But there's a smaller group, like Zinedine Zidane, who push the boundaries even further. To coincide with our competition to win Ian Wright's new DVD, "It shouldn't happen to a footballer!", Orange have picked out our top ten moments when footballers are caught up in incidents they would instantly like to forget.

How about the recent incident with Dida when playing Celtic. His pathetic attempt at play acting made headlines right across the world. Also Mido at the African Cup of Nations when he spat his dummy out at being subbed in the final moments of the game and the guy who came on scored the winner. How about when Stan Collymore got exposed as a wife beating dogger? haha I'm sure he'd rather forget that. Also in your list you mention Robbie Fowler incident but neglect to mention the best part of that story...Gerard Houllier going on the telly and saying he was mimmicking the cows that live next to the Liverpool training field.

Thanks for your comments everyone. The Cantona kung-fu incident was in our recent list of Football Fireworks - hence why it was omitted from this one. Is that the only other one you can all think of?!

I also cannot believe that the Cantona incident against Crystal Palace has not featured in the top ten!
Surely that would easily rate as second to Zidane's world cup exploit's for pure loss of control from a professional.
I would have rated it as No.1, but Cantona was of a slightly unstable state of mind and was prone to wild outbursts.
Whereby with Zidane it was more a shock.
