Think Katie Price has cornered the market in pink haircare products? Think again, folks!

Everyone’s favourite hotel heiress Paris Hilton has just launched her own similarly hued styling products - and she threw a party at LA’s Thompson Hotel last night to celebrate.

Paris’s outfit for the occasion? A cute baby-doll frock in pink (obviously) - accessorised with a selection of expensive-looking diamonds.

And the guest list? Oh, anyone who was anyone was there - as long as they were either related to Paris or bonking her, that is.

Boyfriend Doug Reinhardt looked pleased as punch to be there…

…as did sister Nicky Hilton (complete with formidable-looking shoulder pads)…

…and proud parents Kathy and Rick Hilton…

That haircare range in full? The Celebrity Styler, a multi-purpose rotating iron (“It curls! It straightens! It shines!). And then there’s The Ultimate Brush, which not only brushes your hair but will also nip down the shops and get you a pint of milk if you ask it nicely. Possibly.

Did Paris issue live lobster demand?

Hello and welcome to today’s silly Paris Hilton story.

Ready? According to the New York Post, everyone’s favourite hotel heiress issued producers with a three-page rider before agreeing to film a cameo appearance as herself in upcoming action comedy The Other Guys.

So what does the tabloid claim Paris needs for a hard day’s work in the office? A round of cheese sarnies and a can of Coke? Nope. A tropical fruit basket? Nah. A selection of live crustaceans and a bottle of vodka? Could be!

An irate source told the newspaper: “The producers were shocked when her team handed them a three-page list of demands - including live lobsters to be prepared fresh when she’s ready to eat, and a bottle of Grey Goose vodka - all for just one day on the set.”

But hang on! Paris’s “people” have since dismissed the story as “totally ridiculous and untrue”. Hmmm… true or not, they're definitely right about the "ridiculous" bit…

Here’s everyone’s favourite hotel heiress Paris Hilton sporting a fancy new up-do at last night’s Fox Reality Channel Really Awards in Los Angeles.

But let’s not linger over her hairstyle. After all, there are far more important Paris-related topics to discuss today - because the party girl has just been blasted by animal rights activists for adopting a pot-bellied piglet.

The star ordered the Royal Dandie - now named Princess Piglette - from a breeder in Oregon. “Paris is thrilled!“ the star’s rep told US gossip site TMZ. “She’s a major animal lover and is excited for the arrival of her new piglet.”

However, a spokesperson for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) has branded Paris a “wretched example” to her young fans for treating animals as if they were “as disposable as her friends and fiancés.” Mi-a-ow! Sorry, I mean: oink, oink!

The angry activist continued: “The Chihuahuas, ferrets and kinkajous she’s paraded through her home in the past were not accessories, and pot-bellied pigs aren’t either.”

No, I wasn’t sure what a kinkajou was either - but I’ve just Googled it and now I want one. (Only joking, Peta people!)

Ah, that’s lucky. When I first glanced at this snap of a celebrity arriving at LAX airport in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon, I couldn’t quite place her. But thankfully, she had the foresight to wear a vest with her name on it.

Yes folks, it’s everyone’s favourite hotel heiress Paris Hilton and on-off-in-out-up-and-down boyfriend Doug Reinhardt en route to Germany…

Lucky old Germany, eh?

Everyone’s favourite pointless socialite Paris Hilton has suddenly decided revealed that Michael Jackson’s daughter was named after her.

“My mom and Michael went to high school together and they were best friends since they were 13,” Paris told US TV show Extra. (Best friends? Really?)

“So I grew up knowing Michael very well and when he had his daughter, he always loved the name Paris and grew up being an uncle to me,” the hotel heiress continues. “So he asked my mom if it was OK and, of course, she said yes.” How kind!

Hmmm… I wonder if the people of France asked Kathy Hilton if it would be OK to name their capital city after her daughter, too.

Meanwhile, in other Jacko-related name news, rumours suggest that Paris’s erstwhile best friend Nicole Richie is planning to name her second child after the King of Pop.

