Peter Andre appears in male strip show!

He‘s back, back, back! Peter Andre made his first post-break-up public appearance in London last night.

The occasion? Pete took to the stage during the press night for sexy male dance show Here Come the Boys! at the O2 - although, I hasten to add, he didn‘t take part in any of the routines.

Instead, he merely sang the dance troupe’s praises to the crowd. “I’m very happy to be here,” he whooped.

“In fact, when they asked me to be here, I was quite honoured. I know how much effort these guys have put into this show. You’ve got great-looking guys out the back and you’ve got great-looking girls in the front.”

Among the appreciative audience were Pete’s older brother and his ever-faithful manager Claire Powell…

 

So Pete’s back in business - but what about estranged wife Katie Price? Well, the artist otherwise known as Jordan is set to make her first official public appearance later today, when she models her equestrian range at Clothes Show London.

Megan: ‘I’m no Wonder Woman’

Ah, that’s a shame. Despite rumours to the contrary, it looks like Megan Fox won’t be playing Wonder Woman any time soon.

Why not, Meg? “Wonder Woman is a lame superhero,” the actress tells The Times. “She flies around in her invisible jet and her weaponry is a lasso that makes you tell the truth. I just don’t get it.

“Somebody has a big challenge on their hands whoever takes that role - but I don’t want to do it.”

So who should play Wonder Woman if Megan won’t do it? Angelina Jolie? Michelle Ryan? Billie Piper? Suggestions please!

Kerry goes back on GMTV

What better way to start the day?

I wolfed down my tea and toast this morning while watching Kerry Katona give her first live TV interview since that infamous appearance on This Morning last October.

This time, an upbeat Kezza was quizzed by GMTV’s Mr Nice Guy Andrew Castle - and appeared alongside a clinical psychologist, who was able to offer expert insights into Kerry’s bipolar disorder.

So what’s new? Well, Kerry still seems very hurt and upset by the criticism she’s received over her This Morning appearance. She also admitted she’d skipped taking her medication last night for fear of slurring her words again today.

Now, I’m certainly not Kerry’s biggest fan - and I’d rather watch paint dry than sit through her MTV reality show - but I do feel we should all cut her some slack and show a little more understanding where her illness is concerned.

But could she really be a role model for fellow sufferers? Or is it time for her to stop living her life in the public eye?

Paris gets in the picture

Poor Paris Hilton. Apparently, the hotel heiress was so exhausted following 16 consecutive nights of partying in Cannes and London, she decided to cut her European trip short.

So what did she do when she got back to the US? Er… she went to a party, of course. The occasion? The 37th annual FiFi Awards in New York.

(No, I didn’t know what the FiFi Awards were either - but apparently, the event is organised by the Fragrance Foundation to honour big names from the world of perfume. So Paris really couldn’t have missed that, could she?)

Anyway, as you can see, Paris struck a familiar pose with boyfriend Doug Reinhardt (above) - before indulging in some slightly awkward air-kissing with her mum Kathy Hilton…

 

Indeed, it looks like Paris wouldn’t budge from the red carpet - because she then had her picture taken with fellow guest Queen Latifah…

 

Ah, Queen L looks chuffed to bits, doesn’t she?

However, it seems one high-profile party-goer did manage to avoid posing with Paris. Quick-thinking Dustin Hoffman hid behind his wife Lisa Gottsegen until the coast was clear…

Here’s the hardest-working fashionista in showbiz Peaches Geldof launching the new Miss Ultimo underwear range in Debenhams on London’s Oxford Street yesterday afternoon.

Anything to say, Peaches? Well, yes, actually. “It’s better for young people to see someone like me modelling, rather than a skinny model,” the tattooed 20-year-old told reporters. “I have an achievable body.”

Give me a C! Give me an H! Give me an E, R, Y, L! What have we got? Cheryl! Wooooooh!

Ahem! Sorry about that - I’ll just put my pom-poms down for a second and explain… Cheryl Cole has just topped her 97th poll of the year - and this time she’s been voted men’s top fantasy celebrity cheerleader.

Kelly Brook took second place in the survey of 3,000 men by fixtures service Sportingfix.com, closely followed by Kylie Minogue, Holly Willoughby and Keira Knightley. Gosh - I bet they’ll all be delighted with the news.

“There are some gorgeous girls on the list, but for me it‘s got to be Cheryl,” says the service’s ever-so-slightly creepy-sounding managing director Nick McBoyle. “It would be great if we could actually get the girls together to shake their pom-poms.” Dream on, Nick, dream on…

Still, I think it’s only fair that we redress the balance by voting for our top fantasy male celebrity cheerleaders.

Personally, I’d like to be cheered on by David Beckham, Peter Kay, Barack Obama, Philip Glenister and the dad out of Britain’s Got Talent’s Stavros Flatley. Possibly.

Lily: ‘SuBo is overrated’

As much as I like Lily Allen, I do feel she could start an argument in an empty room sometimes.

The latest? Our Lils has committed treason of the highest order by suggesting that national treasure/tabloid darling Susan Boyle isn’t necessarily the best singer in the whole world.

