BB unveils new 'war' logo

Want to see the new Big Brother logo? Do you? Really? Oh, all right then.

Yes, Channel 4 has unveiled BB’s new "shattered" eye logo – and as you can see, it's all black, with a little bit of red poking out, like a blood-stained splinter. But what does it all mean?

Well, according to idle gossip and speculation, it represents a "war and order" theme. The black stands for authority and the red, war. So it's basically Big Brother's omnipotence being tampered with by a faction of insurgents, in pictorial form.

“Big Brother knows that power corrupts," said a teasing Channel 4 spokesman. "And this year’s game-playing will undoubtedly shatter the housemates’ hopes of an easy summer.”

Frankly, spokesman, that could mean anything. But back to the logo. The spiky bits are cool, but after last year's colourful effort, I can't shake the feeling it's a little bit, well, boring. Thoughts?

Hmmm.... Did the designer take inspiration from a series of books called "Kushiel's Legacy" by Jacqueline Carey, by any chance? In her books, this logo is known as Kushiel's Dart. Hmmm...
