Cheryl’s ring - the saga continues!

There’s been an exciting breakthrough for the growing army of celebrity-spotters whose sole purpose in life is to check whether or not Cheryl Cole is wearing her wedding ring.

This in-your-face picture of our Chezza flashing the £160,000 band has just appeared on her management company’s Twitter page.

The caption? “3 words: Diamonds Are Forever.” Well, that’s great news about the diamonds, Cheryl - but what about your marriage to Chelsea star Ashley Cole?

Seriously though, I can’t really think of a good reason why the couple would pretend their marriage was all fine and dandy if it wasn’t. And to put it bluntly, it’s not as if they work together and have a joint brand to protect.

My not-so-expert reading of these latest break-up rumours? They’re both working very hard at the moment and probably don’t see one another as much as they’d like. Oh, and sometimes Cheryl leaves her wedding ring at home because it’s quite big and expensive.

Cheryl and Ashley - together again!

Panic over! Here are Cheryl and Ashley Cole leaving last night’s Children In Need concert together - putting paid to those rumours of a rift.

Well, OK - they don’t exactly look like love’s young dream in this picture. But they were probably just a bit tired. Cheryl had just performed on stage with Snow Patrol while Ashley had looked on proudly from the audience.

Rumours that Ash only turned up to the star-studded show because he’d heard Take That were getting back with Robbie Williams later proved to be unfounded.

So Chezza’s wedding ring is back on and all is right with the world. Er… isn’t it? What do you think?

Beyonce borrows Cheryl’s dress

Remember Cheryl Cole’s eyebrow-raising “dustbin lid” frock from last Saturday’s X Factor?

Well, Beyoncé was wearing a slightly less revealing version of the £1,500 David Koma design at last night’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin.

But that wasn’t the only outfit she wore throughout the night. Far from it. The star - who scooped three awards at the ceremony - also showcased this red-corset-and-not-much-else ensemble to perform her hit ‘Sweet Dreams’…

…and later changed into this black embellished mini for a celebratory post-show trip to Felix nightclub with husband Jay-Z…

They’re out and they’re proud!

Heavens to Betsy! Having looked through all the pictures from last night’s Pride of Britain Awards in London, I’ve decided it could well be easier to tell you who wasn’t there.

In fact, there were so many on-radar celebrities milling around, I’m surprised there was enough room to squeeze in the unsung heroes the event was supposed to be honouring.

A quick cross-section of guests? Well, Cheryl Cole showed up in a one-shoulder black pleated frock (above) - while Myleene Klass also opted for black, but her ruffled minidress was slightly more eye-popping…

Oooh - get her!

But - hang on! What’s that behind Myleene? I’d recognise that little scooter anywhere. Yes, it’s celebrated US actor and Ulrika Jonsson’s former Celebrity Big Brother housemate, Verne Troyer…

As you can see, Verne took time to sign autographs for the adoring crowds - all of whom seemed to have brought along huge glossy photographs of the pintsize superstar just in case. How fortuitous!

Meanwhile, everyone’s favourite usurped talent show judge Arlene Phillips was clearly keen to prove she’d been officially invited (unless, of course, she'd won those tickets in a radio phone-in competition)…

Now, I know I’m being extremely uncharitable here but the phrase “mad granny” does spring to mind when I look at that snap of Arlene.

Moving swiftly on, Peter Andre showed up, and adopted his usual suave-yet-melancholy pose…

However, rumours that he was there to collect the newly created gong for Britain’s Bravest Ex-Husband With A New Album Out proved to be false.

Also there? Gordon Brown, Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue, Alexandra Burke, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts, Kelly Brook, Nell McAndrew, JLS, Diversity, Gordon Ramsay, Ray Winstone, Naomi Campbell, Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne, Davina McCall, Joanna Lumley, various Wags, a smattering of GMTV presenters, several Strictly Come Dancing contestants, a couple of soap stars, two Spice Girls and a succession of women who’ve been romantically linked to Simon Cowell. Phew!

Queen of Everything Cheryl Cole could be set to follow in the illustrious footsteps of Victoria Beckham, Katie Price, Kate Moss and… er… Kerry Katona by launching her own signature scent.

“I would love to have my own beauty products,” Cheryl tells Hello! magazine. “I think the most special thing you could have is your own custom-made personal perfume. It must be amazing to have your own unique smell.”

Peter Andre: ‘I feel like Cheryl Cole’

Saint Peter Andre of Brighton and Hove has taken time out from nabbing guest spots on every TV show in the land to write his weekly column for New magazine.

So what’s… er… new, Pete? “It’s funny because I remember Cheryl Cole saying last year that she’d had the best and worst year of her life, what with Ashley allegedly cheating on her and her huge success on The X Factor, and I feel a bit like that at the moment,” ponders the busy-busy pop star.

