Myleene: ‘Marriage is unnecessary’
Posted by Jane Murphy
Now, that’s not very public-spirited!
Musician/model/M&S mouthpiece Myleene Klass has revealed she won’t be tying the knot with long-term partner Graham Quinn - because she doesn’t see the point.
So that means we’ll never get to nose at her wedding pics in OK! magazine - which doesn’t seem fair. Quite apart from anything else, I’d like to see what those two fellas out of Hear’Say look like nowadays.
But, alas, it’s not to be. “I’m going to keep on living in sin,” mum-of-one Myleene told The People. “I quite like it. People keep asking me when I’m going to get married but I’ve gone off the idea now.
“When I was younger, I thought I’d get married and have a fairytale wedding. But now I really don’t think it’s necessary. As you get older you realise what your priorities are.
“My aunt keeps calling me ‘Mrs Quinn’ and I have to keep telling her it’s not my name. I can understand why people call me that. But not being married doesn’t mean we love each other any less.”
So do you agree with Myleene’s views? Is there still a place for marriage in modern society? Tell us what you think.

Marriage has nothing to do with religion, its just an individuals way of saying I want this forever, sadly many lose the way, but to prattle on about religion is pure fantasy, just like the bible.
As someone said earlier people use religion to justify all kinds of hatred and perverse actions, this is fact, the sooner we all live for each other or even just for ourselves, the better off we will be. I have been very happily married for 28 years without any need for religion, what a fantastic 28 years it has been.

If you dont wish to get married then dont have children, if you can be commited enough to have children you should be commited enough to get married

“I’m going to keep on living in sin,” mum-of-one Myleene told The People"
Dear Myleene Klass: Keeping on living in Sin will take you to hellfire!!!!!!! Also sex is spiritual. You have most things I believe but one thing you require and so does everyone is a personal relationship with Jesus - that secures both life here and eternity. I pray that Jesus will fill you with the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Turn to Jesus NOW; "NOW is THE DAY of salvation. 2morrow may be late.” “What shall a man (human)give in exchange for his soul?” “IT IS APPOINTED TO MAN TO DIE ONCE; AFTER DEATH IS THE JUDGMENT.” “TODAY, if you shall hearken (hear) His (Jesus') voice, HARDEN NOT your heart." May God reveal His will for your life to you Myleene and may you walk therein, AMEN. God bless you Myleene Klass. - Agape Sis S

Myleen Klass = Pointless nobody
Who really cares what she thinks?
Posted by: Jimbo | 19 October 2009 at 22:40
Wouldn't mind giving her a good talking to !Come and sit on my knee, and we'll discuss things.
Posted by: Biggus | 19 October 2009 at 21:13
Why let a piece of gold and a piece of paper spoil you happiness, the relationship is easier to get out of without those things.

