Ashes disappointment
Hello and welcome to my latest blog.
I spoke before the Ashes about my hopes for the lads out in Australia. That seems like a long time ago now and obviously, like all England fans, I was disappointed that we didn’t get anywhere near keeping the urn.
I know Andrew Flintoff quite well and I feel bad for him and the lads because I know they went out there with the intention to win it, just as we went out to Germany last summer with the intention of winning the World Cup.
Sometimes things don’t go that way, but I know the lads gave it their all but it hasn’t gone right for them.
I love my cricket and the next big event – after the current one-day tournament - is the cricket World Cup.
So do we have a chance? I think it’s going to be very tough because our form isn’t brilliant at the moment. Australia are playing fantastically, and then you’ve got teams like India, Pakistan and South Africa who will all be hard to beat.
We’re certainly not one of the favourites but as an England supporter you have to hope that we put up a good show.
As for my own chances with England, I hope to start against Spain this week. Even though it’s been a while since the last match, Steve McClaren has stayed in contact with his players.
You obviously don’t find out whether you’re playing – but he keeps in touch in between international weeks. He came to our training ground about two weeks ago to meet all the England lads that are at Chelsea and we had a good chat.
So, I hope I’m going to start - I feel like I’m playing well at the moment and my form’s good. It’s a great honour to represent your country – the ultimate for a player – and I’m really looking forward to the game.

I just want to start of with i think you are Chelsea the midfield and they would be nothing without you.
I am also one of your biggest fans for Chelsea and England.
I have every jersey since you have been at the club with your name on it.
And by the way i think thats impressive that you have got Centuary for the school team and its still a record!
I also play cricket and i live in Australia but i often visit England to see relatives.

Good luck on Monday in the England game. every player has good & bad days just like all people . You just have to find your swing ,your place , your center .know what I mean. I love football and watch all the premiership games I can. Chelsea is one of the best teams keep up the good work. I think more girls are taking the beautiful game more seriously now & not just for the bums & thighs. they are great to of course GOOD LUCK 2morrow as well Melissa

hi frank just looking through your video blogs good to get an insite into one of the worlds best players i hate the fact the public crisise you on your preformances at times when it is obvious you are one of the best in the world and that me be my opinion but satistically it is also true also think your iternation crisism is un fair and your 10 x better than gerrard and again it might be my opinion but the premier league satistics show it to keep up the good work for club and country

congrats on the great score today against portsmouth. drogba scored again, wot a player! such an assett to chelsea, im sure you would agree? you played great today frank, as always. bad luck u didnt score that 25 yarder against the arsenal last week, that wud of been fab. that was a great final, shame it ended the way it did. the young gunners played great footie (bit too good at times!!) but they were lacking in class and maturity. anyway, man city in the week isnt it? nooooo probs!!!! go and kick some ass!! show em wot we are made of! Seems Frank you were a bit hasty in passing judgement on our much maligned cricketers 'down under', as we pulled off a fantastic victory against New Zealand today (despite an appalling start!) to qualify for the Commonwealth Bank Tri-Nation Series 3 match finals against the favourites Australia starting on Friday. Vaughan was outstanding as captain - if not with the bat - but being relieved of the onerous responsibilities of captain our Freddie performed like his old cheerful and confident self with outstanding economical bowling figures and trapping the menacing Stephen Fleming on 106 in the nick of time !
So its over to you Frank for tomorrow's important game against Spain (no divided family loyalties we trust?), when you will have to re-establish your credentials and forge a partnership with Gerrard - in the way Flintoff and Vaughan performed and inspired England against New Zealand. We have all been far from impressed at the Lampard and Ballack axis this season which, in my opinion, is why Chelsea are struggling to make headway against Man. United - notwithstanding the lengthy injuries to Terry and Joe Cole.
Play well and good luck to you and your colleagues tomorrow - 2 nil is my prediction!
