Hell's Kitchen: Brian storm

Posted by Will Parkhouse

You may have had enough of the phrase “Brian to win” this summer what with three months of Big Brother adulation, but we may have to wheel it out one last time for Brian Dowling, who’s currently putting on a hilarious performance in Hell’s Kitchen.

Brian Dowling (c) Wenn 2007 Former BB2 winner Brian is a newcomer to cooking, this much is true. When Marco Pierre White announced that the group would be cooking “Steak au poivre, meaning ‘peppered steak’,” the erstwhile air steward knitted his brow like he was trying to squeeze a spot on his forehead using only his facial muscles.

Elsewhere, Brian reminded us why a poll named him best-ever Big Brother housemate, crying over his faulty souffle and hilariously announcing that he has a crush on maitre d' Nick Munier: "He could just say ‘I’ve got a jar of poo in my pocket’ and you’d say: ‘Nick! Jar of poo! How romantic!’ That’s what he has the power to do."

Brian to win!

I thought we were living in a more enlightened country until I read these posts. Exhausted and bullied for days on end, Brian finally broke down and apparently this makes him the worst example of mankind ever. Apparently though it was only Jim's opinion and he should be allowed to say what he likes however offensive. I despair.

What is going on hear???? all I keep hearing about is PC this And "you cannot say that", all these people going off the handle about the reaction of brian in hells kitchen he was very over the top and a little cry baby I ADMIT that jim's words were a little abrupt but it was all in good fun and joking all this PC crap has got every one so up the wall that people are scared to say there own veiws on a subject not just gays but all groups of people including white people! I have lots of gay friends and even some in my famliy and they dont go off the handle when a non-PC comment is made they just say some thing non-PC Back its done all in good fun I admit every one should get the respeect they diserve no matter who you are where you come from or what you do lets stop all this PC correctness and get on with it like the britsh are good at, we all shood, JIM IM BEHIND YOU your a creative funny guy and not all the new generation are a bunch of PC crying little baby's "im a 20 year old straight white male with a degree so im not one of these stupid racist pig's" were not all gone just not listend to like these PC wimps

I am amazed...my belief in the general public's common sense has been revived..Brian has been expelled..and quite rightly so...but why was Paul also expelled?...These reality programmes seem totally nonsensical..as with the likes of Strictly Come Dancing..it has nothing to do with the ability of the contestants but more with who is flavour of the month or who puts on the best act( ie Big Brother contestants)..the whole thing is becoming farcical...in Hells Kitchen the final word should be with Marco and the customers...how on earth can the general public judge..we arent in the kitchen and we arent eating the food ..we can only judge on the acting ability of the contestants!

How can Brian do that?
Play that stupid gay card. I know wot Jim ment by Good As You. Why does brian have to be so thick and not get that.
He Shouldnt be in there. He should of been the one to leave not Jim.
Put Jim bac in, he was the best.
Not point watching it now Jim is not there.

he should have been evicted from big brother the first day
hung drawn and quatered

a disgace to the human race be it gay or otherwise
why cant people voice their opinion whether it pleases or not, free speach and all that,
he has made it quite clear on national tv he is no ones equal by crying like a newborn baby...if you cant take it dont flaunt it...

IT would appear that Brian has always suffered a identity crisis as he said having six sisters he was used to being counted as a girl. And now he has become yet another BB winner he mistakenly thinks he is a star.he is now pobably a memmber of the smallest minority in our country as he seems to be dis owned by most.

Speaking as a couple with a 25yr old gay son, we think that Brian Dowling is a disgraceful mincing whinging drama queen. He has done wonders to set back the acceptance of gay people in this country. The gay people that live in the real world are quite accepting of the odd comment. Well done to Jim Davidson for being a normal white hetrosexual person. You know what they say Brian "If you can't stand the heat get out of the KITCHEN!!!!!" Stop turning on the water works you fairy and shut up. Get Jim Back IN....

Brian Dowling should stick to presenting late-night TV gambling shows that defraud the gullible of their hard-earned money - it's all he is fit for. What a thoroughly revolting and obnoxious cypher he is.

Although I don't like Jim Davidson's 'humour', I do applaud his attempt to educate the youth of HK.
Like Jim, I was also given to believe that G.A.Y. stood for 'good-as-you'. The explanation was given to me by an older, erudite, homosexual gentleman I got chating to in the USA about 20 years ago. He strongly objected to 'gay' being used as shorthand for sexual orientation - according to him, you here hetero-, homo- or bi-!
I do hope that Brian and whichever of the interchangable non-entity girls it was who did the 'ding-dong-the witch-is-dead' routine last night will be suitably chastened when shown that clip when they are fired. Bullying cuts both ways 'girls'.
Also, Brian's destruction of Jim's letter, written to the whole of the group - what a masterclass in childish petulance - grow up young(?) man and stop hiding behind the 'I'm homosexual' apron

Just when people start to tolerate gays along comes Brian Dowling. He minces around like a girl and acts like one getting all hysterical. We can tolerate people like Elton John and George Michael but Brian sets it all back years.Look at the feedback on here. If i was gay , disabled , a traveller , muslim , i could go on i could cry bullying or racism , how pathetic !!!!!!!