I am due to marry in december and I am in the generation that seems to think marridge is unimportant. not at all. its a commitment to each other. yes its not for everyone but to say its not nessacery is a little over the top. i cannot wait to get married and to spend the rest of my life as Mr and Mrs as intended!
Posted by: Ben | 19 October 2009 at 20:22
Getting married is up to the individuals concered. There isn't a stigma anymore about people not being married and having kids etc. I dont understand why it's such a big news story for a Z list celebrity to make a comment about it.
Posted by: Elle | 19 October 2009 at 19:36
There's so much more to marriage than the wedding day. I do think that people with children should be married. I also don't see why people feel the need to spend so much on their wedding. All you need to do is celebrate your love with family and friends. My husband and I got married 11.5 yrs ago in a castle in Northumberland and it wasn't expensive.
Posted by: Helen | 19 October 2009 at 19:27
absolutely wrong, having just lost my wonderful husband of nearly 40 years, I wish I could have had my marriage for many more years. She seems to be confusing marriage with a wedding. There wasn't a 'need' for us to get married, we wanted to because we loved each other and wanted to make a life-long commitment
Posted by: mary | 19 October 2009 at 18:54
Well, I think she's gorgeous and an extremely talented musician. Although 68 years old, I'd love the chance - married or not!
Posted by: Bedivere | 19 October 2009 at 18:32
Now, moving beyond the obvious fact that capital letters obviously make people pay attention to you, the comments that feel the need to use said form of type are hilarious. For a start, if you didn't care, you would have shown it much more effectively by not commenting. It's also so interesting how you decide to call her a 'silly little girl'; to be honest, it's nice to see a celebrity who has progressed beyond the typical little-girl dreams of the big white wedding, rather some some celebrities who marry the first man/woman who can put up with them, only to divorce a year later. Saying that you don't want to get married after thinking the issue throug is far more mature than marrying for the sake of expectations.
Let's face it, among the richer end of society (arostocrats, celebrities, whichever) marriage is usually based on money/publicity/legitimacy contracts. It hasn't changed; and apparently neither has the diatribe against women who go against the norm (how many male celebrities 'living in sin' get the same horrified reaction?).
(And on the note of her not looking after her kids; perhaps she thinks they'd be better off outside the world of celebrity. Jordan and Peter Andre are/were seen in public with their kids a lot, spreading their personal lives across the tabloids - does that make them better parents?)
Marriage is only truely important in terms of the value placed on it by the individual. Some people find that it helps shape them better as individuals; others reach that point without what, for unreligious people, is essentially a bit of paper and metal. If you don't feel that you need to prove love under the eyes of god, and don't feel that it would make your relationship better, why is it necesary to be married?
Posted by: Charlotte | 19 October 2009 at 18:21
I totally agree with Myleene, if you love someone, you don't need to get married to prove it. In this day and age, marriage doesn't prove anything, with people getting divorced so often. Cynical, maybe, but a waste of money? Yes!
Posted by: Nat | 19 October 2009 at 17:54
think about it myleene.we all know the other word for . and if you truly are in love then marriage is total commitment to one and other. i found its worked for us and we;ve been married for 45 years
Posted by: Ralph | 19 October 2009 at 17:54
I'm only 37 and have been married since I was 19.
I got married and then had my children I feel it's important to do things right.
Everyone has ups and downs and I think living together it's easier to walk away.
Being married makes you try a little harder to make it work. Marriage is for life maybe Myleen doesn't want to be with her partner for life.
Posted by: suzie | 19 October 2009 at 17:43
Isn't that a shame about Myleen, we thought she was different from all the very self important 'pretty' women who have become ' celebrities' for very little. I wonder if she will change when she is older, not so beautiful and thought a bit.
Posted by: Edwin Turner | 19 October 2009 at 17:42
Love is one thing, but marriage highlights a strong sense of commitment through the ups and downs of a relationship. Maybe her career and daughter are more important to her...
Posted by: Susan | 19 October 2009 at 17:12
Perhaps Myleens partner has not even asked her to marry him!
Posted by: jas | 19 October 2009 at 17:02
personally call me old fashioned but I say you should be married before kids come along
Posted by: AILEEN | 19 October 2009 at 16:39
My husband and I have been together for nearly 10 years and have one son, aged four. In earlier years, neither of us were particularly bothered about getting married but to me it seemed more important once we had our son but even then, marriage was not on the agenda. However, in Jan last year we just decided we'd do it that year and what a great year it was, organsing, the day itself and the following months. Has our relationship changed? Well, yes but in a great way. We now all have the same surname (my maiden name I found hard to let go of but a year on, I'm over that) and I enjoy being a Mrs. Can't really say why that is but I am proud to take my husbands name. So I agree with where Mylene is but can also see the other side now that I am there.

When will we stop seeing Klass all over the papers and tv.Does she ever look after her child?Stop prancing about and stay home for a change.Give us all a break.PLEASE.
Posted by: joyce | 19 October 2009 at 14:33
Marriage is not just a piece of paper.Marriage is suppose to be a holy covenant before God.we're you show your full commitment to the world n God. But i think they value is undeerstated in this modern world. So as the society nowadays dont believe in god or belief then they loose respect for many of its values
Posted by: time | 19 October 2009 at 13:38
Myleen we are entitled to our opinions...so here is mine

Posted by: CRAIG DAVIS | 19 October 2009 at 13:05
Who's Myleen Klass?
Posted by: Dave | 19 October 2009 at 12:54
I wonder how many people commenting here are married? Unless you are married you have no idea what it means, and how it differs from being 'partners' (a lot as it happens). The view that it is unnecessary is logically true, but it is also very naive.
Posted by: NA | 19 October 2009 at 12:37
I agree with Myleen i think in todays society... it's not all about Marriage and Love, it's all about the big day and having it all.... When my grand-parents married you knew it was for love nowadays it's more like a contract... People, just do it for fun not for love. Why marry and waste so much money and then a few years down the road your filing for devorce... i think as soon as you marry it all goes down hill... Unless you are certain that you are going to be with this person for the rest of your life... why not but don't do it... if it's not necessary. I know a few people that have got married for the wrong reasons... and felt they were pushed into marriage!

In response to Bernard Benuly saying that it is the foundation of long lasting relationship that grows stronger as the years go by is not grounds for marriage. I have been with my partner for 30 years and we as as strong as any marriage if not stronger. We have been through so many many challenges that strike in most peoples lives and maybe even more and we are completely together neither had affairs and we are united as one and we feel no need for a piece of paper to tell us that we are made for each other, we alone make this relationship work. Leave people to choose what they feel is right for them.If they are meant for each other they will stand the test of time no piece of paper will change this. Only true deep down love.

Marriage is'nt the be all and end all. You can still have a long and loving relationship with someone without getting hitched. Most marriages don't last long nowadays anyway so what's the point.

Some of us think over rated talent show contestants, are uneccessary. No matter how nice looking.
Eh, myleen !
Posted by: Paul | 19 October 2009 at 12:03
That is what is wrong with todays way of thinking.
Getting married, That is the foundation of a long lasting relationship that grows stronger as the years go by, helping each other through our daily tasks in life.
