Last night saw the unveiling of New Look's... er... new look for Autumn/Winter 2009 at The Dairy in London - and all the stars were there.

Big Brother twins Sam and Amanda Marchant sported playsuits in clashing prints for the occasion - while BB7 tantrum princess Nikki Grahame opted for a rather sweet '60s-style frock...

 

...and Peaches Geldof struck a slightly awkward pose in black...

 

Meanwhile, fellow rock offspring Amber Le Bon somehow made a pair of Deirdre Barlow specs look supercool...

 

But remember, that look wouldn't work for just anyone!

Incidentally, Amber is currently following in her mum Yasmin's footsteps by signing up for plenty of high-profile modelling contracts: she's just done a very impressive shoot for Moschino, fact fans.

And following last night's appearance, what's the betting the people from Specsavers are on the phone to her agent right now?

Gemma: 'I turned down Maradona'

Former Hollyoaks star and erstwhile Wag Gemma Atkinson has revealed she once turned down the advances of Argentinian handball legend, Diego Maradona.

Apparently, the pair bumped into one another at a charity footie match - and the pint-size cheat immediately began to shower Gemma with compliments.

"He said I had beautiful eyes and I was like, 'Wow, thanks,' but he's so short, he's tiny," Gemma recalls, before somewhat blowing her cool by adding: "I saw him at this match so I went up to him and asked for a picture and an autograph. He was a really nice guy, but he was very short."

Yeah - back off, Titch.

Her latest ensemble? A slashed-to-the-thigh hot pink evening dress and silver shoes. The occasion? A party at New York's Lowell Hotel. Her date for the evening? Husband Arun Nayar, of course. Ah, just look at the love in their eyes...

SJP's expecting twins!

Big congratulations to Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick, who've just announced that they're expecting twin girls.

The couple are said to be "overjoyed", having been trying to extend their family for several years.

Now, if your knee-jerk reaction to that news is to wonder what this means for the Sex and the City sequel, you're probably not alone (ahem)!

But don't panic! The twins are due through a surrogate mother later this summer. So that means SJP can squeeze in a good few weeks of filming before she's up to her elbows in baby food, nappies and Manolo Blahnik bootees... Hurrah!

Yep, it's the question that keeps many of us awake at night: who has the best breasts in Hollywood?

Well, now we can all sleep soundly, safe in the knowledge that Scarlett Johansson is in possession of Tinseltown's loveliest jubblies - according to a new exhaustive poll conducted by US TV show Access Hollywood.

In second place? It's newlywed superstar Salma Hayek...

 

Er... yes, her cleavage is rather impressive, isn't it?

And Halle Berry - seen here at last night's Wolverine premiere - came third...

CZJ wants to play SuBo!

Heavens to Betsy! Susan Boyle has barely been famous for 15 minutes - and Hollywood hotshots are already lining up to make a movie about her life.

According to the Daily Mail, Catherine Zeta-Jones is "desperate" to land the film rights so she can take on the role of SuBo herself - while Titanic director James Cameron has reportedly expressed interest in a similar project.

"All these people are coming out and want to be associated with her," a Britain's Got Talent insider blabbed to the newspaper. "She's the biggest thing in the world. It's mental." Indeed.

Still, if CZJ does land the role of Susan, who should play the BGT judges? Personally, I can see Rupert Everett as Simon Cowell, Hugh Grant as Piers Morgan and Kelly Brook as Amanda Holden... How about you?

Jacko takes the kids shopping

Ah, that's nice. Michael Jackson took his three kids out shopping in Los Angeles yesterday.

As ever, Jacko did his best to remain low-key and unremarkable by wearing a bright green jacket, red patterned trousers, black hat, scarf, shades and surgical mask.

 

Meanwhile, Paris, Prince and Blanket sported Venetian festival masks, and were photographed in front of a strange plastic figure...

Celebrities give thanks for Hanks!

Last night saw a starry, starry turnout at New York's Lincoln Center for a gala dinner and awards ceremony held in honour of Tom Hanks.

Hollywood's Mr Nice Guy showed up with wife Rita Wilson, who claims her favourite on-screen performance from Tom is "as a father in our home movies". Awww...

But the gushing and back-slapping didn't stop there! Julia Roberts made a rare public appearance to honour her old mate...

 

"Tom's the great quintessential actor," she trilled. "He does everything from the campy comedies like Bosom Buddies to Castaway. Everyone asks what Tom is like. He's what you want him to be."

Hmmm... I seem to have neglected to watch Bosom Buddies - but I'm sure it's a silver-screen triumph.

Anyway, fellow Oscar-winner Charlize Theron also showed up...

 

Asked whether Tom is really as nice as he appears, Charlize told reporters: "No, but his talent makes up for it." Still, she was only joking - I think.

And Christy Turlington seemed to be having a right old laugh...

 

Maybe she was just recalling her favourite hilarious scene from Bosom Buddies...

