From the Touchlines: Transfer gossip

Betsen_22april_pa_200There's been another week of rugby transfer rumours as the Guinness Premiership draws to a close. We find out the latest and want to hear yours...

Former France flanker Serge Betsen is expected to put pen to paper on a deal with Wasps for the start of next season. Betsen has long-term been linked to the club but Wasps initially appeared to have lost out in the bidding war for the Frenchman. However, despite rivalry from a host of Premiership rivals, the Londoners will finally bag their man this week.

There could be a host of Premiership big names on the market this summer, among them Gloucester duo Chris Paterson and Jeremy Paul. Paterson has struggled to settle in the west country and may walk out of Kingsholm after just one season while ex-Wallaby Paul has barely started for the club this season.

Elsewhere, Leicester centre Ollie Smith has made no secret of the fact that he'll be leaving Welford Road at the end of the season. A host of Premiership clubs have tabled offers for the player but he is expected to chase the big money in France this summer.

And finally, Leeds flyer Tom Biggs could be on the market with his club destined for the drop to National League One. However, teams would be forced to fork out for his services with the Tykes slapping a £100,000 price tag on their star man.

We want to hear your transfer rumours. Have you heard any? Also, which players would you like to see on the move to your club? Post your comments below.

worcester have been rumoured to be getting a few stars to add to the host they have already!hopefully we'll get a star 10 and not patters!the prem will be wary next season, specially if they beat the pastie munching barf! in the cup

Henry Paul's off to Leeds in the second league-union switch of his career. He was a failure at Gloucester so not quite sure what the thinking is behind Leeds' decision to snap him up. Can't be anything much more than a PR exercise I don't think. He's a truly great league player but, at union level, he never really made the grade.

Heard a rumour that brian ashton will replace loffreda at Leicester and the team'll finally turn to running rugby rather than the forward domination of the poast. Wish it were true as ashton could shut up his critics but it probably isn't.

word in wales is that the scarlets have made an enquiry about jerry collins

BETSEN LOOKS LIKE HE'S GONE A FEW ROUNDS WITH CALZAGHE!

Tim (comment at 11:18), there is no way that carter's coming to England. All that was a smokescreen to get a bigger wage in New Zealand or else in France. As for Evans, I doubt he'll be coming over. If Carter goes to France as expected then Evans might as well stay at home and finally get the chance to play regularly for the All Blacks unless he's a dimwit!!!

Paterson's been woeful for Gloucester. While he kicks everything put in front of him for Scotland he'd struggle to hit a barn door when in a Gloucester shirt.

I used to love the way Betsen used to blub when he sung the national anthem for France. That sort of passion could nicely rub off the Englishmen around him at Wasps. An awesome coup if they pull it off.

I don't really see the sense of Wasps signing Betsen for next season. They've got a world-class back row even after Lawrence Dallaglio retires. Is there room for Betsen, Hazell, Rees and Worsley? Doesn't make sense the club spending £200,000 or whatever it is bringing Betsen to the club, even considering the legend he is.

so what's the chat on dan carter and nicky evans come to the Prem? everyone's gone quiet on that in the last couple of weeks and can't seem to find anything out?