Lest we forget, Michael was Nicole’s godfather - and the paparazzi-friendly mum-to-be has reportedly been devastated by his death.

“She wasn’t planning on naming the baby after him, but she thinks it’s fitting now that he’s gone,” an insider tells Star magazine. So just in case you were wondering, that’s Michael for a boy - or Michelle for a girl.

Revealed! Why Paris ‘dumped’ Ronaldo

Been racking your brains trying to work out why the much-touted romance between Paris Hilton and Cristiano Ronaldo never really got off the ground? Frankly, I’ve thought of nothing else for weeks…

Well, now the truth has been revealed. According to The People, Paris didn’t want to end up being “just a Wag”.

“I didn’t want to start dating Ronaldo because I’ve got no intention of ending up becoming some kind of footballer’s wife,” the hotel heiress told the nice lady from the tabloid.

“People were saying we were the new Posh and Becks - in fact that’s what people said I was going around saying - but it’s not true. Posh and Becks are a beautiful and amazing couple, but I wouldn’t want to be just a footballer’s wife.”

It’s understandable, I suppose. After all, stereotypical Wags just spend all their time shopping, posing and occasionally appearing on ITV2 reality shows. And there’s so much more to Paris than that, isn't there? Oh no - hang on…

Nobody wants to share with Paris!

Look - it’s Paris Hilton! That’s a lovely surprise, isn’t it?

Hollywood’s hardest working hotel heiress is over in Dubai at the moment, plugging the latest in her utterly pointless ratings-grabbing reality show, in which various halfwits and wannabes compete to be Paris’s pal.

Yes, you guessed it: Paris Hilton’s My New BFF - Dubai is coming soon. (And I promise you, I’m not making this up.)

Still, it seems Ms Hilton may actually need a few more friends - because she’s just topped a survey to find the person with whom we’d least like to share a tent.

Nearly 50% of festival-goers polled by camping company Tangerine Fields said they’d prefer to sleep outside in the rain than huddle under the canvas with Paris.

Even more galling for Ms H, it seems many campers would prefer to share their tent with BNP leader Nick Griffin. Despite his best efforts to alienate anyone with half a brain cell, Nasty Nick only made it to second place on the list - with 32% of the vote.

Now, that’s just silly, isn’t it?

How kind! Everyone’s favourite hotel heiress Paris Hilton has taken time out from her incredibly important work schedule to offer a few words of unsolicited advice to Susan Boyle.

Talking to US show, Extra, Paris said: “I think Susan has an amazing voice, but she needs to work on the pose. I think she should come up with something new since she’s such a huge celebrity now.”

Like what, Paris? “I suggest getting a stylist,” she continues. “Susan could look really hot if she just wore some pretty dresses.”

Now, I’m sure SuBo’s far too busy to give a monkey’s about what Paris says. Still, the rest of us could probably come up with a few suitable suggestions for what Little Miss Shallow could do with her advice…

Heavens to Betsy! It seems there just aren’t enough designer clothes in the world for everyone to wear something different.

Hot on the heels of Sienna Miller and Claudia Schiffer’s same-top shock, Paris Hilton and Rihanna have been seen out and about in the same corset dress by Alexander Wang.

Paris wore her frock during an appearance on Late Show with David Letterman on Monday night - a full two weeks after Rihanna was spotted wearing hers during a visit to Kanye West’s New York apartment.

Poor Paris Hilton. Apparently, the hotel heiress was so exhausted following 16 consecutive nights of partying in Cannes and London, she decided to cut her European trip short.

So what did she do when she got back to the US? Er… she went to a party, of course. The occasion? The 37th annual FiFi Awards in New York.

(No, I didn’t know what the FiFi Awards were either - but apparently, the event is organised by the Fragrance Foundation to honour big names from the world of perfume. So Paris really couldn’t have missed that, could she?)