Cheryl and Ashley: dull or radiant?

It probably won't surprise you to learn that Cheryl Cole has topped another pointless poll. But this time, devoted husband Ashley can bask in the glory alongside her. Ah, it couldn't happen to a nicer person...

Yep, Mr and Mrs Cole have been voted the UK's most radiant celebrity couple in a 1,000-people survey carried out by beauty company Simple. That's right: radiant! Try not to be too dazzled when you look at Ashley in our photograph.

And the second most radiant couple in the land? It's Conservative leader David Cameron and his wife Samantha, apparently...

 

Well, each to their own.

Meanwhile, poor old Gordon Brown and wife Sarah were voted the UK's dullest couple, nabbing a massive 68% of votes cast...

 

And just to add insult to injury, they came in ahead of diehard dullards Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Still, it seems there's neither rhyme nor reason to these polls sometimes. Katie Price and Peter Andre also found their way on to the "dull" list, taking 5% of the votes to come fourth.

Now that's just silly, isn't it? Are Katie and Peter ubiquitous? Definitely. Annoying? Maybe. But dull? Never!

Night of 1,000 TV stars

It was national treasures a-go-go at yesterday's TV BAFTAs - but this little line-up comes top of the pile for me.

Yep, it's everyone's favourite EastEnders stars Barbara Windsor, June Brown and Ross Kemp all done up in their Sunday best! What a shame glamourpuss June didn't win the Best Actress gong, though...

Also worthy of note: Jonathan Ross and Jane Goldman smiled nicely for the cameras - even though they must have known Jonathan didn't really stand a chance in hell of winning the Entertainment Performance award...

 

Incidentally, the Daily Mail insists Wossy was "humiliated" at last night's ceremony because he didn't win. Er... he lost out to Harry Hill, as did Stephen Fry and Ant and Dec. That's hardly humiliating, is it? Tsk!

Meanwhile, Davina McCall swanned along the red carpet in a flowing blue gown...

 

Asked by a reporter who she'd like to be played by in Jade: The Musical, Davina opted for Sandra Bullock. Hmmm...

Best dressed on the red carpet? For what it's worth, my vote goes to Skins stars Kaya Scodelario and Hannah Murray...

 

...although Graham Norton's jacket must get a special mention...

 

It's by Dolce & Gabbana, you know. Oooh - get him!

SJP upstaged by husband's sideburns

Heavens to Betsy! I almost didn't noticed Sarah Jessica Parker in this picture - so mesmerised was I by her husband Matthew Broderick's incredible sideburns.

SJP was out to support Matt on the opening night of his new Broadway play, The Philanthropist, at New York's Roundabout Theatre Company.

So what's it all about? Apparently, Matthew plays a nice-guy professor at an elite British university, who refuses to succumb to his colleagues' excessively critical ways and winds up destroying his own credibility - presumably by growing some humungous mutton chops...

What a marathon effort!

Congratulations to everyone who completed yesterday's London Marathon and raised millions of pounds for charity.

But which celebrities took part? Model and all-round-nice-person Nell McAndrew completed her fourth London Marathon in a hugely impressive time of just three hours and 10 minutes to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Support Our Soldiers.

Meanwhile, Gordon and Tana Ramsay both ran the race, too - no doubt spurred on by the thought of the lovely ready meals that would be waiting for them at the finish line. Gordon finished in four hours and 25 minutes but complained that it got "hotter and hotter" on the way round.

And hotfoot from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief, Boyzone's Ronan Keating completed the race - in four hours and 15 minutes, fact fans - to raise money for Cancer Research UK and the Marie Keating Foundation, the charity set up in memory of his mum.

 

"I hurt the whole way round," he later told the BBC.

 

Other stars who covered the gruelling 26.2 miles? Big Brother 3 winner Kate Lawler (above), who dressed as a cavewoman for the occasion (as you do); GMTV's Jenni Falconer who dashed off to the TV BAFTAs straight afterwards; and Ronan's Boyzone bandmate Keith Duffy, who ran for the National Autistic Society.

Anyone else? Oh yes, I nearly forgot... Katie Price and Peter Andre also put in a sterling effort to finish in seven hours and 11 minutes, despite the fact Katie was limping and in agony due to a pesky knee injury.

 

Katie was spurred on by the picture of son Harvey on her T-shirt - while Peter wrote Jade Goody's name on his arm for inspiration. Between them, the couple have raised more than £70,000 for the NSPCC and the Vision Charity.

Now, there's an impressive way to spend your Sunday morning (and a good part of the afternoon), don't you think?

Who should play Jade on stage?

Following yesterday's news that a stage musical about Jade Goody's life is in the pipeline, I've been racking my tiny little brains to decide who should play the lead role.

The show's choreographer Victoria Hayward has come up with a few tips on what they'll be looking for.

