Prince does Paris (and so do Kate and Claudia)

It was VIPs a-go-go at yesterday’s Yves Saint Laurent show in Paris - including a surprise appearance by Prince.

Resisting the temptation to wear a raspberry beret (the kind you find in a second-hand store), The Artist Formerly Known As Symbol sported a gold spangled suit, which he claimed to have designed himself.

As you’d expect, the place was also teeming with supermodels. Claudia Schiffer looked positively serene as she glided through the media scrum outside the building…

Meanwhile, Kate Moss brought boyfriend Jamie Hince along, and just about managed to squeeze past the paparazzi without losing her cool…

Kate also had some words of admiration for the fashion pack. “You have to be young to do this,” she told reporters. “I don’t know how editors survive.”

Ah yes - as you go about your business in hospitals, schools, offices, shops and factories today, do heed Kate’s wise words and spare a thought for the people who have to sit round looking at fancy clothes all week.

Elle goes a bit Posh

Remember the grey frock worn by Victoria Beckham when she was filming the ad for her new dress collection a couple of weeks ago? (No? There’s a clue in the picture above!)

Well, it’s now received another high-profile airing - because Posh’s supermodel mate Elle Macpherson wore it while filming a guest appearance on upcoming TV show The Beautiful Life in New York yesterday afternoon.

Kylie’s hot, hot, hot at Cannes!

Here’s Kylie Minogue halfway through a rousing rendition of ‘I’m A Little Teapot’ in front of the paparazzi at Friday night’s Dolce & Gabbana party in Cannes.

Everyone’s favourite pop princess stole the show in a hot pink dress. And if you’re wondering why she looks even happier than usual, rumour has it she’s set to marry her boyfriend Andres Velencoso.

And where did the rumour come from? Well, when asked by the nice man from the News of the World whether she was set to tie the knot, Kylie reportedly blushed, looked down at her feet and said, “Er… I really couldn’t say.”

Hmmm… it’s not quite cast-iron confirmation of an engagement, is it? But, hey, we’ll take it!

Anyway, want to know who else was at the D&G party? Pixie and Peaches Geldof showed up - but because we’ve seen so many pics of the style-conscious siblings recently, I thought I’d show you a couple of supermodel shots instead.

Stars show off their ball skills

There was much excitement at London’s Stamford Bridge yesterday as some of the hottest names in showbiz (ahem!) turned out for the annual Soccer Six charity football tournament.

Among the stars? Michelle Heaton took time out from her busy schedule to take part - despite fears that the sizzling temperatures could play havoc with her fake tan.

Supermodel Caprice showed up in a lovely pair of jeans, which she was clearly very keen to show off to photographers…

 

Meanwhile, X Factor singer Austin Drage looked rather pleased with himself as he treated everyone to the sight of his bare torso…

 

And former Libertine Carl Barat did his best to look cool - despite being surrounded by reality TV stars and paparazzi…

Caprice's shock frock!

Want to know who stole the show at last night's Meteor Ireland Music Awards in Dublin? It was, of course, lingerie model Caprice Bourret. After all, she's made such a huge contribution to Irish music over the years, hasn't she?

As you can see, Caprice opted to wear a rather interesting dress with several tantalising cutaway sections that showed off her fabulous figure...

 

However, on closer inspection, it transpired the frock also showed off a dazzlingly white tan line around her hips...

Is Heidi ‘too heavy to model’?

Tish and pish - what a load of old nonsense!

Designer Wolfgang Joop reckons Heidi Klum is too big to be a supermodel. “She is simply too heavy and has too big a bust,” he told German newspaper Bild. “That is not avant-garde - that is commercial.” What a berk!

Meanwhile, fan-waving fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld sniffs: “I don’t know Heidi Klum. She was never known in France. Claudia Schiffer also doesn’t know who she is.”

Still, I’m sure Heidi couldn’t give a monkey’s what they think: she’s just posed naked for the front cover of GQ magazine and is currently hosting the new series of Germany’s Next Top Model (presumably, “heavy” girls are welcome to apply, too).