Anyway, as you can see, Paris struck a familiar pose with boyfriend Doug Reinhardt (above) - before indulging in some slightly awkward air-kissing with her mum Kathy Hilton…

 

Indeed, it looks like Paris wouldn’t budge from the red carpet - because she then had her picture taken with fellow guest Queen Latifah…

 

Ah, Queen L looks chuffed to bits, doesn’t she?

However, it seems one high-profile party-goer did manage to avoid posing with Paris. Quick-thinking Dustin Hoffman hid behind his wife Lisa Gottsegen until the coast was clear…

Paris and Peaches party in London

Ah, that’s nice.

The party-tastic Cannes Film Festival may have been and gone but new best friends Peaches Geldof and Paris Hilton have been out clubbing together again, this time in London.

The pair met up at Baroque on Burlington Street last night - although it seems they didn’t swap notes on the dress code beforehand. Peaches went all “rock chick” in a Crystal Stilts T-shirt and leather jacket, while Paris opted for her new favourite “flapper girl” style.

 

And once again, I have to ask: where was Paris’s British Best Friend Samuel Hextall? I do hope the two of them haven’t fallen out already. Otherwise, it makes Ms Hilton’s entire find-a-friend ITV2 show look like a total sham. (Ahem!)

In other Paris-related news, the hotel heiress has taken to her blog to slam reports that she was thrown out of a yacht party in Cannes after a spot of overzealous canoodling with boyfriend Doug Reinhardt.

Paris writes: “That story some tabloid ran about my boyfriend and I on a yacht is such a lie that it’s a joke. That was my good friend’s boat and first of all, she would never ask me to leave, and second of all, I would never do that.”

Uh-oh! Paris Hilton has mislaid her BlackBerry during yet another night out on the tiles in Cannes.

The hard-partying heiress told the nice man from the Daily Mail: “It’s the worst thing that could have happened. It has all my contacts in it and the last thing I want is for it to fall into the wrong hands.”

So could everyone please take five minutes to have a quick search round and see if you can spot it anywhere? If we all pull together, I’m sure it’ll turn up very soon.

And if you do find it, I suppose the best thing to do is to call one of Paris’s mates and let them know you’ve got it. Nicole Richie? Peaches Geldof? Katie Price? The choice is yours!

Personally, I’d call Paris’s British Best Friend Samuel Hextall, as I’m sure the two of them are in touch with one another every day. Oh yes.

Everyone’s favourite hotel heiress Paris Hilton appears to have completed a rather impressive U-turn over a fly-on-the-wall documentary she once tried to have banned.

Poor Paris was concerned about the way she was portrayed in Paris, Not France, a three-year-old film directed by Adria Petty.

But, hey, that’s all in the past now - and Ms Hilton has bowled up to the Cannes Film Festival to help promote the documentary. However, one minute’s worth of material has now been cut from the footage. Hmmm… I wonder what was in it.

Apparently, it’ll be shown on MTV later in the year - but in the meantime, you can watch the trailer here:

Look! Paris Hilton is in London with her latest squeeze Doug Reinhardt. What a lovely surprise! No?

Paris and Doug - or 'Pug', as I'd like us all to refer to them from now on - went for a late dinner at The Wolseley before heading to a charity do at Mahiki and finishing up at the Groucho (where else?) in the early hours.

Throughout the evening, the couple rubbed shoulders with such luminaries of the London party scene as Pixie Geldof, Amelle Berrabah and Kelly Osbourne - who looked particularly pleased to bump into her old mate Paris...

 

Just one question, though: where was Paris's British Best Friend Samuel Hextall? Seeing as he went through all the trouble of taking part in a reality show to win the title of Ms Hilton's BBF, you'd think he'd have been the first to stop whatever he was doing and hook up with his oh-so-genuine pal from LA, wouldn't you?

Unless, of course, Paris forgot to tell him she was coming over... Surely not!