"Obviously there is nobody else in this world quite like Jade," she says. "But hopefully we'll have a panel of creative experts and people that were close to Jade who'll be able to pick somebody. They have to be able to dance, to sing - because Jade could sing, she had a fabulous voice - and obviously to act, and to have that kind of extra special kind of sparkle that she had."

OK, so here's my not-so-short-list of possible Jades: Jaime Winstone, Lily Allen, Sarah Harding, Kerry Katona, Duffy, Brooke Kinsella, Britney Spears or - and this one's my favourite - Shana Swash (Joe's sister who played Demi Miller in EastEnders, remember?)...

Calm down, Beyoncé!

Here's Beyoncé Knowles looking as ridiculously gorgeous as ever at last night's screening of her new movie Obsessed at the School of Visual Arts in New York.

The singer/actress/all-round megastar was asked whether she'd consider starring in a Broadway musical.

Her reply? "It's my ideal job! I'll be able to go to the theatre every day and drop my kids off and maybe make some food - maybe I'll know how to cook by then - and then go do what I love and have some normalcy and have a regular schedule. I definitely want to do Broadway!"

Hang on! What kids? I think she may have got a tiny bit carried away there - don't you? Still, if only she'd spoken out earlier about wanting to learn to cook, she could have bagged Anthea Turner's spot on this year's Hell's Kitchen...

Miley! Miley! Miley!

You'll doubtless be as overexcited as I was to hear that US teen sensation Miley Cyrus is in the UK at the moment. No?

The Disney star was in London's Leicester Square last night for the premiere of Hannah Montana: The Movie.

Set against a plague-ridden backdrop, the film tells the story of a game of chess between a medieval knight and the personification of Death. At least, I think that's what it's about. But then again, I could be getting muddled...

Anyway, there's been much nudging and winking about Miley's choice of dress for the premiere. As the Daily Mail points out with the help of some carefully chosen capital letters, the metallic mini by Hérve Léger appeared to be "VERY short".

Still, maybe the frock isn't that short after all: perhaps Miley's just VERY tall.

And anyway, lots of other premiere guests went for the leggy look, too. Among them? Our old mate Bianca Gascoigne...

 

And the UK's foremost film critics, Sam and Amanda Marchant...

 

However, too-cool-for-school Pixie Geldof chose to rock up in black leggings instead...

 

But don't you love the way she still copied Miley's peace-sign pose?

Smells like Mischa Barton...

Those awards ceremonies are coming thick and fast, folks.

Any celebrities who were gutted to have missed out on the freebies at Tuesday night's Radox Shower Smoothie Awards could make up for the disappointment by attending yesterday's FiFi UK Fragrance Awards instead. Phew!

Among the guests? Ever the trooper, Mischa Barton donned her finest full-length gown and did her best to keep her eyes open - but, as you can see from the picture above, it didn't quite work out.

Also in attendance were wonder-Wag Abbey Clancy and former Wag Elen Rives...

 

The pair posed nicely for the photographers, but - as Mischa would no doubt agree - you can't be too careful where the paparazzi are concerned.

So Abbey took the precaution of checking out the picture on the snapper's camera afterwards...

Kate Moss works the sci-fi look

Oooh - look! Hot on the heels of Agyness Deyn and co's human pyramid comes Kate Moss and her friends doing a star-studded conga. Where will it ever end?

Hairdresser-to-the-stars James Brown led the way as Kate and everyone's best mate David Walliams left London's swanky Nobu Berkeley restaurant last night.

The occasion? A launch party for a new range of diamond jewellery, designed by another of Kate's friends, Shaun Leane. (The country may be in the midst of deep recession but, hey, we'll always need diamonds.)

Still, all eyes were on Kate's Star Trek-inspired silver minidress with its humungous shoulder pads...

 

Impressive, eh?

Other celebrities who turned up to eye up the sparklers included Jo Wood, Erin O'Connor and a 'tache-tastic Rhys Ifans...

Queen of Everything Cheryl Cole has been named the Sexiest Woman in the World in FHM's Hot 100 survey. The news comes after almost 10 million votes were cast by the magazine's readers worldwide: yep, from the wilds of Borneo to the plains of Outer Mongolia, men just can't get enough of our Chezza.

The oh-so-popular pop princess knocked last year's winner, Transformers star Megan Fox, into second place...

 

...while another Hollywood hotshot, Jessica Alba, came third...

 

But look who's back, back, BACK at No.4...

 

It's official: bounceback queen Britney Spears has regained her "fully-fledged sex symbol" status just one year after being named the World's Unsexiest Woman by another men's mag, Maxim. Hurrah!

The remaining stars in the Top 10? Page 3 girl Keeley Hazell; Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima; 24 star Elisha Cuthbert; Smallville's Kristin Kreuk; Pushing Daisies actress Anna Friel; and Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto (a very worthy newcomer to the list).

Not heard much from Jesse Metcalfe, Jeremy Edwards, Jenny Frost, Duncan James and Simon Webbe recently?

