Becks in "fish breath" slur

Ah, so it turns out David Beckham isn't completely perfect after all - if US gossips are to be believed, that is.

The problem? According to Star magazine, Becks suffers from stinky breath - thanks to the fish oil tablets he takes every day. "He's the spokesperson for the pills - he even appears on the box - so he has to take them despite the consequences," says a fishy insider.

Apparently, wife Victoria is none too happy about the whiff - and grimaces every time Becks leans in for a kiss. Mind you, she grimaces most of the time anyway, doesn't she?

Cast your minds back to this time last week and you may recall the teeny-tiny amount of fuss caused by David Beckham's new Armani campaign.

Hey, it was just a bloke hanging around in his pants - so why all the excitement? Well, that's what Becks himself thinks anyway...

"To be honest, I was amazed by the huge billboard poster outside Macy's department store, but even more amazed by the amount of people who turned up to see it," he writes on his blog. "I'm always surprised by the amount of attention certain things create, but the attention this campaign has created is pretty incredible."

Love Victoria Beckham's dress sense? Come on - of course you do. Well, pretty soon, you too could look like this - because Mrs B's set to launch a fancy frock collection of her own.

"It will be something completely different from what I've ever done," she tells Women's Wear Daily. "I'm just putting it together at the moment, but they will be very upscale dresses and are likely to start at around $1,200 (£611) retail. I'm going to be using very expensive fabrics and finishes, lots of embroideries."

Hang on - £611? Maybe I'll stick to wearing Kate Moss at Topshop for a little while longer... How much would you be prepared to pay for a Posh frock?

Now, here’s a coincidence. Remember how I asked you yesterday whether David Beckham’s entire life was just one huge Armani ad?

Well, Emporio Armani has just unveiled a new set of ads, featuring Mr B posing in a selection of tight-fitting pants. The eye-popping adverts are set to go up on billboards across the world - which some people may find mildly distracting. Let’s hope they don’t cause any accidents…

Oooh - this is quite interesting! Forbes magazine has just unveiled its annual Power List, which ranks celebrities on money and fame.

And guess who's the top Brit, coming in at a very respectable No.5? Actually, there's a clue in our picture. Want another? It's not Victoria Beckham.

Yep, according to US boffins, David Beckham is now the fifth most powerful celebrity in the world - while his wife only makes it to No.50.

But Mrs B's not the only star to be outdone by a partner: poor Brad Pitt only just scrapes into the Top 10 - while Angelina Jolie is at No.3. And newlywed Beyoncé Knowles is three places above her husband Jay-Z on the list.

Look - here's David Beckham, all done up like a snooker player, while out on the town in West Hollywood last night.

The occasion? Becks showed up to the opening of friend Gordon Ramsay's new restaurant on the Sunset Strip.

Sadly, wife Victoria was unable to join him as she's still tottering around New York in four-inch heels, attending meetings with fellow "fashion people". Ah, it's a hard life, isn't it?

Another Spice Girls reunion!

Lily Allen wasn't the only one turning heads at last night's Glamour Women of the Year Awards. Three-fifths of the Spice Girls were also in London to pick up the gong for "band of the year" (I bet Arctic Monkeys were gutted).

Now, I'm sure the lovely people at Glamour magazine judged the band on their musical ability alone - and certainly weren't influenced by the prospect of Victoria Beckham turning up to collect the gong. And that's probably just as well because Mrs B was a no-show, as was the thinking woman's Spice Girl, Melanie Chisholm.

However, Geri Halliwell was there...

I'm assuming that fur was fake, Geri? Otherwise my copy of Ugenia Lavender is going straight back to WHSmith in protest.

Meanwhile, Mel B flew over from Los Angeles, along with husband Stephen Belafonte - although it looks like Stephen wasn't too keen on being photographed on the red carpet...

And Emma Bunton showed up, too - looking as glamorous as ever...

Oh well - three out of five isn't too bad, is it?

Now, who do you suppose would go out during the daytime wearing a pair of coral pink patent leather six-inch heels?

Yep - got it in one! Victoria Beckham was pictured tottering into Los Angeles restaurant Pink Taco with three-year-old son Cruz in tow yesterday afternoon.

Also of note - if you're interested in that kind of thing, of course - are Posh's Hermès Ostrich Birkin bag and her new pinned-up hairstyle.

Posh admits gym phobia

I've just sat through another two hours of GMTV to make sure I didn't miss the second part of Fiona Phillips' exclusive interview with Victoria Beckham.

And was it worth the wait? Well, that depends whether you enjoy watching immaculately groomed women talking about shoes and relationships. But, hey, judging by the hysteria that's greeted the new Sex and the City movie, that's exactly what we do all want.

Anyway, the highlight of the interview came when Fiona asked Posh whether she'd ever consider wearing flat shoes. What about when she's working out, for example? "I'd love to go to the gym," sighed Mrs B. "But I just can't get my head around the footwear."

Now, is that the worst excuse you've ever heard - or has the business-savvy fashionista just noticed a gap in the market for high-heeled trainers?