Paris dumps her BFF

Oh no, say it ain't so! Paris Hilton has reportedly parted ways with her Best Female Friend (BFF) Brittany Flickinger - not to be confused with her Best British Friend (BBF) Samuel Hextall - just four months after their beautiful friendship first blossomed.

So what went wrong? Well, it seems Paris made the wrong choice when she picked Brittany from the line-up of hopefuls on her US reality show Paris Hilton's My New BFF.

"They haven't spoken in two months," an insider blabbed to Life & Style magazine. "All that girl wanted was the free trips, the goodie bags, staying at Paris's mansion and the parties and clubs. She was desperate for money. She was one of these girls using Paris to get famous."

Blimey - who'd have thought it? Paris must be so upset. After all, you'd assume that anyone who applied to go on prime-time reality TV in order to become your friend would be doing it for all the right reasons, wouldn't you?

Anyway, onwards and upwards... The unstoppable heiress is now filming a new series of her reality show in Los Angeles, in the hope of finding another, more trustworthy BFF. Hmmm... I hope it's not too late for me to sign up.

Exciting news just in from Los Angeles... Paris Hilton has taken her new man Doug Reinhardt to meet her parents. (OK, it's not that exciting. It's not even news. But, hey, this is a celebrity blog - what do you expect?)

Anyway, Mr and Mrs H joined Paris and Doug for dinner at The Ivy last night - how very civilised!

But that's not all! As you can see from our pics, Paris is also sporting a new hairdo: a severe bob with blunt-edged fringe...

Paris's OTT birthday party

It's almost three weeks since everyone's favourite heiress/actress/singer/brand/berk Paris Hilton turned 28 - but that didn't stop her having yet another birthday party at the weekend.

This time, Paris flew 20 of her closest friends - including new boyfriend Doug Reinhardt - to Las Vegas by private jet, where they partied until 5.30am at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

 

And it looks like things are going really well with baseball star Doug...

 

At one point, Paris took to the stage and told the crowd: "My man is right over there, the sexiest man in the world". She then launched into a performance of her pop single, 'Stars Are Blind', especially for him. Lucky old Doug, eh?

The party also featured a private gig by Chester French, a giant birthday cupcake, circus acts and a band dressed as Sesame Street characters. What japes!

Forget the Oscars (just for a second, that is)!

Big congratulations are in order for international superstar Paris Hilton whose acting "skills" won her three (count 'em - three!) gongs at this weekend's 29th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards - aka the Razzies - in Hollywood.

Paris was named Worst Actress and one half of the Worst On-Screen Couple for her role in laugh-free non-romantic comedy The Hottie and the Nottie. And Ms Hilton also received the Worst Supporting Actress award for (ahem!) Repo! The Genetic Opera.

Sadly, our favourite hotel heiress was far too busy to attend the not-so-star-studded ceremony. Instead, she went to a fashion shindig in Beverly Hills before heading off to her favourite restaurant, Mr Chow, for dinner.

Meanwhile, Mike Myers' super-flop The Love Guru also picked up three awards, including Worst Movie, Worst Actor and Worst Screenplay.

And Pierce Brosnan won the Razzie for Worst Supporting Actor for his ever-so-slightly wooden performance in Mamma Mia!. Ah, that's a bit unfair. He probably just felt a little overwhelmed at having to appear next to a real song-and-dance man like Colin Firth...

But judging by these pics, I’m not entirely convinced our favourite hotel heiress was giving the clothes on the catwalk her full attention…

In fact, it’s almost as if she thought everyone was there to take snaps of her instead…

Paris Hilton will clearly stop at nothing in her bid to hijack the headlines and publicise her new TV show.

Her latest paparazzi-pleasing antics? Yesterday afternoon, she borrowed Victoria Beckham's old trick of neglecting to wear a bra under a see-through black top, as she left her hotel to head for an appearance on Loose Women. (Hmmm... there's definitely a joke in there somewhere.)

And in the early hours of this morning, she ignored photographers' warnings - and stood in a small puddle of sick...