Don't worry, folks: they were all out in force for last night's first-ever Radox Shower Smoothie Awards at London's Shoreditch House. How exciting!

However, the most noteworthy appearances were made by everyone's favourite piano-playing socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and former Big Brother babe Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace.

 

The reason? Well, as you can see, they both went for the red-and-white-striped bodice and red skirt look - although Tara chose to stay covered up with a jacket.

George warns of 'gaythering storm'

The debate over gay marriage has been hitting the headlines in the US (again) this week - largely thanks to an exchange between über-gossip Perez Hilton and contestant Carrie Prejean at Sunday's Miss USA beauty pageant.

To cut a long story short, Perez - who was one of the judges - asked Carrie whether she felt all US states should legalise same-sex marriage. Carrie replied that she felt marriage should be "between a man and a woman".

Perez later called her a "dumb bitch" - and has since been doing the rounds of US chat shows to fight his cause. He's also been rallying the support of celebrities: so far, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears and Heidi Montag have all answered his plea and given gay marriage the thumbs-up. Good for them!

In the mean time, another bunch of US stars have got together to make a tongue-in-cheek video, poking fun at a recent National Organisation for Marriage ad, which warned about the "gathering storm" of gay marriage.

Called The Gaythering Storm (see what they did there?), it stars one of our all-time favourite celebrities George Takei, along with One Tree Hill's Sophia Bush, Clueless star Alicia Silverstone and him-out-of-the-Aero-ads Jason Lewis. Watch it here:

There is nothing like a Dame...

By all accounts, Dame Helen Mirren and her enigmatic co-star Russell Crowe didn't hang around on the red carpet outside the London premiere of their new movie State of Play last night.

Apparently, the pair posed for a few snaps, exchanged pleasantries with their fans then ignored reporters' questions and hotfooted it into the cinema.

Mind you, I wonder what they were pointing at when the picture above was taken. Could it have been Bianca Gascoigne in this ever-so-slightly OTT frock?

 

Now, is that really suitable attire for the cinema?

Anyway, despite her apparent eagerness to get on with watching the film, Dame Helen did find time to pose with another of her co-stars, Mamma Mia!'s Dominic Cooper...

 

The pair are starring in the National Theatre's upcoming production of Phèdre, fact fans.

And even after the big stars had hurried indoors, another pair of game dames remained on the red carpet: GMTV's Penny Smith and husky-voiced presenter Mariella Frostrup...

 

Blimey! I'd never noticed before, but they do look alike, don't they?

Has Lady GaGa gone a bit Jodie?

Now, please don't take this the wrong way - but I reckon Lady GaGa could be shaping up to be the new Jodie Marsh. The reason? Whatever she's wearing, it's impossible not to do a double-take then just... stare!

Yesterday, it was all about the hats. After a brief sojourn in Germany, the singer flew back into Heathrow (hurrah!) sporting a black straw number, adorned with butterflies - to match those on her leather elbow-length gloves, black top, bag and shoes.

Later, she showed up at the Radio 1 studios wearing a little black and white hat and a rather demure (for her, that is) white frock...

 

And can I just say that anyone who accessorises with their own bone china teacup and saucer is alright by me?

Still, good old GaGa saved the best for last when she met up with old mate Mika last night...

 

A big black hat! Fishnet tights! Six-inch-high, thigh-length, lace-up boots! Not much else! We're laughing now - but this time next week, everyone will be sporting the look. Possibly.

Who showed up to the Star Trek premiere?

Ready for some random snaps from last night's Star Trek premiere in London's Leicester Square? Of course you are!

As you can see from our pic above, Sylar Zachary Quinto struck his very best "modelling for Burtons" pose - but he still looks pretty scary to me.

Zachary plays Spock in the film. Tsk - you'd think he'd have done the decent thing and worn the funny pointy ears, wouldn't you?

Meanwhile, Simon Pegg showed up in a rather fetching kilt...

 

He stars as Scotty in the movie. See what he did there?

Other random hangers-on included Jonathan Ross and two of his kids...

 

...while model Claire Merry (previously best known for being the ex-wife of footballer Thierry Henry) stole the show in a Trekkie-inspired silver catsuit with plunging neckline...

Is Kate more beautiful than Kelly?

How time flies when you're monitoring the results of pointless polls.

It's only been three short weeks since Kelly Brook was voted the UK's top natural beauty. But now she's been usurped by gushing gong-gatherer Kate Winslet, who's just been voted the Ultimate Natural Beauty in a new survey of 3,000 men and women.

Kate tops the list ahead of screen icon Audrey Hepburn...

 

...while poor Kelly has to make-do with third place...

 

In fourth position? It's X Factor judge/pop princess/wonder-Wag Cheryl Cole. Incidentally, when I expressed surprise at our Chezza's omission from the last list of natural beauties, several of you said she didn't deserve to be there because of her penchant for make-up and hair extensions.

Nevertheless, this time Ms Cole comes in ahead of two fully-fledged Hollywood megastars: fifth-placed Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson, who comes in sixth.