Was I censored for passing a non PC comment

I agree with some comments as before. Jim made no more worse comments than most people. At the end of the day and whether Brian likes it or not, he is a shirtl*fter and a taker I am sure. There is nothing offensive about this, he wasn't bullying he was stating a point. Unfortunately, Jim put himself in a position where nobody would listen and just moved the conversation to a point of where everything he said was taken the wrong way. I have nothing against gay people but I still call them poof etc and I do not conceive myself as a bully. They are just words, I am a bit chunky and a bit mouthy so if someone calls me a fat t@at then I tend to accept it because I am !!. If Brian has such a hangup about being called a shirtlifter then maybe he should act in a way more befitting a man and not camping it and mincing around the kitchen screaming like a girl and acting a prima Donna when all he done is won a reality TV show !!. He does have that look of being a gay and does sound gay, nothing can change that. Jim, well done you said in the last five days what most poeple wanted to say for the last five years. BTW What is content Spam ?

I watched Hells Kitchen for the first time last night and was expecting to see an array of well known faces, "celebrities" But alas no..i had to log on to the internet to discover who some of the nonentities were...Big Brother Contestants no less and not well known footballers but their wives...So not a good start. I am then subjected to an inferior Graham Norton impersonator who then proceeds to mince, whinge and cry much to the embarrassment of even many a gay man and woman. (No iam not anti gay...my best friend at college was gay and i have just spent a very enjoyable weekend in the presence of a lesbian)Brian in my humble opinion is a total nonentity using the currently very acceptable "gay card" to further his career. It is somehow sad that real stars like Jim Davidson,Barry Mc Guigan and Paul Young who have spent many years learning their trade(like or like them not, they deserve respect)are pitted against such trivia. If you are watching Jim...dont lose heart..you still have an audience...just not the one on that tv show... i guess you were picked deliberately to make "good tv"...but i am sure you know that alraedy..

Brian Dowling - what a waste of time, he won BB he has had his day why is he still milking it and being allowed to do so? Good for Jim Davidson. As he had to leave who was there for him? The PC crowd win again.Does anybody dare speak up for normality these days? Jim did! He dared to say what many others thought.I have always understood GAY to mean as Good As You. Jim people will be piling in to see your shows.

I have watched HL with an open mind - congratulations Brian on influencing me away from my opinion that everyone has a place in this world towards 'the gay community are a load of whinging, blarting pillocks who play the kleenex card for personal gain'

You are a disgrace young man who struggles with old fashioned values.
Open mind - I think not

Get brian out now, with his over the top over reaction to any thing said or directed to him or to the two girls.
Who is looking after the rights of the normal person in this country.

Brian or Paul to win

I find Brian very offensive and I now refuse to watch HL because of the way he has influenced Abi and Adele against Jim. What has happened to our British democracy and FREE SPEECH. nowadays we are not allowed to voice an opinion without some teary jerk shouting 'homophobia etc. I have many friends who are gay but I can assure you none of them act like that idiot baby on HL

Crocodile tears from a puffwho s a disgrace to the GAYs

Jim is absolutely right. If you are a white hetrosexual person in the UK with a sense of humour you are not allowed to speak without fear of upsetting the big girls blouses. Fortunately, most of the country is still normal and agree with what Jim was trying to get across. Brian Dowling, I mean,Darling will be forgotten next week apart from his bum chummy friends

Brian has twisted Jim's comments so that he can continue his 15 minutes of fame - anything to get on camera. I am no Davidson fan but I do respect his undoubted talent, skill and his long career. He's not some reality TV Z lister.

So sorry Jim has gone...now we just have bimbo's and that girl/boy....what crap...the only silver lining is Barry...I do think it is a shame that the youth of today cannot say what they want to..because of the pc crowd though...never mind when everyone in the country is Queer coffee colour and limping no one will need to voice there opinions.....they won,t have one...

Ok .. look! I have read all these blog comments so far and sitting on the fence looking in I would say Yes Jim you did say some offensive remarks to a GAY guy. But at the same time I think you had some good reason for saying them. I AM GAY myself, but why is it GAYs have to cry and be so in your face as someone said here... I believe Brian is well over the top and just there to try and get a reaction out of Jim... Brian is a waist of space, and a disgrace to the GAY world. I agreed with the comment as Good As You... what was wrong with that! Honestly... I think Jim is great nothing wrong with what he is saying.. You all have been abusive toward him on here so I think that puts you all in the same boat... mmm Freedom of speech, Freedom of sexuality freedom of Race... its all under the same umbrella right??? What’s good for one is good for the other that’s what i say.. and yes.. BRIAN IF YOU CAN NOT TAKE THE HEAT GET LOST!

who are all these sad people that want brian to win, well i think you all should lift your shirts and wince away!

I love Hells Kitchen, but where the hell did they dig up that onerous little man Jim Davidson from. He thought he was correct with every sick comment he made, and he thought he was Head Chef with his actions.
I for one am glad he slunk off p.d.q back to Dubai although how they stick him I'll never know. Has anyone actually seen Mr Davidson on TV in the last 20years apart from TV re-runs.
No wonder he's been married many, many times, and I bet he says he wasn't at fault there too.
