Wenger's fury at Taylor horror tackle
Martin Taylor's horror tackle which left Eduardo's leg hanging at a sickening right angle was so X-rated that Sky Sports decided not to show replays it as it was so harrowing.
But the sight of William Gallas petulantly confronting members of the St Andrews crowd and Arsene Wenger's contention that Taylor "should never be allowed to play football again" will hardly help diffuse an emotive and horrifying situation.
Taylor was visibly devastated at the obvious consequences of his challenge. Some Arsenal players looked close to tears and even members of the medical staff were reported to be shaken at what they'd seen.
It's fair to say Wenger may not have been so livid had referee Mike Dean not awarded an extremely contentious 92nd-minute penalty that enabled ten-man Birmingham to somehow rescue a 2-2 draw. Gallas' reaction was plain bizarre. He walked to the halfway line to watch the penalty go in then confronted members of the home crowd and had to be pulled away by stewards. He then sat alone in the centre circle and stared into space for two minutes after the final whistle and had to be ushered back to the dressing room by his manager.
It was an extraordinary start to the day's action in the Premier League.

I apologise for my comments as it was on the same day as eduardo broke his leg. Like arsene wenger in was 'at the heat of the moment'I believe I over-reacted at what I said.I believe that martin taylor should of got a red card buts thats it.Martin talor was obviously in distress at the time and I feel sorry for him. However i feel that it still was a clumsy cahllenge.

Correction - Bobby Bigb**ls

Billy Bigba**s - Spurs 5, Arsenal 1. Nuff said.
Posted by: lillywhite | 26 February 2008 at 17:18
Makes me laugh - Spurs win the Carling cup and think they are champions of Europe. Shame really but I suppose when you have only won 1 cup in 9 years it must seem like that - never mind spurs only another 8 years and 11 months 'till your next cup -

Justin, stop using my name to write stupid messages you wa**ker - Then again I suppose with a name like Justin you have to use someone elses name.
The Taylor tackle was out of order and he should be banned for a long time. All you Man U fans stop harpering on about Nani getting kicked - he's as pig headed as Ronaldo so he is now a target- The Arsenal will fight back and win the league dont you lot worry about that - I know Eduardo has forgiven Taylor but thats just been broadcast to calm things down, Birmingham for relegation this year they should not be in a skillfull league they cant hack it thats why they have to play dirty - get rid of them.
Posted by: Bobby Bigballs | 26 February 2008 at 09:20
Toots - good name that