So is Kate really more naturally beautiful than the rest? Does Cheryl deserve to be there? Who's missing from the list? Tell us what you think.

The world's most embarrassing sunburn?

Oh dear! I shouldn't laugh but... hahahahahahaha!

Ahem! Right, sorry... where was I? As you can see from this picture she posted on Twitter, US socialite and reality TV star Kim Kardashian woke up to a nasty surprise when she dozed off in the sun last Thursday.

"PLEASE HELP ME! I am so sunburned," she wrote. "I was sunbathing when I fell asleep with my huge Prada butterfly sunglasses on and now look at me. I'm going to have to hide from cameras for days. I usually never get red, I always get dark. It hurts!"

So let this be a lesson to us all: don't go out in the sun without slathering yourself in sunscreen. And think twice before taking a nap in a pair of Prada shades...

Coachella snapshots: Agy! Dita! The Hoff!

As ever, it was celebrities-a-go-go at this year's Coachella festival in Palm Springs. Some did their darndest to melt into the background - while others seemed intent on being the centre of attention.

In the picture above, for example, we have supermodel Agyness Deyn (top), singer/songwriter Remi Nicole (far left, second row), designer Henry Holland (far right, second row) and a bunch of their less famous friends performing a pretty impressive human pyramid. As you do.

Meanwhile, A-list couple Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal kept a relatively low profile. But Jake unwittingly became the paparazzi's No.1 target when he was spotted wandering around with his flies undone...

 

Oh well, he's not the first one to leave a festival toilet in a hurry, is he?

Other fashion shocks on parade? There was a dressed-down Dita Von Teese in - pass the smelling salts! - flat shoes...

 

And David Hasselhoff was spotted showing off a female companion, down-with-the-kids ripped jeans, camouflage jacket and jaunty hat...

 

Other celebrities in attendance included Paris Hilton (obviously), Kimberly Stewart, Cat Deeley, Kirsten Dunst, Chloë Sevigny, Drew Barrymore and Adrian Grenier.

Now, if only that little lot had attempted a human pyramid, it could have been the paparazzi shot of the century...

Who's Jordan's right royal friend?

Disaster! Multi-talented megastar Jordan had to pull out of a celebrity polo event yesterday after injuring her knee.

The artist otherwise known as Katie Price had been due to take on Gladiator Siren - real name Amy Guy - in a contest at the British Open Show Jumping Championships.

However, Katie fans weren't too disappointed as their heroine still turned up to sign autographs. Let's just hope her knee gets better before next week's London Marathon, though...

In other news, it's emerged that our Katie has become close friends with fellow horse-lover Zara Phillips, the Queen's 27-year-old granddaughter.

"They are very friendly, but not many people know that," Katie's agent told the Daily Mail. "Katie never talks about her friendships with other celebrities and she won't discuss her friendship with Zara, but yes, there is a friendship. She is going to Gatcombe Park horse trials with Zara and can't wait."

Hang on! Katie never talks about her friendships with other celebrities? Doesn't her agent read OK! magazine?

David Beckham has once again turned in a sterling shirtless performance in a high-profile ad.

He also sports a Terminator-style red eye, transparent skin and a humungous amount of body oil in the new campaign for Motorola.

Who's Gwyneth's secret 'frenemy'?

Oooh! I'd never envisaged Gwyneth Paltrow's super-wholesome Goop lifestyle website as a source of gossip and intrigue - but that's what it's inadvertently become, thanks to some harsh words about a former "frenemy" in Gwyn's latest newsletter.

"Back in the day, I had a 'frenemy' who, as it turned out, was pretty hell-bent on taking me down," the actress writes.

"This person really did what they could to hurt me. I was deeply upset, I was angry, I was all of those things you feel when you find out that someone you thought you liked was venomous and dangerous. I restrained myself from fighting back. I tried to take the high road.

"But one day I heard that something unfortunate and humiliating had happened to this person. My reaction was deep relief and... happiness. There went the high road."

Naturally, US gossips have decided the person in question must be someone we know. Perez Hilton seems to think Gwyn's referring to Winona Ryder. The evidence? Wino was reportedly jealous when Gwyneth bagged her Oscar-winning role in Shakespeare in Love.

However, People magazine puts a few more high-profile names in the frame: Jennifer Aniston (Gwyn used to date Brad Pitt); Jennifer Lopez (Gwyn also used to date J.Lo's ex-fiancé Ben Affleck); and Spongebob Squarepants (Gwyn was once engaged to Spongebob's brother Malcolm.*)

Still, whoever it was, Gwyneth's well and truly over it now - honestly! Having pondered over her feelings towards her former friend, she interviews a bunch of experts about why we like hearing bad things about people.

Oh, and next week, she's going to tell us all how to make a light and delicious meal of small plates for stress-free entertaining... I can't wait!

Drew's fashion-tastic week

Blimey - I can almost smell the hairspray from here!

