I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, Monday 8.30pm, ITV1
Posted by Tom Murphy

After hostilities in the camp had been suspended the previous day, even Nicola McLean was looking to increase the peace, accepting David Van Day's olive branch and agreeing at least to tolerate him for the good of the group. As the sun shone down on the camp, they rubbed in each other's sunblock before setting off together on their quest for the Celebrity Chest. And this is where things got really strange...
While David's flirting became a little painful during the task – washing muck off a Land Rover to reveal padlock combinations – it was off-camera that the real drama took place. When they got back to camp, Nicola revealed to the staggered Joe Swash that David has suggested they flirt tactically to gain a bit of airtime and gang up on Joe, who he thought would now probably be the favourite to win.
Joe felt angry and betrayed, and the jovial banter between the erstwhile EastEnder and the former burger-flipper soon began to get a bit of a hard edge. Simon Webbe said his “antennas” had told him all along that David was a wrong 'un, while Joe confessed to the Bush Telegraph that he'd been well and truly “manipulised”.
Earlier in the day, we'd had the now-obligatory blubfest when the campmates read each other letters from their partners and families. I know life in the camp must be hard, but surely nothing could prepare you for the strange psychological effect of hearing the intimate words of your lover coming out of the mouth of Brian Paddick or Martina Navratilova.
On top of all this, Simon volunteered for an underwater Bushtucker Trial – a strange move, given that Webbsie has hated water ever since a wave dragged him out to sea when he was little. Despite being badly shaken up and needing treatment with oxygen afterwards, he heroically bagged six out of the seven stars.
Fortunately, that provided enough food to go round, as the man called Brian was swept off into a cage to spend the night with rice, beans and about 30 rats, in order to earn a cooked breakfast for all the campmates. However, his endurance on behalf of his campies wasn't enough to save him when Ant and Dec rolled up and told him that after 17 days, he would be the sixth person to leave the jungle. After his spineless performance against David the previous day, it was probably a fair cop, guv'nor.

I take back what I said about Nicola being adorable!! =X Her interview on ITV2 was hideously ugly. She is as selfish, thick, obnoxious, two-faced, lying and catty as I thought she was all along. She moaned about everyone and unjustly painted them all differently. Note how self-obsessed she is. She had said all along she wanted Simon to win but after watching the remaining campmates' reactions following her exit, she praised Martina only bc she was the only one who went into the BT pimping Nicola up. So glad she left. Now let's get David out.

I think Nicola is lying or is exaggerating the truth, she is a very nasty person she has managed to turn the whole camp against David. She is the only bully in there, there is no doubt about it. What a shame she has got away with it all, I am so glad Nicola is in her language OUT OUT OUT. She slags David off at every opportunity, she was gutted when Jo was not on her side so she set out to change things. Please let it be over and for god's sake some one tell them all the truth, dont ask Nicola she has been jealous of David from the start.I can't watch any negativity about David. Its not fair!!!!

I changed my mind about Nicola after tonight. I thought she was vile to begin with but she's absolutely adorable.

I am totally freaked out by David and Nicola getting on, it seemed to forced really. He is so creapy, he was letching over a girl who wouldn't look at him twice. I don't like her and I know they made friends, but was there any need for him to be so touchy feely. Made my skin crawl really, he needs to go now. Joe to win.

DVD's so....wierd. He plays up to the cameras a lot and admits it. Dude just makes me cringe. Nicola and him can b.ugger off tonight.

In response to the comment below me, I lost interest in the show when they came in. The atmosphere in the camp was jolly, funny, hilarious and the interactions were interesting before they chucked those two douchebags in.

I think DVD is brilliant. OK he's a loony but at least he brings some good telly and some life to the camp. If Timmy and him hadn't come in, how boring would it have been!

Brill show last night, agree we never saw them getting the chest so did the conversation happen or not lol was very confusing who is playing the game well or who is being genuine tho, cant bare seeing nicolas boobies in a bikini I keep thinking they are going to pop they are far too big for her yuk!!!

DVD has given away his gameplaying previously to camera. It's a bit like telling the makers of Crimewatch "I am going to commit a bank robbery". He should lay off Joe though.

Whether or not David has a game plan, doesn't make it OK for the bullying of him or Timmy. Brian is not only a liar but two faced. Joe has been right all along, but is not thinking straight because the bullies are working on him. They know he is the only possible winner.

If the off-camera Nic/DVD convo actually took place, it has obviously been left out to leave it to us to deliberate who's telling porkies. Clever editing to keep us hooked. Great show.

It's all panto with David but Nicola was also most probably exaggerating. We'll find out tonight. Joe to win...

Great recap Orange.
How good was last night's show? I LOVED it.
Was Nicola telling the truth? Do we simply take her word for it? DVD's said from day one that he's playing a game but did he really say those things? Why would he give his gameplan away to gossip queen Nicola of all people? Is he double-bluffing? Have we all been "manipulised"??! LOL, I laughed hard at that. Bless Joe's heart. He has to win. I'm most certain George is not as invisible and mute in the camp as the editing has made him out to be. Imagine his family, friends & supporters sitting there to watch him and they get nothing. I demand more George screen time. I hope he doesn't leave tonight. Bring on tonight's show.