Victoria Beckham's just been interviewed by Fiona Phillips on GMTV. So for all you Posh fans who had to leave home before 8.35 this morning, here's what she said:

* She doesn't read gossip magazines and isn't really aware of them. "If you took too much notice of what people say about you, you'd be an uncontrollable bighead one minute and off to rehab the next," she explains.

* Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are "normal" - and Tom hasn't tried to convert her to Scientology.

* She's not pregnant.

* She's now hung up her microphone and has no plans to sing with the Spice Girls again. Oh, and she hasn't joined the Pussycat Dolls. "Imagine leaping around on stage in your bra and knickers," she sniffs.

* The reason she never smiles? "It's just the way my face falls."

And that's the end of today's Beckham broadcast. Any thoughts?

Let Posh eat cake!

Here's Victoria Beckham hotfooting it through LAX airport yesterday afternoon en route for London. Nice to see she's dressed in her usual oh-so-practical style for a transatlantic flight, eh?

Anyway, if latest rumours are to be believed, Posh may not be able to fit into super-tight pink trousers for much longer. The reason? Her Hollywood pal Heidi Klum bought her £1,000 worth of cupcakes for her 34th birthday.

Apparently, Heidi has arranged for 12 huge cakes to be delivered to the Beckhams' Los Angeles home at 3pm every Friday for the next year. How thoughtful!

But will Posh really eat the cakes - or will she stick to her usual diet of edamame beans and seaweed shakes? Well, what do you think?

Everyone loves Tom!

Tom Cruise's much-touted return to The Oprah Winfrey Show turned into an all-too-predictable gush-fest when a bunch of the pint-sized superstar's friends and colleagues sent video messages to tell him how great he is.

The A-list brown-nosers included Will Smith, Renée Zellweger and our very own David and Victoria Beckham. Mrs B recalled how Becks took her to see Tom's movie Jerry Maguire on one of their first dates.

"When we got to know Tom, we told him the story," she continued. "And he sent us the jacket he wore in one of the scenes, and he signed it." There was really no need, Tom: you had them at "Hello"...

Anyway, tearful testimonials aside, Oprah Winfrey also managed to quiz the actor about his last appearance on her show - which, as you'll doubtless recall, involved the infamous sofa-diving incident. Watch below to find out Tom's excuse:

It's official: America loves David Beckham! The reluctant superstar has just made a much-hyped guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show - and caused much whooping among the overexcitable audience when he revealed he's ready to expand his family with wife Victoria.

"We're working on it," Becks told Ellen. "We're very family-oriented. We always wanted a big family, which was weird because when we first got together we never even discussed how many children we wanted. It's worked out we want a big family and we love kids, so it's worked out perfect."

Mrs B showed off her new up-do on the way into her birthday party with husband David on Sunday night. The venue? Via Veneto restaurant in Santa Monica, since you ask.

Oh look - it's the Beckhams! The family of five celebrated Victoria's 34th birthday with a trip to Mexican eaterie Pink Taco in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon.

But - surprise, surprise - word of the lunch outing soon reached the paparazzi, and they turned out in force to greet the famous five when they left the restaurant.

As you can see, Becks was none too pleased when one overzealous snapper got too close to him and little Cruz - and promptly pushed him aside.

He can be quite scary when he wants to, can't he?

Remember how the owner of swanky Beverly Hills boutique Kitson had threatened to stop selling Victoria Beckham's dVB jeans because the former Spice Girl hadn't done enough to promote them?

Well, guess who bowled up to Kitson yesterday afternoon? Yep - got it in one! In fact, it looks like Posh was so eager to hit the shops, she even forgot to put a bra on first.

So did Mrs B know the paparazzi would follow her to the store - or is it pure coincidence that a couple of snappers happened to be lurking in the area? Tell us what you think.

Poor Victoria Beckham looks bored out of her mind here. As well she might.

Husband David took her along to the LA Lakers v LA Clippers basketball match on Thursday evening, but I'm sure there were plenty of other places she'd have preferred to be - particularly while the shops were still open.

Besides, basketball's no substitute for a proper sport like football, now is it?

Still, despite their po-faced expressions in this photograph, it sounds like Posh and Becks made the most of their night out. According to one eyewitness, they were happy to sign autographs and behaved "just like any other normal celebrities".

Is there such a thing as a "normal" celebrity, though?

Heavens to Betsy - there's something you don't see every day. In fact, we can't actually recall ever having seen a paparazzi shot of Victoria Beckham smiling.

So what was the occasion? Well, it probably won't surprise you to learn that Posh was out shopping in Beverly Hills when this snap was taken at the weekend. And you'll be even less shocked to know the smile came while she was in a swanky shoe store.

But Mrs B wasn't alone on her shopping trip: she also visited a toy shop with sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

Still, now we've finally seen a picture of Posh smiling, it's set us thinking about other unlikely celebrity snaps we'd like to see. How about Paris Hilton standing at a bus stop? Sarah Harding looking graceful and demure as she leaves a nightclub? Or Chantelle Houghton wearing a lumberjack shirt and dungarees? Any other ideas?

Heather Mills: celebrity mum of the year?

Although Heather Mills is busy in the messiest divorce battle of all time at the moment, she’s also one of 15 famous mothers nominated for the 2008 Celebrity Mum of the Year award.