Here's Drew Barrymore at last night's Los Angeles premiere of her new movie, Grey Gardens. As you can see, the actress scrubbed up rather nicely in an Andrew Gn gown teamed with an embroidered necklace and big, big hair.

Drew was joined by her co-star Jessica Lange, who - I couldn't help noticing - is looking a little different around the eyes...

 

It's funny how so many Hollywood actresses seem to suffer from this condition when they hit their forties and fifties, isn't it?

Anyway, back to Drew... Last night marked yet another triumphant appearance in what's been a very fashion-tastic week.

First, she indulged her inner flapper girl at Tuesday's Grey Gardens premiere in New York...

 

And the following night, she embraced the '80s revival for an appearance on The Tonight Show with David Letterman...

Heavens to Betsy! Dot Branning - sorry, I mean June Brown - scrubs up rather nicely, doesn't she? Especially when you consider this is what she normally looks like during her working day...

 

The soap star was attending yesterday's British Academy Television Awards nominations ceremony at London's Mandarin Oriental Hotel. As ardent EastEnders fans will already know, our June's up for a Best Actress gong at the ripe old age of 82.

Other attendees of note? Well, everyone pales into insignificance compared to June. However, you may like to see former Atomic Kitten and Celebrity Masterchef winner Liz McClarnon in a white-frock-and-black-shoes combo...

 

And if that doesn't tickle your fancy, how about Blake Harrison - aka The Thick One Out Of The Inbetweeners - looking rather dapper in a black shirt and tie?

 

The awards ceremony itself takes place on Sunday 26 April at London's Royal Festival Hall - so get ready for some vaguely amusing pics of TV stars falling out of cars and trying to upstage one another in see-through frocks the following morning. Marvellous!

Hugh's a very nice man then?

There I was, thinking Hugh Jackman was an absolute berk, following last week's Twittergate scandal - but now he's well and truly making amends by putting his Twitter page to very good use.

The actor - who's just arrived in London to promote his new movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine - has pledged $100,000 of his own hard-earned dosh to charity. It's not clear whether he's talking about US or Australian dollars - but either way, it's a pretty impressive gesture.

And which charity is it for? Well, it all depends who can Tweet the strongest argument for their favourite good cause - in 140 characters or less, of course.

So if you know a non-profit organisation who could do with some extra funds, tell Hugh all about it here.

Paris hits London!

Look! Paris Hilton is in London with her latest squeeze Doug Reinhardt. What a lovely surprise! No?

Paris and Doug - or 'Pug', as I'd like us all to refer to them from now on - went for a late dinner at The Wolseley before heading to a charity do at Mahiki and finishing up at the Groucho (where else?) in the early hours.

Throughout the evening, the couple rubbed shoulders with such luminaries of the London party scene as Pixie Geldof, Amelle Berrabah and Kelly Osbourne - who looked particularly pleased to bump into her old mate Paris...

 

Just one question, though: where was Paris's British Best Friend Samuel Hextall? Seeing as he went through all the trouble of taking part in a reality show to win the title of Ms Hilton's BBF, you'd think he'd have been the first to stop whatever he was doing and hook up with his oh-so-genuine pal from LA, wouldn't you?

Unless, of course, Paris forgot to tell him she was coming over... Surely not!

Jordan and Peter announce baby plans

As you can't fail to have noticed over the past 24 hours, Jordan and Peter Andre are back in the UK after their three-month sojourn in Los Angeles.

Yesterday was spent dishing out juicy soundbites at a swanky press junket in London's Soho Hotel, in a bid to publicise their new reality series, Katie and Peter: More of the Same (or something like that anyway), which starts tomorrow on ITV2.

Among the revelations? Jordan - sorry, Katie - hasn't had any more surgery, despite rumours to the contrary. The Daily Mail isn't buying any of it, though: their showbiz reporters are convinced Jordan's cheeks looked "decidedly plumped-up" at the junket. Still, maybe she was just pulling a face at them.

But enough with the surgery rumours! The most exciting news came when the couple revealed their plans to try for another baby as soon as they've completed the London Marathon. Hmmm... let's hope they move away from the finish line first.

"I can 100% guarantee that I will be pregnant sometime later in the year," Katie told GMTV - at which point Pete looked slightly shocked and asked her how she could be so certain.

The answer? "Because I know my body, Pete - and I know how strong you are."

And on that delightful thought, I'll leave you...

Angelina's back on top

Phew! We haven't had any results from a 'Most Beautiful Woman in the World' poll for - oooh! - days now, have we? But don't despair: a new one's just been unveiled by Vanity Fair.

Top of the beauties? It's Angelina Jolie - who took an impressive 58% of the votes in the mag's online survey. Ange will doubtless be over the moon - particularly since she was so cruelly snubbed in Details magazine's recent 'Sexiest Woman in Hollywood' poll.

