Lily goes two-tone!

Hmmm… I’m not totally convinced by Lily Allen’s latest hairdo - are you?

The singer sported the two-tone bleach-and-black style for a gig at Manchester Apollo on Tuesday night. But don’t be too alarmed: I’m pretty certain it’s just a wig. After all, nobody’s hair grows that fast, does it?

Other talking points? Well, that red Preen bandage dress is definitely a winner - although pairing it with black footless tights may not have been the best idea. (Amanda Holden’s been spotted wearing the same frock, fact fans.)

And note how Lily bowled up in five-inch heels…

…but looked much happier once she’d ditched them in favour of going barefoot instead…

I’d go back to the trainers if I were you, Lil…

It’s the Q Awards. Cue eye-popping outfits!

Monday afternoon is party time! At least, it was yesterday - as the great and the good from the music business gathered at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel for the Q Awards.

Among the winners? A casual-looking Lily Allen picked up the gong for Best Track (for ‘The Fear’), sporting a very chic white-sparkly-frock-over-black-leggings combo. However, the Daily Mirror’s 3am Girls have described the singer’s ’do as “post-coital hair”. Whatever can they mean?

And talking of hair, Pixie Lott wore some flowers in hers…

…while Shingai Shoniwa from The Noisettes opted to pop a selection of fruit in hers…

Well, that’s one way to remind yourself to get your five a day, I suppose.

And finally, here’s the ever-delightful Amy Winehouse showing off her brand new jubblies to the paparazzi (again) later in the evening…

Apparently, Amy bowled up late to the ceremony, but eventually stumbled on stage to present The Specials with the Inspiration Award.

She later “heckled” Robert Plant - by chanting, “Billy Bragg! Billy Bragg!” - when he went up to collect a gong. Mind you, this may not have been text-book heckling: she could just have terrible eyesight.

Anyway, Amy’s evening ended with a trip to a nearby restaurant with her 13-year-old goddaughter Dionne Bromfield, which is where our charming snap was taken.

GQ Men of the Year upstaged by women

Heavens to Betsy! It sounds like last night’s GQ Men of the Year Awards was very eventful indeed - with plenty of eye-popping fashion and a smattering of hissy-fits. Marvellous!

First up, Kelly Brook opted for a figure-hugging frock - which, she was more than happy to announce, was made entirely from rubber. “It took a lot of talcum powder to get me into it,” she purred.

Not to be outdone, Lily Allen sported impressive hair extensions together with a sheer flared trouser-suit…

Several tabloids have branded Lily’s outfit a fashion faux pas - but, for what it’s worth, I think she looks gorgeous. Still, what would I know?

Lily picked up the gong for Woman of the Year - but her red-carpet moment was overshadowed when her old mate Kate Moss stormed past, announcing she was “going home and never coming here again” (with a few choice expletives thrown in).

The problem? Nobody’s really sure - but apparently, Kate may have taken offence to something host James Nesbitt said about her on stage. Ah, get over yourself, love!

Anyway, here’s Kate beating a hasty retreat to her car - together with boyfriend Jamie Hince and one-man entourage, hairdresser James Brown…

Meanwhile, back on the red carpet, X Factor superstar Alexandra Burke turned a few heads by sporting a new hairdo and this Union Jack-inspired minidress…

Still, GQ’s International Man of the Year Mickey Rourke only had eyes for his “plus one” - who’s so far known only to the tabloids as “a stunning blonde”…

Other winners included Guy Ritchie (hurrah!) for Alfred Dunhill Film-Maker, Elvis Costello (woo-hoo!) for Outstanding Achievement, and Shadow Chancellor George Osborne (oh!) for Politician.

GaGa meets her match

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before but… Lady GaGa showcased yet another eccentric fashion choice while performing at this weekend’s V Festival.

I’m calling this little shock frock the “deconstructed glitter ball”. We’re laughing now, of course - but this time next month, everyone will be wearing one.

Still, Lady G faced some very stiff competition in the eye-popping fashion stakes. Example No.1? Here’s Alesha Dixon flashing her knickers, which may or may not have been made from the same material as GaGa’s dress…

And here’s Katy Perry sporting this season’s must-have “out-of-control shades, insubstantial sequined bra and hot pants” combo - the fuss-free fashion choice for every self-respecting businesswoman…

Finally, Lily Allen wore a Cleopatra-style wig, electric blue eye make-up and a sheer black top…

…and somehow managed not to flash her nipples in public for once. Wonders will never cease.

Lily Allen's used to being the centre of attention – but cricket fans barely batted an eyelid when the singer performed an impromptu striptease during the Fifth Test yesterday.

