Michael Schumacher's return to F1 testing with Ferrari prompted us to think of other triumphant and ill-advised sporting comebacks.

Ben Hogan's case is certainly an exception ... most comebacks are catastrophic

Ben Hogan...Was in a hurrendous car crash in 1949, but returned to win the 1951 US Open, and then compile the best season ever in pro golf in 1953, even with two badly damaged legs.