Lily wrote on her Twitter page: “I thought her timing was off on Britain’s Got Talent on Sunday - no control, and I don’t think she has an amazing voice.

“She can sing, but it’s not about talent with her, is it? She seems like a lovely lady but if the show is about talent, that Shaheen kid should win.”

Want to be like the 90210 girls?

Controversial celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe says the über-glamorous, over-privileged, super-skinny teenagers in US teen drama 90210 are good fashion role models for young girls.

“I think it’s fantasy,” Rachel tells Hello! magazine. “It’s not meant for every 16-year-old girl to run out and buy the new Christian Dior bag. It’s meant to say, ‘This is what I’d like to look like,’ and for girls to run out to Topshop or Urban Outfitters and create a similar style for very little money.”

 

Rachel (above) - who’s worked with Nicole Richie, Mischa Barton and Lindsay Lohan in the past - also hit back at claims that she uses oversized bags and huge sunglasses to emphasise her clients’ small frames.

“I never think about skinniness when I’m getting dressed or dressing anyone,” she says. “It’s just the style I’m most comfortable with. If people like big glasses and big bags, that’s great. It’s just an exaggerated style.”

The Hollywood star’s Twitter addiction continues unabated, folks. She’s just posted several unflattering pics of herself on the dentist’s chair in the midst of having some work done. As you do.

The actress joked with her Twitter followers: “Happy to share and always appreciate the opportunity to find humility!!! Or at least be able to laugh at myself!”

Mel Gibson: ‘Call me Octo-Mel’

Hollywood hotshot Mel Gibson is set to become a father for the eighth time - and now wants us all to refer to him as “Octo-Mel”. (Gosh - I wonder how long it took him to think that one up.)

The actor - who already has seven kids with estranged wife Robyn - confirmed rumours that his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva is pregnant during an appearance on Tonight With Jay Leno.

Robyn filed for divorce six weeks ago, although it seems the marriage ended in 2006. There was no pre-nuptial agreement, which means Robyn could be in line for the biggest divorce payout in history.

“Our marriage ended three years ago and we’ve been separated ever since then,” Mel - sorry, Octo-Mel - told Jay Leno. “These things happen. It’s unfortunate, it’s sad, but she is an admirable woman - we still got kids together. We’re friends.”

Octo-Mel, 53, met singer Oksana, 38, last year - but claims he fell in love with her voice before he’d even seen her face. However, Mel told Jay he has no plans to marry again. “Who would do it twice?” he quipped.

Incidentally, Oksana already has a 12-year-old son from her previous relationship with former James Bond star, Timothy Dalton. Well I never!

Paris and Peaches party in London

Ah, that’s nice.

The party-tastic Cannes Film Festival may have been and gone but new best friends Peaches Geldof and Paris Hilton have been out clubbing together again, this time in London.

The pair met up at Baroque on Burlington Street last night - although it seems they didn’t swap notes on the dress code beforehand. Peaches went all “rock chick” in a Crystal Stilts T-shirt and leather jacket, while Paris opted for her new favourite “flapper girl” style.

 

And once again, I have to ask: where was Paris’s British Best Friend Samuel Hextall? I do hope the two of them haven’t fallen out already. Otherwise, it makes Ms Hilton’s entire find-a-friend ITV2 show look like a total sham. (Ahem!)

In other Paris-related news, the hotel heiress has taken to her blog to slam reports that she was thrown out of a yacht party in Cannes after a spot of overzealous canoodling with boyfriend Doug Reinhardt.

Paris writes: “That story some tabloid ran about my boyfriend and I on a yacht is such a lie that it’s a joke. That was my good friend’s boat and first of all, she would never ask me to leave, and second of all, I would never do that.”

Here’s Kylie Minogue halfway through a rousing rendition of ‘I’m A Little Teapot’ in front of the paparazzi at Friday night’s Dolce & Gabbana party in Cannes.

Everyone’s favourite pop princess stole the show in a hot pink dress. And if you’re wondering why she looks even happier than usual, rumour has it she’s set to marry her boyfriend Andres Velencoso.

And where did the rumour come from? Well, when asked by the nice man from the News of the World whether she was set to tie the knot, Kylie reportedly blushed, looked down at her feet and said, “Er… I really couldn’t say.”

Hmmm… it’s not quite cast-iron confirmation of an engagement, is it? But, hey, we’ll take it!

Anyway, want to know who else was at the D&G party? Pixie and Peaches Geldof showed up - but because we’ve seen so many pics of the style-conscious siblings recently, I thought I’d show you a couple of supermodel shots instead.

Jack and George - together at last!

It’s what the world’s been waiting for, folks!

Celebrity jailbirds Jack Tweed and Boy George are reportedly teaming up to become a DJ double act. According to The Sun, the pair agreed to launch a club night together after meeting at Edmunds Hill prison in Suffolk.

“At first Jack wasn’t sure, but now he thinks it’s a great idea,” a source told the newspaper. “They both realise it will take a lot to resurrect their careers, but think they stand a better chance if they pair up.”

Hmmm… I wonder if this “mystery source” is the same person who told the tabloids all about Jack’s plans to become a TV presenter last week.

