Bad week: Joey Barton, rail users, Britney, sexbots

Posted by Greg McDonald

It was a bad week for Joey Barton, as the Newcastle star brought in the New Year with some porridge in Walton prison following a bust-up in Liverpool city centre. Barton’s not exactly new to bad behaviour, as this tackle on Dickson Etuhu demonstrates. Whether Joey reprised this blue “mooning” incident behind bars is unknown at this time.

Of course, they don’t travel like this on the Continent, where the new extreme fad of high speed “train surfing” has made a hero of this German maniac simply known as The Train Rider.

It was yet another bad week for Britney Spears, as the troubled star was rushed to hospital after an incident involving the handover of her sons Preston and Jayden James to ex-husband Kevin Federline’s bodyguards. We’ve thought hospital might be the best place for Brit ever since this video of a night in at the Spears ranch first came to light.

Finally, it was a bad week for Sexbots, robots created for engaging in adult entertainment with humans. Artificial intelligence expert David Levy’s new book Sex With Robots: The Evolution of Human-Robot Relationships detailed how the poor Bots will be expected to get it on with “ugly, isolated” humans as we reach the middle of the 21st century. This week, we’ll leave you with a reminder of a more innocent age when robots were more interested in true love.