Accompanied by her new squeeze Sam Cooper, Lily was looking demure when she arrived at the Oval in a black lace jacket and leopard-print scarf. The patriotic pop princess soon got into the spirit of things, painting a St George's cross on her cheek.

As she watched Freddie Flintoff and co battle the Aussies, Lily used her Blackberry to post messages on Twitter, describing the Test as "a perfect way to spend a rare day off". She even found time to smooch with decorating firm boss Sam. Hmmm… it and it was only a week ago that she was insisting the pair were "just friends".

But, as the afternoon wore on and the heat intensified, Lily decided to spice things up by taking off her jacket to reveal a see-through vest and no bra. Unfortunately, this maiden didn't bowl anyone over – as fellow audience members kept their eyes firmly on the pitch. Oh well, as the England cricketers know only too well, you can't win 'em all, Lily…

Anyone for cricket?

As Ashes fever sweeps the nation - well, sort of - hardened trend-spotter Lily Allen has jumped firmly on the bandwagon.

Last week, she expressed a preference for Lancashire hero Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff - describing him via Twitter as “f***ing fit”. But now she’s changed her allegiances to Durham fast bowler Graham Onions.

“I think I fancy Graham more than Freddie now,” she Tweeted yesterday. “I’ve heard he goes for days. Is Onions married? Anyone?”

Sadly for Lily, Mr Onions is married. Oooh - it’s enough to bring tears to your eyes… (Onions! Bringing tears to your eyes! Geddit?)

Ahem. Sorry.

Lily launches jewellery, shows nipple (again)

Oh dear - those corset tops are a real hazard, aren’t they?

Poor Lily Allen wore one to the launch of her new jewellery collection at Claridge’s yesterday - and accidentally flashed a nipple to the paparazzi when her top slipped down.

In fact, if you lean towards your computer screen and put your ear against our picture, you may just be able to hear the faint ripple of well-heeled customers choking on their cucumber sandwiches.

 

Still, our Lil’s no stranger to sudden bouts of unexpected nipple-flashing - so she soon recovered and got on with the business in hand.

 

As you can see, the jewellery range - which goes on sale in September - includes panda and flamingo pendants. But if neither takes your fancy, you can also choose from coins, flowers, traffic signs, smiley faces or fruit.

Oh, and there’s a Carrie Bradshaw-style name necklace, which just reads “Lily Allen” - but I imagine that would have a fairly limited market, unless there are loads more Lily Allens out there… Imagine!

Anyway, everything’s priced between £30 and £100 - and will be available from retailers including Argos and H Samuel.

As much as I like Lily Allen, I do feel she could start an argument in an empty room sometimes.

The latest? Our Lils has committed treason of the highest order by suggesting that national treasure/tabloid darling Susan Boyle isn’t necessarily the best singer in the whole world.

Lily wrote on her Twitter page: “I thought her timing was off on Britain’s Got Talent on Sunday - no control, and I don’t think she has an amazing voice.

“She can sing, but it’s not about talent with her, is it? She seems like a lovely lady but if the show is about talent, that Shaheen kid should win.”

Why’s Lily Allen wearing a wedding dress?

Actually, your guess is as good as mine - although, I have to say, she does look very nice in it.

 

Lily wore the slightly OTT gown - accessorised with black bag and black nails - to a party at London’s Groucho Club to celebrate the launch of Samantha Morton’s new made-for-TV movie, The Unloved.

Any awkward moments? Well, apparently, the singer nearly came face to face with artist Sam Taylor-Wood for the first time since her fling with Sam’s ex-husband Jay Jopling.

However, the pair managed to give one another a wide berth - and Lily slipped outside for a smoke with Jaime Winstone…

Silly Lily does it again

A word to the wise, Lily Allen: please stop and think what you’re about to say before opening your mouth during interviews.

Just a few short weeks after she was accused of condoning drug use, the outspoken singer has once again sparked controversy by apparently suggesting parents should encourage their kids to try illegal substances such as ecstasy.

Lily told Dutch magazine Revu: “Parents should say, ‘Drugs might seem fun, but they do funny things to your brain. Some people react to it good, some don’t. Try it and see what you think.’”

Now, I’m sure Lily didn’t mean her words to be taken too literally - but all the same, it was a pretty daft thing to say. Any thoughts?

Lily and Kerry dress for the cold

And now here's a quick celebrity masterclass in how to dress during the current cold spell.

A somewhat excitable Lily Allen led the way in a fancy Prada hat (with optional bogey) when she went sledging on London's Primrose Hill yesterday afternoon.

However, I should add that Lily's hat is made out of fox fur (baaaad Lily!) - so you may prefer to stick to Kerry Katona's idea of sporting novelty earmuffs instead...

 

And finally, here's Lady GaGa looking an utter berk by stepping out in just a pair of sparkly tights, a thin jacket and a pair of sunglasses - none of which are suitable attire for London in February...