Anyway, you may or may not be interested to know that Jack is due out of prison on Friday - so we won’t have long to wait to find out what his plans are. Excited?

There was much excitement at London’s Stamford Bridge yesterday as some of the hottest names in showbiz (ahem!) turned out for the annual Soccer Six charity football tournament.

Among the stars? Michelle Heaton took time out from her busy schedule to take part - despite fears that the sizzling temperatures could play havoc with her fake tan.

Supermodel Caprice showed up in a lovely pair of jeans, which she was clearly very keen to show off to photographers…

 

Meanwhile, X Factor singer Austin Drage looked rather pleased with himself as he treated everyone to the sight of his bare torso…

 

And former Libertine Carl Barat did his best to look cool - despite being surrounded by reality TV stars and paparazzi…

Stars mix things up at cocktail party

Last night saw some of our favourite celebrities bowl up for the Cinema Against Aids cocktail party at Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc in Antibes, just along the coast from Cannes.

Among them? Liz Hurley (above) looked rather lovely in a strapless sky blue gown - while Dita Von Teese was as eye-popping as ever in this see-through creation by Jean-Paul Gaultier…

 

Before showing up to the party, the burlesque queen posted on Twitter: “My dress should get me suitably ridiculed in the US = success!”

Well, the Americans might mock, Dita - but here in Penge, everyone loves your frock. In fact, I’m thinking of wearing something similar when I nip down to Lidl after I’ve finished this blog.

Meanwhile, a super-glammed-up Hayden Panettiere spent a rare night away from rumoured new fella, T4 love god Steve Jones…

 

And Verne Troyer showed up - making one of his first public appearances since he was so cruelly robbed of Celebrity Big Brother glory by Ulrika Jonsson earlier in the year…

 

Finally, Annie Lennox took to the stage and dedicated a song to late actress Natasha Richardson…

 

I’m not sure Annie’s gloves were wholly necessary - but each to their own…

Anyway, it sounds like the evening was a roaring success - largely thanks to a charity auction, hosted by leg-flasher extraordinaire Sharon Stone.

Among the items up for grabs were a kiss from Robert Pattinson, a tennis lesson with Monica Seles and a cigar saxophone autographed by Bill Clinton. Nice!

Uh-oh! Paris Hilton has mislaid her BlackBerry during yet another night out on the tiles in Cannes.

The hard-partying heiress told the nice man from the Daily Mail: “It’s the worst thing that could have happened. It has all my contacts in it and the last thing I want is for it to fall into the wrong hands.”

So could everyone please take five minutes to have a quick search round and see if you can spot it anywhere? If we all pull together, I’m sure it’ll turn up very soon.

And if you do find it, I suppose the best thing to do is to call one of Paris’s mates and let them know you’ve got it. Nicole Richie? Peaches Geldof? Katie Price? The choice is yours!

Personally, I’d call Paris’s British Best Friend Samuel Hextall, as I’m sure the two of them are in touch with one another every day. Oh yes.

Simon Cowell for Prime Minister!

Sick of lying, cheating, expenses-fiddling politicians? Think it’s about time we put someone in charge of the country who really knows what they’re doing? Simon Cowell is the man for the job, according to a new online poll.

The high-trousered talent show mogul topped a new survey by an internet company to uncover the celebrity we’d most like to see take over as Prime Minister.

In second place? It’s the absolutely fabulous Joanna Lumley, who’s already taken to hanging around outside No.10...

 

National treasure Sir Trevor McDonald came in third, followed by the slightly unusual choice of Radio 1 bigmouth Chris Moyles. Hmmm…

But, I hear you cry, what about Cheryl Cole? Surely the ever-fragrant pop princess is the right woman to lead our country out of recession?

Well, you may or may not be reassured to hear that our Chezza shared fifth place with comb-shy granddad-botherer Russell Brand. What a double act!

And finally, newly single glamour girl and international businesswoman Katie Price came seventh. Well, being PM is one of the few jobs she hasn’t done yet - so I’m sure she’d rise to the challenge. And make an ITV2 reality show about it.

Still, I can’t help thinking one person’s name is sorely missing from this list. Yes, what about Susan Boyle? She did dream a dream, after all…

Jack lines up TV career

And so the world turns…

Apparently, Jade Goody’s widower Jack Tweed - who’s currently serving a 12-week prison term for attacking a cabbie - is hoping to be a free man by the end of the month.

So what’s he going to do next? Well, according to The Sun, he’s going to be a TV presenter. “We’re talking to producers about half a dozen projects for Jack,” says his spokesman. “Nothing’s been signed off yet, but there are some good ideas being discussed.”

Meanwhile, a mysterious “friend” tells the newspaper: “For obvious reasons, Jack’s profile is pretty huge so he’s looking at how to make the most of that. He’s had a horrendous time recently so is desperate to get his life back on track.

“Many people want him to do things about life with Jade and he’s considering anything that honours her memory. He’s also very interested in presenting things - or doing stuff involving DJing and clubbing.”

Cheryl and Jen - best of friends?

You’ll doubtless be shocked to your very core to hear that Cheryl Cole has topped a poll to find the UK’s most wanted celebrity best friend.

