Barack v Becks: who’s most stylish?

He may have his work cut out with that whole “being Leader of the Free World” business - but Barack Obama is still the world’s snappiest male dresser, according to a new pointless very important poll.

Yep, according to a new survey of 3,000 men, the US president is even more stylish than fashion-tastic footballer David Beckham, who could only manage third place on the list.

“Barack Obama has a great sense of style, which no doubt adds to his popularity,” says Jonathan Heilbron, CEO of posh shirt emporium Thomas Pink, the company behind the research. “World leaders and politicians aren’t known for their dress sense, so it’s refreshing to have Obama, who seems to genuinely care about his appearance.”

Ah, it sounds like Jonathan’s got his priorities in the right order, doesn’t it? I mean - who’d want to listen to a world leader in a creased shirt or last season’s cufflinks?

But, I hear you cry, who came second on the male style list? Well, I’ll tell you: it was Brad Pitt…

 

It’s the second notable survey appearance for Brad this week - because he’s also just topped a US poll to find the celebrity dad we’d most like to see in his underwear.

And in case you were wondering, Barack could only manage fifth place in that one. Must try harder, Mr President!

I'm sure his clothes cost a small fortune but Brad Pitt's style in this picture looks alomost theatrical - like a Noel Coward costume. I think Barack Obama always looks really smart and Becks, despite the fact that I can't stand him, looks decent in a suit too.
