women", because if you call the girls that have been put through to go to New York "real", then i'm the Queen's mother!!!!