 

Remember, folks: don't try to copy Lady GaGa's look at work or school today (or any day, for that matter)...

There's so much Lily Allen gossip around at the moment, it's hard to know what to focus on first.

The new romance with multi-millionaire art dealer Jay Jopling? The two-stone weight loss following a bout of "hypno-dieting"? The desperately tedious continuing feud with Katy Perry?

Ever the professional, I've decided to ignore all of the above and just take a long hard stare at her new Louis Vuitton shoes instead. I mean, just look at them.

Sun columnist Gordon Smart reckons they look like orthopaedic shoes - but I think they're really rather good. I'm just not sure how she manages to walk in them. What do you think?

I'm not obsessed with Lily Allen - honestly!

But after Wednesday evening's homemade designer T-shirt, I just had to show you the shock frock she wore to PR guru Matthew Freud's Christmas party last night.

It looks pretty demure from the front - but just look at it from the back...

Also on the guest list were a host of heavyweights including Bono, Mick Jagger, Bob Geldof, Guy Ritchie, Ken Livingstone and Piers Morgan.

But none of them wore an outfit to rival Lily's so they don't get their picture on this blog. Sorry fellas!

Yesterday she only had nice things to say about erstwhile rival Amy Winehouse. But Lily Allen's niceness attack clearly doesn't extend to US singer Katy Perry - although I can kind of understand why...

"I happen to know for a fact Katy was supposed to be an American version of me," Lily told Capital FM. "She was signed by my label in the US as 'We need to find something controversial and kooky like Lily Allen'. And then they found her...

"I think the lyrics and stuff are a bit crass," Lily continued. "When I met her I was a bit frosty with her because someone once asked her to describe herself. She's like, 'Aha, I'm like a fatter version of Amy Winehouse and a skinnier version of Lily Allen!' It's like, you're not English and you don't write your own songs: shut up!"

What's more, I think I've spotted another subtle difference between Lily and Katy. To my knowledge, Lily has never emerged from a giant banana costume dressed as one of Santa's little helpers...

Lily defends Amy

They may not always have seen eye to eye - but Lily Allen has still spoken out in defence of erstwhile rival Amy Winehouse.

"I know Amy very well, and she is very different to what people portray her as being," Lily says in an interview with Scotland on Sunday. "Yes, she does get out of her mind on drugs sometimes - but she is also a very clever, intelligent, witty, funny person who can hold it together. You just don't see that side. She gets a really hard time."

In fact, Lily thinks she and Amy both get a raw deal from the media. "I mean, there aren't that many people with whom the press concentrate on their personality so much," she continues. "I think in the UK, as far as females go, it's mainly me and her that get that treatment."

So is Lily right? Should the tabloids cut her and Amy some slack? Tell us what you think.

There was much excitement outside London's Bungalow 8 last night when Lily Allen was spotted leaving hand in hand with a mystery man.

However, the man in question turned out to be her granddad, who accompanied our Lil to the English National Ballet's Sleeping Beauty after-show party.

In fact, it was celebrities-a-go-go at Bungalow 8 last night: also in attendance were Dannii Minogue, Sadie Frost, Jessie Wallace, Peaches Geldof and... erm... David Cameron.

Hmmm... given the choice out of that lot, I think I'd have preferred to hang out with Lily's granddad. How about you?

After last week's mass of curls, Lily opted for a shorter, choppy style during a night out partying with Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson at the Notting Hill Arts Club.

They’ll always have Paris…

So Paris Fashion Week got underway yesterday - which means we can spend another seven days looking at pictures of unlikely combinations of celebrities looking at clothes. Brilliant!

First up? The always fabulous Lily Allen squeezed in next to nearly-as-fabulous Dita Von Teese and we’re-not-quite-sure-about-you-yet Katy Perry on the front row at Dior. And don’t they look really comfortable in one another’s company? No?

Harry Potter star Emma Watson was there, too, but presumably she’d nipped off to get the ice creams when this picture was taken.

Later in the day, Dita hotfooted it over to the new Patrick Demarchelier exhibition at the Petit Palais.

The gorgeous Ms Von Teese ensured she stood out from the crowd by wearing a top hat at a jaunty angle. Rumour has it this look will be positively de rigueur on high streets up and down the land by the end of the year.

And tabloid-tastic supermodel Naomi Campbell showed up, looking like butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth…

I still wouldn’t dare to argue with her though, would you?

Considering there were a fair few parties and premieres going on in London last night, the launch of the Alfred Dunhill clothing store had a fairly impressive A-list turnout.

Lily Allen looked gorgeous - and unusually subdued - in a black ruffled gown.