The pop princess beat Jennifer Aniston into second place - despite the fact that the former Friends star is reportedly a brilliant buddy. Indeed, we have it on good authority that she’ll be there for you when the rain starts to fall. (Sorry!)

US First Lady Michelle Obama came third on the list, just ahead of TV presenters Davina McCall and Fearne Cotton.

And the celebrity we’d least like to have as a best friend? It’s poor Kerry Katona…

 

Hmmm… maybe people were just put off by the thought of Kerry’s husband Mark Croft hanging around in the background all the time.

Katie and Peter: stars speak out

As the Katie Price and Peter Andre break-up saga rumbles on, a mishmash of celebrities have been weighing in with their views on the shock split.

The latest? Former Spice Girl Mel B - who dated Peter 12 years ago, fact fans - says she hopes the couple get back together.

“Peter’s a great guy - it’s a really sad situation,” she ponders. “We’ve all made mistakes. I know my husband has done some crazy things in the past but I love him like mad, and he loves me.

“Pete should give Katie a second chance. Everyone deserves one. From what I know, they’re madly in love - and love conquers all.”

 

Meanwhile, reality-star-turned-part-time-Wag Chantelle Houghton comes down firmly on Pete’s side. “I think it was inevitable,” she insists. “You could see they weren’t happy and it always seems like she treats poor Pete like s***.

“Even though Katie slated me when I got divorced, I know how hard it is, so now I hope she realises when you’re going through such a hard time, it’s not nice when people put the boot in.”

 

And finally, TV funnyman Alan Carr seems to think it may all just be a publicity stunt. “If it’s genuine, then I feel sorry for them,” he says. “But if we’re going to get another ITV2 show out of it, my sympathy evaporates.”

Who’s signed up for Footloose remake?

Remember Footloose? If not, ask your mum.

The classic 1984 movie - which tells the tale of what happens when a city boy bowls up to a small town where music and dancing have been banned - is about to get the Hollywood remake treatment.

And him-out-of-Gossip-Girl Chace Crawford has just signed up to reprise Kevin Bacon’s original lead role.

Chace reportedly stepped in after his Tinseltown lookalike Zac Efron decided to “cut loose“ from the role. (See what I did there?) I suppose Zac just realised he’d been to enough big-screen high school dances to last him a lifetime.

So now the hunt is on to find a suitable leading lady - and a few big names are already in the frame. Some examples? Hayden Panettiere, Miley Cyrus and Hairspray’s Amanda Bynes.

Tara flashes her knickers

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

It seems erstwhile It girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson’s lack of tabloid column inches over recent months has driven her to adopt extreme new tactics to tempt the paparazzi.

As you can see, TPT wore a white miniskirt, studded boots and… erm… white knickers for yesterday’s Royston Blythe hair salon party at the Dorchester hotel in London…

 

Well, it was very windy in the capital yesterday. Perhaps it was a genuine wardrobe malfunction. (Now if you’ll excuse me for a second, I’ve just got to go and wave at the pig that’s flying past my window.)

Anyway, you’ll be pleased to hear that most other celebrity party guests managed not to flash their knickers. Indeed, Gary Lineker and Danielle Bux looked positively demure…

 

And national treasure Barbara Windsor demonstrated admirable stamina by going out partying for a second night on the trot, having attended Samantha Janus’s wedding on Sunday…

 

Actually, maybe she just didn’t bother going home in between the two parties. That’s our girl!

Victoria flees Queen Vic regulars

Here’s laugh-a-minute Victoria Beckham hotfooting it through Heathrow on her way back to Los Angeles yesterday afternoon. (Note the man behind her who gets to carry her oversized white bag. What an honour!)

Mrs B jetted off following a whistle-stop trip to Milan and London to spend time with husband David.

The pair reportedly spent the weekend holed up in London’s super-swish Claridge’s - only to discover that EastEnders star Samantha Janus was holding her raucous wedding party in the same venue. Don’t you just hate it when that happens?

Apparently, Posh and Becks politely declined an invitation to join the celebrations, and made a swift exit out of the hotel’s back door instead.

Anyway, as you can see, Mrs B made it back to Tinseltown in one piece - complete with see-through top, huge shades and near-invisible mobile phone - and looked as overjoyed as ever to see the paparazzi at the airport…

 

Oh, and don’t worry: the ever-faithful white-bag-carrier is just out of shot in front of her…

Anna: ‘I told Oprah to lose weight’

I know I’m probably jeopardising my chances of clinching that internship at US Vogue here, but po-faced editor-in-chief Anna Wintour really is a silly old boot sometimes, isn’t she?

The diminutive fashion diva has just revealed that she once told Queen of Everything Oprah Winfrey to lose 20lbs in order to be on the magazine’s front cover back in 1998.

“It was a very gentle suggestion,” Anna says in an unaired segment from a new TV interview. “I went to Chicago to visit Oprah and I suggested it might be an idea that she lose a little bit of weight. I said simply that you might feel more comfortable. She was a trooper!”

Anna also defends the magazine’s use of Photoshop to make people “look their best” on the cover.