 

Ugh! Well, it had been a very long day...

Oh dear! It looks like Paris Hilton thinks she's finally found her new British best friend. But Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson may have other ideas, judging by his body language...

The hotel heiress was apparently very impressed with George's dance moves when she spotted him at a mobile phone launch party in London on Tuesday night.

Run, George, run! After all, remember what happened when Jordan took a shine to Gareth Gates...

Still, Paris did manage to hook up with another potential BFF, when she "helped" Lady GaGa with her DJ set...

 

Ah, I bet Lady G was really pleased about that. After all, wouldn't you just love it if Paris turned up to lend a hand at your workplace?

Everyone's favourite pointless socialite Paris Hilton has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Oscar-winning actress, UN goodwill ambassador and super-mum Angelina Jolie.

During an interview with News of the World's Fabulous magazine, Paris was asked who'd be her dream best friend. Her reply? "I love Angelina! She's strong but gorgeous and uses her fame for good to make a big difference in the world. That's a great quality. I'd have a lot in common with her!"

Everyone's favourite hotel heiress Paris Hilton has been out partying with gossip guru and almost-namesake Perez Hilton, plus Perez's new best friend Katy Perry.

But while the tremendous trio were hanging out at Hollywood's Bar Delux on Friday night, disaster struck! Thieves broke into Paris's mansion and made off with around $2m (roughly £1.3m) worth of jewellery and other belongings.

Poor old Paris. Maybe we should all have a whip-round to replace some of the stolen goods. Any takers?

Is Paris the new Marilyn?

There's yet more heart-warming modesty from Paris Hilton, who says it was always her destiny to become a blonde icon.

"Everyone was so excited that I was born, they would always take pictures of me," she reveals. "My grandma would call me Marilyn Monroe or Grace Kelly."

Incidentally, my granny used to call me "Bumface" or "Droopy Knickers". Ah, it could all have been so different if she'd chosen the name of a screen siren instead.

Anyway, I digress... "Ever since I was little, it's what I knew I wanted to be - a blonde icon," adds Paris. And by the sounds of it, she thinks she's achieved her aim.

But is "blonde icon" really the best description of Paris? What two words would you use to describe her? Tell us here.

As any self-respecting celebrity knows, if you're really going to shift bottles of your new signature scent, you've got to come up with an eye-catching gimmick for the launch party.

Some examples? Well, Jordan unveiled her post-surgery boobs at the same time as her latest perfume; Victoria Beckham wore boots with no heels; and Kerry Katona snogged Max Clifford in a bid to get punters to shell out for her fragrance.

So what did Paris Hilton come up with at the launch of her new scent, Fairy Dust, in New Jersey on Sunday? She screwed her right leg on sideways! (Just look at the pic above if you don't believe me.) Now, that's magic!

Look! Vanessa Hudgens and Paris Hilton have both been spotted out in the same dress: a Jenny Packham minidress with feathered hem.

Mind you, they did wear them on different continents so there wasn't much chance of the pair bumping into one another.

Vanessa wore hers to last week's Australian premiere of High School Musical 3 in Melbourne - while the hardest working hotel heiress in showbiz sported her frock at the Victoria's Secret show in Miami at the weekend.

But who wore it best? All vote now!

Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding has threatened to leave these shores if Paris Hilton acts on her recent whim and buys a house here.

"If she moved here I would move out as I can't stand to be in the same country as the silly cow," Sarah told The Sun.

Remember Paris Hilton's recent trip to Blighty to find a new Best Friend Forever?

Well, it seems she may have found one - although it's not necessarily one of the contestants on her "find-a-friend" MTV show. In fact, it's Prince Harry's ever-fragrant girlfriend, Chelsy Davy. Just fancy that!

As you may recall, the peroxide pair's paths crossed in a London club last month. "Chelsy was absolutely stunning and such a sweetheart," says Paris. "We chatted for ages."