You wouldn't think it to look at this picture but our Lil's currently over the moon because she's finally got a release date for her long-awaited second album (9 February 2009, in case you're interested).

Jude Law also showed up - immediately giving rise to rumours that some of his hair has fallen off his head and landed on his chest...

It happens to the best of us, Jude.

Oh, and man-of-the-moment Danny Cipriani was there, too - although new girlfriend Kelly Brook wasn't on his arm this time...

Last night saw some of the greatest male luminaries of our age - Led Zeppelin, Boris Johnson, Chris Evans (yeah, I know) - honoured at the GQ Men of the Year Awards at London's Royal Opera House.

But forget who won what! All the talk today is about Lily Allen's eye-popping Dolce & Gabbana ballgown...

"What was she thinking?" squealed Penny Smith on GMTV this morning.

Well, my guess is she was thinking: "If I wear this OTT dress, I'll make sure I grab a few more headlines while my record company continue to drag their feet about releasing my second album." Just a hunch...

"I feel like I'm wearing a wedding gown," Lily told reporters on the red carpet. You don't say!

The erstwhile singer co-presented the ceremony with Elton John - but it seems the two stars didn't quite see eye to eye.

Apparently, Lil was knocking back the champers a bit too much - which led to some bitchy on-stage sniping towards the end of the evening.

"Are you going to have another drink?" snapped Elton.

Lily's reply? "**** off, Elton! I'm 40 years younger than you and I still have my whole life ahead of me." Ouch!

"I could still snort you under the table," responded a clearly rattled Elton.

Our Lil' recently adopted the four-year-old mongrel from Battersea Dogs Home, having been given the thumbs-up as a suitable owner by an inspector. However, it turns out the 60-something animal welfare worker had no idea who Lily was. Imagine! Apparently, he's more into Kate Nash...

Lily goes a bit Britney

It seems Lily Allen is making the most of her stay in Los Angeles.

Yesterday, following her night out with Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson, our perky pink-head hit the shops in an electric blue top, stopping to buy a fancy coffee on the way. And, of course, she was trailed throughout her trip by the paparazzi.

Hmmm... This is all sounding strangely familiar, don't you think? It's very much like an average day in the life of Britney Spears, who - what d'you know? - also sported an electric blue top for a spot of shopping in Beverly Hills yesterday afternoon. Sadly, the pair failed to bump into one another - but there's time yet...

But - hang on! - there's more. It seems Lily has also taken a leaf out of Brit-Brit's book and got the hots for a photographer.

She writes on her blog: "Seriously, I have never been followed like we were today. There were literally 20 cars of 'razzi with us. Not that I'm complaining - they were perfectly pleasant. In fact, we had a bit of a laugh with them and I quite fancied one of them."

Don't do it, Lily!

What's Lily Allen looking so happy about? It could be because everyone's favourite celebrity pink-head has just been allowed back into the US to finish her new album, having been denied access six months ago.

And last night she went out for dinner at swanky LA eaterie Il Sole with "just good friends" Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan. The connection? Well, Lily's mates with Sam's brother Mark Ronson, isn't she? See how it all falls neatly into place?

Anyway, so far no willing eavesdroppers have come forward to tell us what the trio talked about the dinner table - so we'll just have to take a guess at their conversational topics. Amy Winehouse? Dealing with the paparazzi? The recent shock resignation of the entire South Korean cabinet?

Has anyone got any better ideas?

Lily's out again!

Say what you like about Lily Allen (and most of you did on yesterday's blog) - but that girl's definitely got stamina.

Less than 24 hours after she had to be carried to her car following the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, the singer showed up to last night's Summer Exhibition private party at the Royal Academy of Arts.

Lily was pictured alongside fellow party girl Jaime Winstone, who's currently dating Lily's brother Alfie. Note how Jaime has taken a style tip from Lily's get-up from the previous night, and worn a huge bow in her hair. Actually, you could hardly miss it, could you?

Oh, by the way, Lily left the party with her former boyfriend, DJ Seb Chew. Just thought I'd mention it...

Hold the front pages! Lily Allen's dyed her hair bright pink and tied a little bow in it...

You're laughing now - but this time next week, everyone will be wearing their tresses like that. Just wait and see!

Our Lily showcased her new 'do at last night's Glamour Women of the Year Awards - where she picked up the Editor's Special Award in honour of her career as a "singer, TV presenter and all-round style queen".

Ms Allen was suitably chuffed at the recognition, telling reporters she'd never won anything - "not even an egg and spoon race at school".

In fact, the star was so overwhelmed, she had to be carried out of the venue, still clutching the award, at the end of the evening...

...and delivered safely into the back of her car before being driven home to bed...

So now for the all-important question: does Lily look better with pink, blonde or brown hair? All vote now!