In fact, Ms Jolie came far ahead of the competition: second-placed Gisele Bündchen only took 9% of votes...

 

...while Halle Berry took 4% to come third...

 

Meanwhile, a gaggle of gorgeous stars shared fourth place: Penélope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Connelly, Queen Rania of Jordan and Bar Refaeli.

And the slightly overcrowded fifth spot went to Freida Pinto, Catherine Deneuve, supermodel Natalia Vodianova, Chinese megastar Ziyi Zhang, Beyoncé Knowles and Cate Blanchett.

(By the way, if you need to Google a couple of those names to find out what they look like, you're not alone!)

But where were those other seasoned poll-toppers Jennifer Aniston, Megan Fox and... er... Cheryl Cole? Does Angelina deserve her sweeping victory? And what is the point of these ridiculous polls anyway (other than to give me something to write about, that is)?

Watch Lindsay's spoof dating ad

So Lindsay Lohan is gradually getting used to life without ex-partner Samantha Ronson following their break-up 10 days ago.

But is she down about it? Is she hell! Instead, our Li-Lo has made a spoof dating ad, in which she pokes fun at herself and her gossip-tastic reputation.

A sample quote? "We'll crash a few parties, a car or two, but at the end of the day, I promise you I never lose my Google hits. Just my underwear."

Oh, and just in case you were wondering, Lindsay isn't reading from a script: according to director Eric Appel, the under-fire star improvised during filming. "She threw in a bunch of fun, funny stuff," he revealed to Us magazine.

Jamie: 'Make a sex tape, Miley'

Uh-oh! Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has launched a no-holds-barred rant against Disney star Miley Cyrus, which is bound to get Middle America in a right old flap.

The incident happened when someone called in to Jamie's weekly US radio show and mentioned how Miley had tried - and failed - to meet Radiohead at the Grammys.

At first Jamie wasn't quite sure who Miley was, but then he remembered: "Ah, she's the girl with all the gums. She's got to get a gum transplant. Let me get an order of mouth, light on teeth, heavy on the gums."

Jamie and his guests then laid into Ms Cyrus big-time - although I should stress they were only joking. Their tongue-in-cheek advice for Miley? "Make a sex tape and grow up." "Do some heroin." "Get some crack in your pipe." "Catch chlamydia from a bicycle seat."

Er... is it just me or were they being just a teeny bit OTT there? Can you imagine the fuss if the show had aired in the UK? Oh well, at least they drew the line at calling Miley's granddad...

Zac on marriage and make-up

Here's a rather pensive-looking Zac Efron en route to his appearance on last night's The Late Show with David Letterman.

The teen idol has been busy doing the publicity rounds for his new movie 17 Again in the US - and he's also been taking the opportunity to clear up a few pesky rumours.

An example? Zac doesn't wear false eyelashes. "If somebody can find any photo that shows me wearing them, I will give them a f***ing million dollars," he rants to GQ magazine. "People just constantly think I'm wearing make-up. It's a recurring theme. But f*** man. I have never worn false eyelashes in my entire life. [Blinks a couple of times.] That's all me!" Got that?

Oh, and how about those recent rumours that he was set to wed girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens?

"That was such bulls***," says the potty-mouthed High School Musical star. "I'm definitely not getting married. In this business, you're either getting married or they want you to be pregnant. I'm not getting married until I'm 40. If ever. The thought never crossed my mind."

Yeah, but are you pregnant, Zac? We demand to be told!

Chantelle hates her boobs!

Oh dear! Chantelle Houghton has admitted she bitterly regrets boosting her boobs from a B to an E cup.

The Celebrity Big Brother star went under the knife shortly after splitting from husband Preston in 2007. At the time, she told the Daily Star: "I'm so happy with them. I absolutely love them and can't stop touching them."

But now it seems the novelty of playing with her not-so-lovely jubblies has worn off. "They're just too big," Chantelle tells Heat magazine. "Now I just want to hide them. I thought I wanted to go up to that size, and I loved them at the time, but now I wish I'd never had them done."

The erstwhile glamour girl also needs physiotherapy twice a week to combat the back pain caused by her breasts.

So let this be a lesson to us all: bigger isn't necessarily better.

Heavens to Betsy! Wonder-Wag Danielle Lloyd may well be the most devoted celebrity Spurs fan since Chas and Dave.

Hot on the heels of her failed relationships with former Tottenham striker Teddy Sheringham and current star player Jermain Defoe, Dani's moved on to midfielder Jamie O'Hara.

The pair were spotted flitting between Nobu, the Mayfair Hotel and the Palm Beach Casino in London on Saturday, looking particularly pleased with themselves.

They even indulged in a little light snogging - although I can't help thinking this photograph looks a tad posed...

 

Anything else? Well, you may be interested to note that Dani's just had a new tattoo inked on her left shoulder. It's a Latin phrase, which apparently translates as: "To diminish me will only make me stronger".

 

Yeah, whatever.