And what about Prince William and Prince Harry? "They were very nice and down to earth," Paris reveals - although Ms Hilton's idea of "down to earth" may differ slightly from ours, of course.

Meanwhile, rumour has it Amy Winehouse has also become enamoured of Chelsy - and wants to take her on a night out. A word to the wise, Chelsy: just say no, no, no!

It's the Paris and Ricky show!

While everyone else in the US was queuing up to vote for a new president, Paris Hilton - the woman who made such an impassioned play for the White House earlier in the year - appeared on David Letterman's talk show to wax lyrical about... her new perfume.

It's called Fairy Dust - and it's for "everyone who wants to smell beautiful and fairy-like". But don't take my word for it: watch what Paris has to say here:

Those presidential debates and no-holds-barred interviews are all very well - but if Barack Obama and John McCain really want to win over voters in the US presidential campaign, maybe they should take a leaf out of Paris Hilton's book.

The hardest-working hotel heiress in showbiz is set to release her all-singing, all-dancing "Paris For President" music video this weekend.

And we've got a little taster of what to expect here...

Oh dear! After a few days hanging out in the capital's swankiest clubs and rubbing shoulders with the royals, Paris Hilton has gone ga-ga for London and says she wants to stay in the UK for good.

Yesterday, the hotel heiress wore this none-too-subtle "Royal Highness" top as she indulged in a spot of shopping in Notting Hill.

And it seems she was in full-on gushing mode. "I love London - it's my favourite city in the world," she told the Daily Mail journalist who'd been assigned the top task of trailing Paris round the shops.

"I love the Brits - they rock!" she continued. "Everything from their personalities, style and of course the accents. I'd love to live here one day."

So it looks like we really will always have Paris, folks. How do you fancy having her as a neighbour?

Remember how Paris Hilton's been over in Blighty filming her totally genuine search for a new Best Friend Forever?

Well, rumour has it she may have found what she's looking for. Paris bowled up to Diesel's London party on Saturday night with a new pal in tow - and she certainly looked the part...

Note the skin-tight gold metallic leggings and huge shades balanced on top of the head.

But - hang on! - apparently, there were more Paris's New BFF contestants hanging around the star-studded knees-up, too. Here's another one...

Oh, that's a shame! Big Brother 9's first evictee Stephanie McMichael had to cope with yet more rejection last night when she was refused entry to London's Cuckoo Club.

And the snub was made doubly disappointing by the fact Paris Hilton was inside the club, auditioning desperate wannabes genuine contenders to be her new Best Friend Forever (it's for a reality show, obviously)...

Personally, I think Steph would have made the perfect pal for Paris - but sometimes life just isn't fair.

As you may already be aware, Paris Hilton has just embarked on an extended stay in the UK. So look out for lots of pics of her leaving London clubs in the early hours, closely followed by various Big Brother housemates and glamour models over the coming weeks. Marvellous!

And in the meantime, take a look at her new "Paris for president" campaign video, in which she seeks advice from The West Wing's President Jed Barlet - aka Martin Sheen.

It's not quite as hilarious as her original campaign video, but it still has some corkers in it. My favourite? Paris coins the phrase "fo-po" as a shortened version of "foreign policy".

Oh, and there's a fleeting appearance from Martin's son - and Paris's Hollywood Hills neighbour - Charlie Sheen, too...

Paris in TV clash

Everyone’s favourite ex-con heiress Paris Hilton is currently doing the rounds to promote her new MTV reality show, in which she searches for a new best friend.

But things didn’t quite go to plan on yesterday’s edition of The View - the US version of Loose Women - when co-host Joy Behar brought up the touchy subject of Paris’s time in prison.

Wanna be like Paris?

Oh dear - what is the world coming to? (At this point, please imagine me folding my arms beneath my non-existent bosom and shaking my head slowly from side to side.)

Apparently, one in seven British 16 to 21-year-olds wants to be "famous for being famous" like Paris Hilton. According to a new survey by Alliance & Leicester, "celebrity" is the third most popular career choice after singer/musician and TV star.

