County fails to cash-in

Morning everyone, well I'm afraid Royal County Star failed to collect in the Bet365 Gold Cup Chase at Sandown.

The Irish-raider ran a strange sort of race and never seemed to be any-thing other than a back marker until the business end when it had far too much to do - eventually finishing seventh. That result cost me a score (£20).

However, moving on and this weekend we can look forward to the first two Classics of the Flat season - the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas from Newmarket.

I'll admit I haven't even given the two races a second glance yet, so I'll be busy going through the form book and ringing around one or two contacts in the build-up this week.