“That’s one of the things that makes me rather angry, that I don‘t understand,” she snaps. “That if you look wonderful, does that make you less important? Less powerful? Less serious?”

Oh, and she’s fed up with all this criticism of the magazine’s use of stick-thin models, too.

“I’ve just been on a trip to Minnesota, where I can only kindly describe most of the people I saw as little houses,” she says. “There’s such an epidemic of obesity in the US, and for some reason, everybody focuses on anorexia.”

Well, she may well have a point about the obesity epidemic - but just because that’s a cause for concern, it doesn’t make anorexia any less worrying, does it?

While magazines continue to celebrate the super-skinny and promote unrealistic images of the female form, body image disorders will remain a very real problem among women.

It’s a good old EastEnders wedding!

Ah, that’s nice.

Yesterday saw EastEnders star Samantha Janus tie the knot with long-term partner Mark Womack at a swanky ceremony in London’s Mayfair. (I know - get them! What’s wrong with one of Ian Beale’s sandwich platters at the Queen Vic?)

Still, you’ll doubtless be pleased to hear that many of Sam’s co-stars made the trip up West for her big day - including, of course, Albert Square matriarch Barbara Windsor (above), resident Mr Potato Head, Steve McFadden and mouth-of-the-South Patsy Palmer.

And look! Lacey Turner - who plays Stacey Slater in the soap - showed up with glamour-puss blonde hair…

 

...while Rita Simons and Shona McGarty obligingly kept the paparazzi entertained outside Claridge’s at the end of the evening…

 

Oh, and Kate from The Apprentice Nicole Appleton was there, too…

 

(Sam went to school with the Appleton sisters and Melanie Blatt from All Saints, fact fans.)

Pamela and Katy have a ball!

As you can see, Pamela Anderson was her usual understated self at this weekend’s Vienna Ball - an annual fundraiser for Aids charities.

Good old Pammy poked fun at her “trailer trash” image by taking to the stage with a ghetto blaster, while sporting a revealing gold leotard, big sunglasses and big, big hair. Why? Well, why not?

Earlier in the evening, the former Baywatch star arrived at the event flanked by two friends and wearing this outfit, which I can’t quite find the right words to describe…

 

Mind you, she wasn’t the only celebrity to make a grand entrance. Singer Katy Perry arrived on stage in a giant shell. As you do.

 

I must say she looks suitably excited by the whole experience, doesn’t she?

The star-studded audience included former US president Bill Clinton, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria-Parker and, perhaps a little less excitingly, him-out-of-the-Eurythmics Dave Stewart.

Paris goes to France

Everyone’s favourite hotel heiress Paris Hilton appears to have completed a rather impressive U-turn over a fly-on-the-wall documentary she once tried to have banned.

Poor Paris was concerned about the way she was portrayed in Paris, Not France, a three-year-old film directed by Adria Petty.

But, hey, that’s all in the past now - and Ms Hilton has bowled up to the Cannes Film Festival to help promote the documentary. However, one minute’s worth of material has now been cut from the footage. Hmmm… I wonder what was in it.

Apparently, it’ll be shown on MTV later in the year - but in the meantime, you can watch the trailer here:

Who fluttered to the Butterfly Ball?

Last night saw a mishmash of glammed-up celebrities head to London’s Battersea Park for the Butterfly Ball, held in aid of the Caudwell Children charity to raise money for disabled kids.

So who was the belle of the ball? Well, it’s a close call between several red carpet regulars.

Liz Hurley (above) has been accused by certain tabloids of “showing off her cleavage” at the event. But on the contrary, I think she looks fairly “battened-down” for once.

Rachel Stevens looked as stunning as ever in a long black gown…

 

And Liz McClarnon scrubbed up rather nicely, too…

 

Incidentally, the former Atomic Kitten is now such a regular fixture at these events, I’m surprised she has time to do anything else. Actually, what does she do nowadays?

Meanwhile, the male attendees also looked rather dapper. As ever, it was nice to see Bruce Forsyth and his son Jonathan…

 

To see them, nice.

Other guests? Penny Lancaster-Stewart, Chris Eubank, Esther Rantzen, Phil Tufnell, Danny Cipriani and The X Factor’s Austin Drage. Let’s hope they all dug deep for the charity!

Jordan in ‘dignified silence’ shocker!

It’s OK - we can all stop panicking!

Having fled the country to an “undisclosed location” earlier in the week, Katie Price has now been tracked down to a luxurious £2,800-a-night holiday villa in the Maldives. Phew! And there I was, thinking she’d run away to join a nunnery…

Still, amid all the rumours and counter-rumours doing the rounds about Katie’s break-up with husband Peter Andre, it’s hard to know what to believe.

But so far, it seems the erstwhile glamour girl is refusing to talk to the press - although she has been updating her Twitter page. Her latest post? “Keeping a dignified silence. Any comments in the press have not come from me.”

The mum-of-three has taken son Junior and daughter Princess on the trip - although her eldest son Harvey remains at home in the UK.

Katie also writes: “Missing Harvey so much, wish he was here. But had to stay at home for his routine and health and did not want to disrupt that.”