“These past few months have been horrific on a personal level - but on a professional level, I’ve honestly never been happier,” he continues. “I think personal heartbreak spurs you on to do well because you need to focus on other things.”

Ah well, every cloud has a silver lining… So is Pete really the new Cheryl? Will the trauma of his break-up with Katie Price continue to spur him on to bigger and better things? Or are his super-extended 15 minutes of fame nearly up? Tell us what you think.

David tops Cheryl in kids’ poll

Soon-to-depart Doctor Who star David Tennant could be a shoo-in for a new career once he leaves the Tardis behind for good. The actor has just topped a YouGov poll of 510 primary schoolchildren to find their dream head teacher.

Dapper Dave won an impressive 26% of votes - beating off stiff competition from seasoned poll-topper Cheryl Cole, Leader of the Free World Barack Obama and Harry Potter author JK Rowling.

Asked for the reasons behind their choices, almost half of the children polled said they mainly wanted their school head to be fun.

Good call, kids! Frankly, I think that’s where head teachers have been going wrong all these years. Who wants some stuffy old codger who tells you off for running in the corridor or farting in assembly? It’s time every head across the land was issued with a sonic screwdriver and told to liven things up a bit.

Dannii follows Cheryl to Hollywood

Tsk! Just a few days of bobbins weather in dear old Blighty - and all our favourite celebrities have started hotfooting it to Hollywood.

Victoria Beckham, Katie Price and Cheryl Cole are all holed up there at the moment: it’s enough to put the UK paparazzi out of business.

And look who’s shown up in Tinseltown now! Yep, Cheryl’s X Factor colleague Dannii Minogue has just flown in, determined to “crack America” before she runs out of Botox has to get back to work in the UK.

“You’ve always got to keep on the ball, and now is the first time I’ve had the confidence to go to America and try it out,” she tells Australia's Herald Sun. “I really didn’t have the confidence before.”

And what’s given you the confidence now, Dannii? “Just being on Simon Cowell’s shows, sitting next to him, and learning from him has opened up a world of opportunities for me,” the star gushes.

“I’ve had a few trips there in the past 12 months and normally you have to explain who you are and what you do. But as soon as you say, ‘I work with Simon on The X Factor‘, they get it.” Marvellous!

Meanwhile, across town, Cheryl’s still been hard at work on her solo album…

 

I wonder if she’ll have time for a catch-up with Dannii while they’re both in town…

Perez wants Cheryl!

Ah, that’s nice. US gossip supremo Perez Hilton has issued a “come and get me” plea to Cheryl Cole - seen here outside her Tinseltown hotel yesterday afternoon.

To be specific, what Perez actually says is: “Cheryl, dial our digits! We’d love to show you the town!” How kind!

As you’re doubtless already aware, our Chezza has just hotfooted it over to Los Angeles to work on her solo album - with the help of her old mate, Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am.

And yes, that’s the same will.i.am who famously had a “little disagreement” with Perez at last month’s MuchMusic Awards in Toronto. I wonder if Cheryl can persuade the two men to put aside their differences and become best friends forever…

Nah, probably not.

We’re all envious of Megan (apparently)!

Woman-of-the-moment Megan Fox has pretty much done the unthinkable!

She’s beaten Cheryl Cole into second place in Heat magazine’s new Body Envy survey - yet another hugely important poll, which this time seeks to reveal the celebrity with the most covetable body shape.

“We’ve always known that Megan is a hit with men - but we were surprised at how quickly she’s made an impact on women,” says editor Julian Linley.

But if the magazine’s legions of female readers were allowed to pick and choose body parts from their favourite celebrities, it seems they’d opt for Megan’s face, Jennifer Aniston’s arms, Angelina Jolie’s breasts, Beyoncé’s curves and Kelly Brook’s legs.

Why stop there, folks? I’d also like Jennifer Lopez’s right little toe, Eva Longoria-Parker’s belly button and Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace’s wisdom teeth. How about you?

Has the Cheryl backlash begun?

Hmmm… can anyone else smell the whiff of a Cheryl Cole backlash in the air? For the past 18 months or so, she could do no wrong - but I’ve noticed a few sniffy comments about her in the press over recent weeks.

An example? Well, our old mates at the Daily Mail have just published a 10,000-word (or thereabouts) “think-piece” on how Chezza has turned herself into a “human Barbie”.

How so? Well, apparently, she’s “spent £4,000 a year on hair extensions, £9,500 on her smile - and £36,000 on an exercise bike“. (Except - as the newspaper points out much further down the copy - she didn’t actually buy the bike. It was a gift from Harrods three years ago. And she doesn’t use it any more.)

Still, even the celebrity weeklies seem to have been laying into Cheryl for her recent fashion choices.

Heat’s comment on the £4,000 Alexander McQueen frock she wore to her birthday party last week? “Dancing on Ice called - they want their dress back!”

