Freddie Mercury voted Ultimate Rock God
Freddie Mercury has been crowned Ultimate Rock God in a new poll.
The late Queen frontman, born Farrokh Bulsara, topped a OnePoll survery of 4,000 people, beating Elvis Presley in the process.
Memphis's reputed King Of Rock'n'Roll was forced into second place, while Jon Bon Jovi - the highest-placed living Rock God, came in at a very respectable No.3.
David Bowie, who turned 62 today, and Jimi Hendrix rounded off the Top 5 in fourth and fifth place respectively.
The full Top 10 is below.
1. Freddie Mercury (Queen)
2. Elvis Presley
3. Jon Bon Jovi (Bon Jovi)
4. David Bowie
5. Jimi Hendrix
6. Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath)
7. Kurt Cobain (Nirvana)
8. Slash (Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver)
9. Bono (U2)
10. Mick Jagger (The Rolling Stones)

Jon Bon Jovi is amazing. He shouldnt be replaced. I am happy with the top three! I think thats about right. Fair enough, Bonjovi is Soft Rock but it still comes under Rock. I went to see them in July '08 and they were FAB! I have been to see a few bands but these were by far the best LIVE act i have ever seen!

I agree with you on Bruce Dickinson, but MCR, A7X and Slipknot? Not a chance, they're rubbish compared to Mercury and Hendrix. I'd replace Bon Jovi with Robert Plant and Kurt Cobain with Bruce Dickinson.