Hmmm… I get the feeling this story’s set to run and run. If only we could all nip away to the Maldives to escape for a while.

But in the meantime, I can’t help thinking the couple will get back together eventually. They’ll renew their vows, make a TV show about it, then carry on as they were before. Do you agree?

Why’s Lily Allen wearing a wedding dress?

Actually, your guess is as good as mine - although, I have to say, she does look very nice in it.

 

Lily wore the slightly OTT gown - accessorised with black bag and black nails - to a party at London’s Groucho Club to celebrate the launch of Samantha Morton’s new made-for-TV movie, The Unloved.

Any awkward moments? Well, apparently, the singer nearly came face to face with artist Sam Taylor-Wood for the first time since her fling with Sam’s ex-husband Jay Jopling.

However, the pair managed to give one another a wide berth - and Lily slipped outside for a smoke with Jaime Winstone…

 

Ah, it looks just like a scene from a real wedding party, doesn’t it?

It's Jonas Brothers mania!

Think the Jonas Brothers are just a trio of squeaky-clean Disney dullards who make Miley Cyrus look like Courtney Love?

Well, thousands of teenage girls beg to differ - and many of them descended on London's Leicester Square last night to see their heroes in the flesh.

The occasion? The UK premiere of the singing siblings' "rockumentary" (cough!), the inventively titled Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience.

Naturally, the trio - Kevin, 20, Joe, 19, and Nick, 15 - took time to meet their fans, sign autographs, pose for pictures and admire some of the awesome artwork on display...

 

But, secretly, I'm sure they weren't truly able to relax until they knew the UK's foremost film critics Sam and Amanda Marchant had definitely shown up for the screening...

 

Phew - there they are! You know the saying by now, folks: if the twins ain't seen it, it ain't worth seeing.

But that's not all! Also popping by en route to the Loaded magazine 15th birthday party was reality TV regular Bianca Gascoigne...

 

Other stars in attendance? Silver fox Philip Schofield brought his family along, Simon Cowell's mate Sinitta showed up with her kids, and... er... TV diet expert/poo-sifter Gillian McKeith was there, too. What a turnout!

The latest? Everyone's favourite chart-topping fashion victim wore a gyroscope-style head-thingy (yes, that is its official name - possibly) during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in the US.

Ever the pro, the host managed to keep a straight face throughout the slightly bizarre interview - despite nearly being knocked out by the head-thingy when she first greeted her guest.

It's been several weeks since a top-selling men's magazine last unveiled a scrupulously researched list of sexy women. So - what d'you know? - another Hot 100 has just turned up, this time courtesy of Maxim magazine in the US.

But rather than opt for the obvious, the Maxim team have decreed that Olivia Wilde is currently the sexiest woman alive.

Can't quite place her? Olivia's acting CV includes the role of Alex Kelly in teen drama The OC, and she currently plays Dr Remy Hadley in House.

Transformers star Megan Fox comes a close second on the list...

 

...and supermodel Bar Refaeli is third...

 

Other notables? Britney Spears is at No.17, Scarlett Johansson is relatively far down the list at No.34, and Michelle Obama - "the hottest First Lady in history", according to Maxim - is at No.93.

Meanwhile, under-fire party girl Lindsay Lohan is at No.23 - three places above Angelina Jolie at No.26. Hmmm...

But - perhaps most shockingly of all for us Brits - seasoned poll-topper Cheryl Cole is nowhere to be seen! How rude!

As those of you with a penchant for Z-list celebrity trivia may recall, footballer Teddy Sheringham first met former girlfriend Danielle Lloyd when he was sitting on the judging panel for Miss Great Britain.

Fast-forward several years to the 2009 competition - and guess who Teddy met this time? Only his old England teammate Paul Gascoigne! What a lovely surprise!

Still, as you'd expect, there were plenty of glamour models, reality stars, pop has-beens, Wags and soap favourites knocking around, too.

Some examples? Well, here's newly published author Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace looking positively demure for once...

 

And here's another former Big Brother housemate Chanelle Hayes...

 

Hmmm... I think she's well and truly got over her Victoria Beckham obsession now - don't you?

And here's a heart-warming snap of prize berk David Van Day giving his daughter Amber a lift home...

 

The Miss Great Britain judging panel consisted of Blue's Simon Webbe, ex-Emmerdale favourite Adele Silva and good old Gazza.

The competition was won by Miss Newcastle Sophie Gradon, whose prize includes a fancy hairdo and a necklace. (I'm not making this up, by the way.)

Oh, and presumably if she plays her cards right, she may nab a date with Teddy, too. Fingers crossed, eh?

Ricky! Ben! Samanda!

Last night saw the gala screening of Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian in London's Leicester Square. Naturally, the film's two main stars - Ricky Gervais and Ben Stiller - were there to lap up the attention.

So how did Ricky feel on his big night? "I'm cold, I'm hungry and I have squint teeth," he told reporters. "Other than that, everything is fantastic."

Ricky and Ben were no doubt chuffed to bits to see that the UK's foremost film critics Sam and Amanda Marchant had made the effort to show up...