Meanwhile, the Daily Telegraph’s fashion director Hilary Alexander sniffs: “Isn’t a girl constantly showing so much flesh just starting to look the teensiest bit desperate? She should save it for the bedroom.” Me-ow!

So is all this cattiness just something to fill column inches while we wait for the next series of The X Factor to begin? Or have people genuinely started to tire of Cheryl? Tell us what you think.

Heavens to Betsy - just look at that dress!

Last night saw Cheryl Cole celebrate her 26th birthday a day late - with a star-studded party at London’s Vanilla.

And as you can see, the recently anointed national treasure and celebrated Queen of Everything wore a very revealing frock by Alexander McQueen (a snip at £4,000, fashion fans!), accessorised with a little gold bag and a Premiership footballer.

Other guests? Well, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud were there, of course. However, there was no sign of Chezza’s other bandmates, Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle (don’t panic - they’re probably just on holiday).

Still, the birthday girl invited all her X Factor mates along, too. Look! Here’s Simon Cowell and his ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour, looking rather cosy…

 

And here’s a teeny-tiny Dannii Minogue with her boyfriend Kris Smith…

 

You’ll also be pleased to see that two of Cheryl’s X Factor protégés turned up. The show’s winner Alexandra Burke was as smiley as ever…

 

…and Diana Vickers looked like she could take someone’s eye out with that ring if anyone dared to mention “Eggnog Quigg”…

 

Other guests included former Spice Girl Emma Bunton, Xtra Factor presenter Holly Willoughby and X Factor pipsqueak Louis Walsh.

Been wondering how Queen of Everything Cheryl Cole spent her 26th birthday yesterday? Well, I’ll tell you…

She indulged in “a major piece of backcombing” to create a “bouffant semi up-do” (phrasing courtesy of our friends at the Daily Mail) - then set off for the X Factor auditions at the ICC Arena in Birmingham, where she was presented with a bouquet before starting work.

Still, at least our Chezza was among friends on her special day. Simon Cowell was there - jabbering away to his imaginary mates on his mobile phone as usual…

 

And then, of course, there was Dannii Minogue - giving a little half-hearted wave to the paparazzi…

And here’s Louis Walsh, with his shirt done up nice and tightly to protect himself against this cold, inclement weather…

 

You may also be interested to hear that Ashley Cole bowled up with balloons and gifts during Cheryl’s lunch break - and she was also given a cake in the shape of a little white puppy with a pink bow around its neck. Lovely!

Give me a C! Give me an H! Give me an E, R, Y, L! What have we got? Cheryl! Wooooooh!

Ahem! Sorry about that - I’ll just put my pom-poms down for a second and explain… Cheryl Cole has just topped her 97th poll of the year - and this time she’s been voted men’s top fantasy celebrity cheerleader.

Kelly Brook took second place in the survey of 3,000 men by fixtures service Sportingfix.com, closely followed by Kylie Minogue, Holly Willoughby and Keira Knightley. Gosh - I bet they’ll all be delighted with the news.

“There are some gorgeous girls on the list, but for me it‘s got to be Cheryl,” says the service’s ever-so-slightly creepy-sounding managing director Nick McBoyle. “It would be great if we could actually get the girls together to shake their pom-poms.” Dream on, Nick, dream on…

Still, I think it’s only fair that we redress the balance by voting for our top fantasy male celebrity cheerleaders.

Personally, I’d like to be cheered on by David Beckham, Peter Kay, Barack Obama, Philip Glenister and the dad out of Britain’s Got Talent’s Stavros Flatley. Possibly.

Cheryl and Jen - best of friends?

You’ll doubtless be shocked to your very core to hear that Cheryl Cole has topped a poll to find the UK’s most wanted celebrity best friend.

The pop princess beat Jennifer Aniston into second place - despite the fact that the former Friends star is reportedly a brilliant buddy. Indeed, we have it on good authority that she’ll be there for you when the rain starts to fall. (Sorry!)

US First Lady Michelle Obama came third on the list, just ahead of TV presenters Davina McCall and Fearne Cotton.

And the celebrity we’d least like to have as a best friend? It’s poor Kerry Katona…

 

Hmmm… maybe people were just put off by the thought of Kerry’s husband Mark Croft hanging around in the background all the time.

A picture of seasoned poll-toppers Cheryl Cole and David Beckham? It can only mean one thing! Yep, it's silly survey time again, folks...

Researchers for the Disney Channel polled 2,000 people to find out their fantasy celebrity family. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Becks and Cheryl were named the ideal brother and sister.

And our No.1 fantasy celebrity mum? It's Absolutely Fabulous star and Gurkhas campaigner Joanna Lumley...

 

...while gnome-faced gazillionaire Richard Branson topped the list of fantasy dads...

 

So do you fancy sitting down to Sunday dinner with that little lot? Personally, I think I may feel a little overwhelmed, and eat my lunch from a tray in front of the telly instead.
