Sports Personality of the Year...Your view
It’s been a great year for British sport with a host of stars in the running to win the 2007 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
The trophy was lifted by world equestrian champion Zara Phillips last year and the shortlist for this year’s ceremony has now been drawn up.
It includes stars from the world of boxing, rugby union, golf, tennis, athletics and motorsport with Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton the bookies’ favourite to win.
Click here to see the shortlist and share your views below. Is there anybody from 2007 who has been unfairly overlooked?

Why isn't mary king on the list she was 2nd at this years european eventing championships and the eventers also took their 7th european team gold but as normal the equestrian success is not regarded like other sports and by most people ignored

Dennis Wise all the way after great achievement this year!!

Great year for sport ...are you kidding? Hamilton deserves nothing. Famous for 5 minutes; makes a fortune then complains about fame and ships off abroad.... Yep a great example!
Give it to Jeremy Paxman with his sporting prowess in fishing for answers from deceitful MPs

May as well call it English sports personality of the year as I can't imagine the English voting for a welshman even though he's world champion. They would rather vote for somebody who came second as long as he is an Englishman. Before people say the welsh wouldn't vote for an englishman, the S4C Sports personality a few years ago was David Beckham.

i think it should be between lewis and ricky.I have watched lewis since he started karting he was a winner from the start he was proffesional and has had the right attitude throught out his career and what a 1st season he has had and to be so close to winning in your rookie year.As for ricky hatton what a fighter he is he has beaten the best not dodge a challenge and lets hope he shuts that yank up aswell.

its got 2 be joe calzaghe! hes undefeated for 43 fights and has all the belts from his division. hes been world champ for god knows how many years. hes just won welsh personality for the 3rd year running! even though lewis is favourite hes not the only thing that has won all of his races for him, if u put him in a rubbish car he wouldnt win, but put joe in the ring with anyone and hes has obviously proved that he'll beat them. lewis has only been around for this year and how long has joe been around for? lewis has got years to improve and get this award but joe has proved everything this year and i think that he deserves it the most!

why were people like Stevie Gerrard ommitted from the list? His mostly inspirational performances for England and Liverpool should not be overlooked. Whis Jonny Wilkinson on the list? In my mind he's old and tired...did you know that he's apparently the most boring man in England

James Toseland does it again! He IS a super star. and deserves the title of British Sports Personality 2007. Talking of super stars who actually win, where is the FIA World Champion in this list? Andy Priaulx who happens to be a three time FIA World Champion! and all people can talk about is Lewis Hamilton who didn't win a championship this year. although I have nothing against Lewis, I think he is a very talented young man (with a great personality!) he has a long way to go to catch up with these two gentlemen I have mentioned.

Alan Scotthorne, only man to have won five (5) Individual World Angling Championships

I vote for Lewis Hamilton.
He's a wonderful sportsman and a wonderful person

James Toseland gets my vote. As others have said - HE IS WORLD CHAMPION - with a personality too!
JT should not be overlooked just because BBC don't show World Superbikes

James Toseland is world superbike champion for the second time. Lewis Hamilton was second for the first time.

So typical of US brits lets give it to someone who failed to win the world title in their chosen sport...........
why not give it to some who WON their world title...ie give it to James Toseland WORLD SUPERBIKE CHAMPION 2007

Lewis has got to be the one to win, never heard of the others but been a huge mclaren fan for years so GO LEWIS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lewis Hamilton is certainly may favourite to win. You very rarely see someone race so impressively in their first season.
Also, Formula 1 is a tough sport both physically, and mentally, and to come so close to winning the winning the world championship in his first season, is an achievement in itself.
COME ON LEWIS!!!!!!!!