Only 13% of respondents wanted to be teachers, 12% doctors and 11% lawyers.

But why would you want to be Paris? OK, there's the seemingly bottomless pit of money and the endless swanning round swanky locations - but that's not really a career choice, is it? It's all to do with wealth and privilege and has very little to do with hard work or talent.

And if you're going to be inspired by someone in the public eye, surely it makes more sense to aspire to be an Olympic athlete, a crusading chef or an award-winning actor.

So be honest! Who would you rather be? Paris Hilton or Olympic double gold medallist Rebecca Adlington? Calum Best or Jamie Oliver? Tell us here.

Look! It's celebrity lovebirds Paris Hilton and Benji Madden leaving swanky Beverly Hills restaurant Il Pastaio after a romantic lunch yesterday afternoon.

So what do you reckon? Did Paris buy Benji that T-shirt to remind him to do as he's told? Or did a somewhat over-ambitious Benji choose it himself, in the hope that Paris would obey him?

Or are you too distracted by Benji's ridiculous "baseball-cap-on-backwards" style choice even to consider what it says on his T-shirt?

Paris for president!

Remember last week's controversial campaign ad by US presidential candidate John McCain?

The ad showed footage of McCain's increasingly popular rival Barack Obama, alongside unsolicited shots of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

Well, now Ms Hilton has soared in my estimation (yes, really) by releasing an actually-quite-funny video in response to McCain's ad.

In it, she refers to McCain as "that wrinkly white-haired guy" and says she wants America to know she's, "like, totally ready to lead". She also suggests Rihanna would make an excellent vice-president.

Barack tops Paris and Britney

Who's the biggest celebrity in the world right now? Apparently, it's US presidential candidate Barack Obama - and that's according to his Republican opponent John McCain.

Senator McCain's campaign team have just released a new ad, featuring shots of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears alongside footage of Barack. "He's the biggest celebrity in the world," says the narrator. "But is he ready to lead?"

The Republicans are obviously hoping that some of the negative connotations attached to Paris and Britters will rub off on Barack - and US voters will decide they don't want a celebrity to run the country.

But then again, it could all backfire as celeb-crazy Americans realise who they really want in charge. Paris for President! Put Britney in charge of foreign affairs! Don't laugh - it could happen...

Oooh - the excitement! Three new celebrity-endorsed product ranges were unveiled yesterday - and I just can't decide which to buy first.

There's Jade Goody's new perfume, Controversial - launched last night in London by the lady (ahem!) herself, who promptly threw the bottle up in the air then watched it smash on the floor...

What a shame, eh?

Then there's Jordan's new sweetheart-covered bedding collection, which made its triumphant debut at Matalan in Milton Keynes yesterday afternoon...

Given Katie Price's penchant for pink, I'd have expected it to look even more girlie than that, wouldn't you?

And finally, Paris Hilton launched her brand new footwear range at Macy's in Las Vegas...

Here's Paris Hilton out shopping in Los Angeles with Marilyn Monroe at the weekend. (Oh, and just in case you were wondering, Marilyn's her pet pooch.)

Anyway, you'll be pleased to know that at the ripe old age of 27, Paris has finally grown up. How do we know? Paris says so!

"I think my whole life I was kind of living as a teenager and not really taking responsibility," she told a press conference to promote her new movie, Repo! The Genetic Opera.

"Now I realise I'm an adult and I'm running a huge company and I'm in love. I'm in a great relationship," she continued. "I have my family. I'm just excited for life."

Hey, if Paris is excited, we're all excited!

Is Paris pregnant?

Here's Paris Hilton, wearing a somewhat billowing frock during a dinner date with boyfriend Benji Madden in Los Angeles last night.

And you know what that means, don't you? Yep, billowing frock = pregnancy rumours. But don't get too excited: the hotel heiress is bound to step out in something figure-hugging over the weekend to prove she's not really sporting a baby bump.

