From the Touchlines: Weekend predictions
England have been written off by all and sundry ahead of the game against Ireland but we're going to take a punt and tip Brian Ashton's men to turn things around at Twickenham come 3pm on Saturday.
Anyone who watched the Scotland game might think we're barmy but England have a reputation for pulling it out of the bag when the pressure counts so we'd tip them to outplay and outscore Ireland this weekend, despite the fact the Irish look to be showing good form at this stage of the tournament.
Also, we're tipping Scotland to slip up in Rome against Italy while in the remaining match of the weekend we expect the French to do the unthinkable and dash Wales' Grand Slam dream.
So, here's our predictions in full:
England 29-15 Ireland
Italy 15-12 Scotland
Wales 21-25 France
Anyway, what do you think of our predictions? Have we lost the plot or are we spot on? Also, let us know your plans for Saturday's big day of rugby. Post your comments below...

Never been so happy as at the weekend although would have been capped off by the English losing as well!!!!!!

It's all setup for Wales to win the lot. So why are their fans concerned with England?
Win it for yourselves and enjoy it.

The scene is set for Wales to be crowned Six Nations Champions tomorrow at the Millenium Stadium. England will be scrapping for also-ran status at Twickenham and their destiny is far from certain against an Ireland side fired-up by all the internal squabbling this week within the England camp. When Gatland and Edwards are identified as the catalysts for Wales' resurrection from their pathetic World Cup position, it might be politic for England fans to contemplate why Edwards was allowed to leave the England coaching structure, where his undoubted skills should have been utilised to better effect than those of the present incumbents. Whether England win or lose tomorrow - and I fear the latter scenario - Shaun Edwards should have been the logical successor to Ashton as England's coach. Perhaps then the influence of Andrew at selection level would then have been firmly kicked into touch.

one things for sure the whole tornament has been a disaster and their is not a good team out there wales last won the grand slam 2005 very simular situation fare enough they can only play what is put in front of them but it has been really poor team performances from all. I would love to see wales play a team that is on form and watch them scratch their heads in amazement and wonder how they lost by so many points come on france

England are in a bit of a pickle at the moment, however they always pull it out of the bag when it matters.England will win,Although i am pleased for Wales it is good to see some success after many years of hard work but i think that this six nations has been more about poor performing world class teams.Wales are in for a bit of a beating. It will be a close game for Italy i can see some genuine growth in there developement.
Nuff said lol lets see which way the ball rolls.

Not sure I'd go with those predictions. England are in a right royal mess at the mo so Ireland would be my bet to win that match. Also, Scotland are better than Italy surely...? As for the final game, that's a hard one to call but the Welsh are buzzing and with home support they gotta do it. So I'd be Ireland 30-12 England, Wales 22-19 France and Italy 9-18 Scotland.

Best till last, wait for a grand slam! As for england they have no hope in beating ireland. Wales have proved us all how to play propper rugby!!

Barmy by name, barmy by prediction. England have as much chance of beating Ireland (at HQ!) as Ian Paisley has of becoming pope. As for the Wales / France, stay focused and wait for a GRAND SLAM.

Typical England fan thinking they're better than they are. I think you'll find the result will be completely the other way round at Twickers. Looking forward to seeing Saturday's lesson in how not to play rugby.
