Hatton v Mayweather Jr...Your view
Ricky Hatton's brave bid to defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr for the WBC world welterweight title ended in failure this morning in Las Vegas.
Despite starting the fight positively, Hatton was gradually out-thought and then out-boxed by 'Pretty Boy' before being knocked down twice in the 10th round.

Sorry for the late comment - both guys were top of their game - could have gone either way- but then the ref stepped in. I'm sure Floyd would like a rematch in Manchester !!

it was a good fight but hatton could of learned by his mistakes by taking cheap hits but mayweather was the overall better fighter

I think hatton could have won the fight if the ref had let him but as it was mayweather used his experience and class to beat him. Still Theres only one Ricky Hatton!

In America, American ref, American judges? Dont worry hatton said cortez i wont interfere when boxing on the inside as long as there is no dodgey stuff going on , yeah right!! Ricky was ready to go an hour earlier dut to late running, used alot of energy in that hour and mayweathers tactics for a 6 time wc were appalling lets bring a rematch over here and get a ref who aint on the payroll, unlucky ricky

wow!!! I stumbled across a brit blog...1st did the people in UK see the same fight that was shown in American???? You guys have to be kidding me...Hatton is a bum!!!! He will never be able to hold a candle to any american boxer. I agree he has the heart but that's all. It's a whole different ball game over here. It's about having nice hands and if Hatton fights Mayweather again.He'll get knocked out again. You brits are sore losers. 1st you disrespect us by booing our anthem. And you guys really think Hatton was beating Mayweather in the earlier rounds.OMG...lol The best fighter ever to come from across the water was Lenox Lewis...But he's not even respected over here and will never go down as a legend. I take my hat off to Hatton for having a big heart but that's all. Cuz people with big hearts lose all the time...lol

Ricky Hatton , is a ledgend, if you have seen him fight ,you will know his game plan went out of the window, with the continue seperation from cortez ,ricky was not allowed to fight his fight ,remember the early rounds ricky was rocking mayweather, but the ref continued to seperate them, they knew what rickys game plan was and stopped it. ricky allways fights inside, but by seperating him they knew mayweather would have a huge reach advantage, i believe a re-match should take place and ricky would be the first to agree, if he did loose a rematch then i think ricky would retire.Ricky is one of the best boxers this country has seen with a fantastic record. We should be behind him ,he will be really gutted at the outcome , he knows he has let himself down, because he is a far better boxer than he was allowed to be on sun morning. Fight on ricky you deserve a re-match

Was so happy when Mayweather won the fight coz I got 100 bucks from a friend (I was at work during the figh) but after watching the recorded fight I was frustated on how the ref was so bias that took Hatton out of his game. I would have to give him his money back since it wasn't a fair fight when the bell rang.
Cmon..boxing ought to be better than this!

Hats off the Ricky Hatton! It was a great fight considering he had to go up his weight, fight here in US and agree on a bigger ring. If the ref would have allowed him to fight inside, I believe he could have floored Mayweather. With the Ref intervening, it took him out his game plan and lost his focus.
Ricky Hatton, pls don't retire. I would love to see you fight again!

WELL DONE RICKY, A GOOD SOLID FIGHT.
The ref was a bit leanient towards Mayweather beacuse i think they knew Letting ricky up close wouldnt suit. Never the less unfortunately Ricky just couldnty manage to pull bit more out of the bag. RETIRE - get real, book a rematch at the city of Manchester stadium fill it with brits and a brit referee and see iff Mayweather even turns up!!! RICKY - GET HIM OVER HERE AND LETS HAVE HIM !!!

The ref was definatley taking a backhander no doubt about it...if Ricky had been able to actually box he would have been all over mayweather streetfighter style and Floyd wouldnt have been able to take it.Mayweather IS a great boxer for sure BUT i think it was Ricky's night but the yanks werent gonna let that happen...the ref was told to stop him from getting too close!!!FACT!!!

Rematch in the UK should happen for sure. Would like to see Khan go for this weight once more experienced and mature and would love to see him fight Mayweather. He wouldn't be so arrogant then!

Sky sports built this fight up as if Hatton was fighting a mug, and to sell their pay per veiw event. They wanted people to pay £15 to see him walk through Mayweather, which was never gonna happen.
A good big 'un will 99 out of 100, beat a good little 'un.

I think Hatton should not retire,he is a great boxer and probably one of the best fighters we have had in this country since lennox lewis. This country has a lot of good boxing talent in the likes of Hatton,Calzage and Kahn. Bring a re-match to england in rickys hometown of manchester or even wemberly and the we will see if mayweather can do the same because ricky will have so much home support,i think mayweather will buckle with the sound of the home crowd. Do not retire ricky you can still box with the best of them.