Meanwhile, in other not-very-exciting Hilton/Madden news, it turns out Paris's long-suffering Chihuahua Tinkerbell is "dating" Benji's brother Joel's pet Pit Bull Eazy. (You may need to read that sentence several times, but you'll get the gist of it eventually!)

Hmmm... I can't help thinking Joel was asking for trouble when he called his dog "Eazy"... How long will it be before we see Tinkerbell wearing a billowing frock, d'you reckon?

Here's Paris Hilton killing time before Saturday's MTV Japan Video Music Awards by indulging in a little light retail therapy in Tokyo.

But was the hotel heiress too engrossed in her shopping to notice she was surrounded by paparazzi? Well, what do you think?

...before jetting back to Los Angeles to join boyfriend Benji Madden at last night's MTV Movie Awards...

Incidentally, it was immediately following the same event last year that Paris drove straight to prison to begin her infamous stint behind bars.

And what a difference a year makes, eh? Twelve months ago, Ms Hilton was just another pointless "celebutante" who spent her time flitting between upmarket fashion stores and glittering red carpet events. And now, of course... erm... could someone help me out here, please?

Paris meets Chanelle

Never let it be said Paris Hilton doesn't work hard for her money. The unstoppable hotel heiress spent yesterday promoting her new fragrance, Can Can, in London.

But before heading into the late-night launch party at Dolce nightclub, she found time to stop and give us this limp little wave...

Oh Paris, we're not worthy. But - hang on! Was our favourite ex-convict looking decidedly less orange than usual? I only ask because she seems to have been "out-oranged" by some of the UK's most celebrated reality stars, who also turned up to the launch.

First came Big Brother's Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, whose dress almost matched her skin tone...

Then came a very serious-looking BB housemate-turned-pop star Chanelle Hayes...

But most comment-worthy pic of the night has to be this one of Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton...

I wonder what was wrong with her eye. Too much mascara? Too little sleep? Or was she just dazzled by the sight of Aisleyne? Who knows?

Hmmm... I wonder if Paris Hilton knew the cameras were there when she popped to Los Angeles boutique Kitson for a spot of retail therapy yesterday.

Actually, it turns out everyone's favourite hotel heiress was there to promote an online charity auction, offering fans the opportunity to accompany her on a shopping trip.

Personally I can't think of a worse way to spend an afternoon - but each to their own, eh?

Do you ever feel life is passing you by? While the highlight of my Monday evening involved completing the easy Sudoku puzzle in the london paper, it seems anyone who's anyone headed down to top West End nightclub Mahiki.

Guest of honour was Paris Hilton, who managed to find her way into the venue despite the throng of paparazzi, security guards and celebrity-watchers hanging around on the pavement.

Meanwhile, drag queen extraordinaire Jodie Harsh stopped to oblige a delighted Prince Harry lookalike who asked for a kiss...

Flamboyant socialitie/professional berk Henry Conway turned up in a horse-drawn carriage...

And ubiquitous Big Brother twins Sam and Amanda Marchant were also there - no doubt hoping to indulge Paris in a scintillating discussion about, erm, Barbie dolls or lipstick...

"Hot bitches" wanted!

Please excuse the rather unsavoury headline on this blog. It's not my fault. It's Paris Hilton's.

As you may recall, everyone's favourite hotel heiress is set to follow in the illustrious footsteps of Kerry Katona, Jodie Marsh and Lisa Scott-Lee by getting her own MTV reality show. And casting has now got underway for I Wanna Be Paris Hilton's BFF - with all sorts of misguided fools interesting people clamouring for a chance to be mates with Ms H.

So what does it take to impress Paris? Apparently, you have to be a "hot bitch" or "fabulously fierce guy" who's at least 21 but looks under 30. "Are you sick and tired of envying social icons?" reads the casting call. "Will you be the next pop-arazzi obsession and quintessential star of the red carpet? Prove it, bitches!"

Er... I think I'll give that one a miss, actually. Anyone else tempted?