Presumably the benevolent souls who put the former Mrs McCartney forward see her high-profile court clash as a brave fight on behalf of her four-year-old daughter Beatrice.

Elsewhere, it’s the Spice Girls v Hear’Say, with all the Spices apart from Mel C nominated (and we’re sure she would be if she was, well, a mother) and all three of the one-time Hear’Say girls fighting it out.

In alphabetical order, then, here’s the full shortlist: Mel B, Victoria Beckham, Fern Britton, Emma Bunton, Charlotte Church, Alex Curran, Kate Garraway, Geri Halliwell, Myleene Klass, Heather Mills, Kate Moss, Coleen Nolan, Katie Price, Kym Rider and Suzanne Shaw.

Cameron kisses Posh

Don't get too excited - I don't mean that Cameron. I'm talking about Conservative leader David Cameron, who's been demonstrating the extent to which he's "down with the kids" by waxing lyrical about the time he kissed Victoria Beckham.

Dapper Dave - whose job requires him to meet other high-ranking politicians, world leaders and members of the Royal Family on a daily basis - was asked by a group of schoolchildren who was the most well-known person he'd ever met. His reply? "Victoria Beckham."

The frankly-not-impressed kids were then treated to an amazing snippet of inside info on the erstwhile Spice Girl. "Do you know, I kissed her and she was so slim," the politician told them. "I gave her a hug and put my arms around her and I could touch my body still." Hmmm... are you absolutely sure she hadn't dodged out the way at the last minute, Dave?

So there we have it, folks. Mrs Beckham is shockingly skinny. Who'd have thought it, eh?

Ooh, look, there’s something you don’t see every day. It’s Victoria Beckham with no clothes on! On a grey T-shirt!

Designer Marc Jacobs was the man who managed to persuade Posh to strip – and it’s for a good cause, what with it promoting skin cancer and that. Well, not promoting it exactly - you know what we mean.

“Since we have moved to California, I have realised how important it is to practise safe sun for myself and to keep the skin of my three boys well-protected as well,” said Mrs Beckham in an uncannily press release-esque fashion.

Luckily all T-shirts protect skin from the sun's UV rays – but if you want to save yourself in style, you can pick up one of these limited edition tees for around £18 from Marc Jacobs boutiques. Er, apparently there’s one in Mayfair.

Posh is not exactly known for her subtle dress sense, but even by her standards, this is one attention-grabbing dress. Let's face it, in this bright lemon (or is it lime?) number, with matching shoes, she's probably visible from the Moon.

Contrary to what you might be thinking, she wasn't attending a nu-rave gig - she and hubby David were out for dinner at London eaterie St Alban. You've got to admire Victoria really - it shows real dedication to fame, sporting this skimpy little number without a coat in our good old British winter. Brrr!

But what do you think: does she look totally peachy in this frock - or a right lemon?

Beckham bags the posh seats

Victoria Beckham might be the only Spice Girl without a solo song on their current stint at London’s O2 Arena – but she has managed to blag the best guest list seats.

Queen B, as she probably likes to call herself, has booked the whole of row B, the best seats in the VIP area, for her family and friends. This has forced the other members of the group to find room for their guests further back.

Apparently she ensured she was the first to talk to the venue’s promoters to secure the row – and Mel B, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel C are none too pleased.

A source tells The Sun: “She booked up a whole row just for her family so they had the best view of the stage. The girls’ jaws dropped when they found out they had been beaten to the punch by Victoria.”

Well, if you can’t join them, beat them!

The perfect role models?

Oh dear! There's been much tutting and twittering in the tabloids over the past couple of days - since Schools Secretary Ed Balls cited the Spice Girls as "good role models" for today's kids.

On the contrary, blasts the News of the World - that well-known bastion of morality - Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell and co have set a poor example to the younger generation thanks to their "eating disorders, broken marriages, raunchy modelling, lesbian groping, lying and shoplifting".

Shoplifting? Yep, apparently, Geri once confessed to a spate of stealing during her teens. I'm sure she's very grateful to the NOTW for bringing that up again...

To be honest, I'm sure there are better role models than the Spice Girls - but I still think most of this criticism is unfair and unfounded. OK, so you wouldn't want your daughter to follow Posh's diet or become embroiled in a public war of words with Eddie Murphy. But in general, the feisty fivesome are bright, successful, witty and - above all - not afraid to admit their mistakes. Surely they're not bad qualities to emulate?

Nice one, Cheryl!

Hmmm... footie star Ashley Cole still looked a little disappointed about England crashing out of Euro 2008 when he bowled up to Kimberley Walsh's birthday party at the weekend.

And that's despite wife Cheryl's best efforts to help him put things in perspective. "I told Ash to get over the loss and move on because now we can go on holiday early next summer," she admits - with the same kind of tact and candour usually displayed by fellow Wag Victoria Beckham. "That went down like a lead balloon." Funny, that...

Still, Chezza has plenty of other tricks up her sleeve to encourage her husband to smile again. She's just got a new tattoo on the back of her neck, bearing the words "Mrs Cole". How romantic!