 

And the twins were probably thrilled to see their former housemate - and Amanda's one-time squeeze - Brian Belo was also there...

 

His companion? It's Shipwrecked star Naomi Millbank-Smith, who was - at least until recently - rumoured to be dating Big Brother 9's Dale Howard. So what's she doing with Brian? They share a manager, apparently.

And another erstwhile reality star, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'s Gemma Atkinson, showed up, too...

 

Other guests? Strictly Come Dancing alumni Matt Di Angelo and Tom Chambers, TV presenter Liz Fuller and him-out-of-Blue Antony Costa. Marvellous!

Holly's had her baby!

Congratulations to Holly Willoughby and her husband Dan Baldwin, who've just become the proud parents of a baby boy.

His name? Harry James Baldwin. Time and place of birth? 1.18pm on Monday in a London hospital. Birth weight? 7lbs 4oz.

Needless to say, Holly's Dancing on Ice colleague, Twitter addict Phillip Schofield, was the first celebrity to respond to the news. His online message? "Congratulations Holly & Dan!!!!" Ah, he loves an exclamation mark, does our Phil...

Let's hope the couple weren't too distracted by their new arrival to find time to follow Phillip on Twitter - or they won't have got the message.

As you may recall, news of Holly's pregnancy first broke when she was presenting last year's Xtra Factor. Tactless twosome Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh both congratulated her live on air - and Holly was obliged to come clean. "Yes, I am pregnant," she grimaced. "I don't know if people know that yet."

Holly's manager has confirmed that "mother and baby are doing well". And chances are we'll meet baby Harry via a glossy magazine shoot very soon. Hurrah!

Who's got a face for radio?

It's the picture you've all been waiting for, folks!

Yep, here's BBC London's Vanessa Feltz and LBC's Nick Ferrari puckering up for the paparazzi outside last night's Sony Radio Academy Awards in London.

The couple were in high spirits for a very good reason: Nessa was named Speech Radio Personality of the Year and Nick was given the gong for Speech Broadcaster of the Year.

The event attracted a bizarre mishmash of stars - ranging from red carpet regular Liz McClarnon...

 

...to Ashes to Ashes superstar Philip Glenister...

 

Gosh - he looks really happy to be there, doesn't he?

Also in attendance? Presenter Kirsty Gallacher turned up in a day-glo dress with her bra poking out...

 

Hmmm... I'm not too sure about that little get-up, truth be told.

And - can you tell who it is yet?

 

TV legend Rolf Harris and his wife Alwen Hughes also turned up, sporting outfits that managed to match and clash at the same time.

See what I mean about it being a bizarre mix of celebrities?

Katie 'devastated' after split from Pete

Heavens to Betsy - this is just insania!

Katie Price has apparently left the country for an undisclosed location, following yesterday's shock news that her four-year marriage to Peter Andre has come to an abrupt end.

The erstwhile glamour model left her Surrey home last night, accompanied by son Junior and daughter Princess. Katie's eldest son Harvey is being looked after by a nanny.

In a statement released shortly before she left, Katie insisted: "Pete is the love of my life, and my life. We have children together and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me, as I married him for life.

"This is not what I want and the decision has been taken out of my hands. I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation, but I will always love my Pete."

I have to admit I was genuinely shocked when I first heard this news - even though rumours of marriage difficulties have been rife for ages. It's still not clear whether this was a snap decision on Pete's part - or something that's been on the cards for months.

So is Katie really going to remain schtum over the break-up? Or will that "undisclosed location" turn out to be a trip to a tropical beach, paid for by OK! magazine in return for a handful of soundbites and 96 shots of a broken-hearted Katie staring out to sea and wandering mournfully along the sand? Your guess is as good as mine!

Still, it may gladden you to know that bookies are offering odds of 2-1 on the couple getting back together by the end of the year. In fact, let's hope they've already signed on the dotted line with ITV2 for Katie and Peter: Reunited.

A picture of seasoned poll-toppers Cheryl Cole and David Beckham? It can only mean one thing! Yep, it's silly survey time again, folks...

Researchers for the Disney Channel polled 2,000 people to find out their fantasy celebrity family. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Becks and Cheryl were named the ideal brother and sister.

And our No.1 fantasy celebrity mum? It's Absolutely Fabulous star and Gurkhas campaigner Joanna Lumley...

 

...while gnome-faced gazillionaire Richard Branson topped the list of fantasy dads...

 

So do you fancy sitting down to Sunday dinner with that little lot? Personally, I think I may feel a little overwhelmed, and eat my lunch from a tray in front of the telly instead.

Blimey - Transformers star Megan Fox seems to have had a lot to say for herself recently.

For starters? She's not interested in men under 30 - despite rumours of a recent dalliance with Twilight's Robert Pattinson. "I just randomly asked someone for a light, and it was him," she tells Elle magazine. "That was the extent of our 'relationship'.

"He and Zac Efron - they're just too pretty, with the big hair and the suits. Boys in their twenties are a waste of time. They have nothing to offer conversationally. They're immature. I feel like I have a better shot with someone in his thirties."

Incidentally, Megan - who turns 23 this week - is currently dating actor Brian Austin Green. Brian is 35, shirks big hair and suits - and is doubtless fascinating to talk to.

Meanwhile, the actress has also taken a little pop at fellow Hollywood hottie Scarlett Johansson. So what's the problem with ScarJo? Not big hair and suits again, surely?

Nope - it's just that Megan doesn't want to have to prove how smart she really is. "I don't want to have to be like a Scarlett - who I have nothing against," she tells Esquire magazine.

"But I don't want to have to go on talk shows and pull out every single SAT word I've ever learned, to prove, like, 'Take me seriously, I am intelligent, I can speak.' I don't want to have to do that. I resent having to prove that I'm not a retard."

Hmmm... any thoughts?

Stars scrub up for the Soap Awards

I'm sad to say there was a distinct shortage of fashion disasters and wardrobe malfunctions at Saturday night's British Soap Awards.

Tsk! I thought the whole point of these events is to provide the tabloids with pictures of little-known Hollyoaks stars in see-through/clashing/ripped clothes. Er... isn't it?

But instead, everyone scrubbed up rather nicely. As you can see from our picture above, EastEnders actress Kara Tointon looked gorgeous in a feathered frock.

Want to know where it's from? "It's by Guess - I found it in the back of my sister's wardrobe," Kara told reporters.

Meanwhile, Coronation Street's Kym Marsh wore a stunning off-the-shoulder design by Alexander McQueen...

 

And fellow Corrie star Katherine Kelly - who later picked up the Best Actress gong - wore a baby blue minidress with plunging back...

 

Meanwhile, Albert Square favourite Cheryl Fergison was swept off her feet by co-star Cliff Parisi...

 

Ah, that's nice, isn't it?

Still, those members of the paparazzi who could be bothered to stick around long enough did manage to get one candid shot of a soap star looking a bit silly.

Here's Hollyoaks-turned-EastEnders-turned-Hollyoaks-again actress Gemma Bissix, having taken a tumble outside her hotel in the early hours, following a "tired and emotional" time at the awards after-party...

 

Hmmm... I suppose it'll have to do.

Nicole and Rubina's bizarre new ad

Schhhh... Don't tell anyone but Nicole Kidman has teamed up with Slumdog Millionaire's super-cute star Rubina Ali and Bollywood heart-throb Arjun Rampal to make a new French ad for a soft drink.

And - whisper it! - it's all a bit weird and confusing. But don't take my word for it: you can watch for yourselves here...

Bizarre, isn't it?

Still, according to Rubina's dad Rafiq Ali, his daughter got paid more for the minute-long ad than she did for weeks of work on Slumdog. Hmmm... let's hope nobody showed him Nicole's payslip.

Nikki and Natalie - together at last!

Oooh - I never knew that ex-EastEnder Natalie Cassidy and former Big Brother star Nikki Grahame were friends. Did you?

Still, here's the proof... The pair were pictured together outside London's Embassy club last night, having attended the launch of Nikki's new book, Dying To Be Thin...

 

As the title suggests, the book reveals the full extent of Nikki's battle with eating disorders. Hmmm... those Big Brother star confessionals are coming thick and fast at the moment, aren't they?

As you probably recall, Natalie also recently revealed the extent of her own weight battles - so maybe that's where she's found some common ground with Nikki.

Anyway, want to know who else was at the book launch? Of course you do!

Prize berk David Van Day showed up with his apparently-8ft-tall girlfriend Sue Moxley...

 

And, in the absence of any film premieres last night, Sam and Amanda Marchant turned up, too...

 

Talking of which, surely it won't be long until those two have a book out...

Posh shows us her pants (again)

Good old Victoria Beckham! It's been a fantastic week for Posh-spotters as Mrs B has been popping up all over New York in noteworthy outfits.

And - guess what? It's all been leading up to this moment yesterday, when the former Spice Girl unveiled her latest set of raunchy lingerie ads for Emporio Armani at department store Macy's.

  

Shoppers who shelled out for the Posh-endorsed undies were treated to a meet-and-greet with the woman herself - who dressed for the occasion in sparkly leggings and a black jacket with plunging neckline.

Oh, and her hair looked slightly different from usual, too...

 

Blimey - it's all go at the moment, isn't it?

Who showed up for Aisleyne's book launch?

At last - the moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived! Former Big Brother star Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace has written her autobiography - and it's available to buy from today.

Now, I have to admit I was all ready to mock - but, having checked out the blurb on Amazon, Aisleyne: Surviving Guns, Gangs and Glamour actually sounds quite good.

For example, did you know that her early childhood was spent in a "crazy punk household" where Siouxsie Sioux and Boy George were regular visitors?

 

Anyway, I digress... Aisleyne's book launch party took place at London's Studio Valbonne last night - and all the stars were there. Well, Jodie Marsh showed up, at any rate...

 

Hmmm... I could be wrong but I think that may be the most covered-up we've ever seen her.

Still, maybe new boyfriend Ryan Fleming had something to do with it...

 

Yep, Jodie's split from her lesbian lover now - do keep up!

Aisleyne's Big Brother buddy Imogen Thomas also turned up to support her friend...