Rumours are rife that Pamela Anderson is set to tie the knot for the fourth time.

Can't remember who she's dating nowadays? It's scuba diver Jamie Padgett, who's been on the scene since shortly after her four-month marriage to Rick Salamon crashed and burned last year.

And where have these new rumours come from? Apparently, one of Pammy's designer friends has revealed he's working on the former Baywatch star's wedding dress.

So could it be... er... fourth time lucky for Pammy - or should she give up on marriage completely? Tell us what you think.

Is Sienna less sexy than the Queen?

Got a little bit of time on your hands this Easter Monday? Then you might like to ponder the very important question of who's sexiest: Sienna Miller or Queen Elizabeth II?

Apparently, Sienna has slipped off FHM's 100 Sexiest Women list - and is now sitting not-so-pretty at number 202 in the rankings.

"Two years ago Sienna was at number 45 before falling to 70 in 2008," says a top statistician from the lads' mag. "But this year she got only a handful of the 10 million votes cast. That leaves her ahead of Home Secretary Jacqui Smith but trailing the Queen and Michelle Obama."

But why has Ms Miller fallen so far out of favour? "Maybe it's the credit crunch or that Sienna is a bit annoying," ponders editor Chris Bell. "But men seem to be rejecting privileged It-girl types like her."

Hang on, though! Isn't the Queen the ultimate "privileged It-girl type"?

The full list from FHM is set to be unveiled next week. So who do you think will top it? For what it's worth, my money's on Cheryl Cole...

What's Russell been up to now?

Not for the first time, there was much excitement round at Russell Brand's gaff yesterday morning.

What happened? Well, two "mystery blondes", who'd stopped over the night before, were forced to rush out into the street and remonstrate with a traffic warden when he slapped a parking fine on their car.

 

Unfortunately, the pair hadn't had time to get dressed yet - but their thoughtful host provided them with matching hooded bathrobes so they wouldn't get caught out in the altogether by the paparazzi.

 

In case you were wondering, the unimpressed warden refused to let them off the fine. However, some would say £40 is a small price to pay for a night round at Russell's.

Plus they can always earn the money back by selling their stories to a Sunday tabloid. "Bathrobe babes reveal all!" You know it's going to happen, don't you?

Welcome to the latest in our occasional series: "Credit crunch? What credit crunch?"

Those nosey people at Parade magazine have just published their annual report into celebrities' earnings - and it seems Jennifer Aniston pocketed an eye-popping $27m (around £18.5m) last year.

Angelina Jolie, meanwhile, "only" made $14m (around £9.6m): mind you, she did take a few months off to give birth to twins, so she still had a fairly productive year.

Other big, big earners? Jay-Z banked $82m (roughly £56m), while wife Beyoncé Knowles cashed $80m (about £55m). Hmmm... that makes Jen and Ange's earnings look like small change, doesn't it?

Bill Clinton hearts Claire Sweeney!

Blimey - here's a couple of blasts from the past.

Remember Bill Clinton? You know the chap: he's married to Hillary, likes the odd cigar, used to be US president...

Anyway, while he was still leader of the free world, Bill apparently tried to chat up Brookside-babe-turned-TV-presenter Claire Sweeney. And where did this unlikely liaison take place? At a fancy dress party hosted by Cliff Richard. Oh, but of course.

"Clinton came over to me dressed as an Admiral," Claire recalls. "He started chatting me up. His bodyguard came over and told him, 'Mr President, it's time to go'.

"I said, 'Bill, you want to stay don't you? Your left leg is dancing'. He said, 'My middle leg is about to start dancing'. I shook his hand and said, 'I'm keeping my dress clean. Goodnight, Mr President'."

Hmmm... I wonder if this exchange did actually happen - or perhaps Claire just dreamt it. Or maybe I'm dreaming it now. Who knows?

We interrupt today's outpouring of celebrity twaddle to bring you news that Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding has got a new dog.

 

So far, there's no news on his name - but he looks like a Colin to me. Or possibly a Dave.

Can anyone think of a better name?

Hugh's a naughty boy then!

Puh! Hugh Jackman's been well and truly rumbled.

Like most other bandwagon-jumping self-respecting celebrities, Hugh now has his own Twitter feed, which he updates with impressive regularity.

Or so we thought - until the proud Australian posted earlier this week from Sydney to say: "Having lunch on the harbor across from the Opera Center. Loving life!"

Now, we could overlook the US spelling of harbour - but the Opera Center?

Suitably outraged reporters at the Sydney Morning Herald immediately contacted Hugh's publicist, who initially insisted Hugh had posted his own update.

However, the actor has since admitted one of his US staff was responsible for the gaffe. "I communicated it over the phone and when that got translated by someone American in my office it came out all wrong," the sheepish star confessed. "I do know the Opera House is called the Opera House."

Hang on! So he makes an international phone call to dictate his 12-word Twitter updates? Surely it would be quicker to write it himself. Berk.

So be on the lookout for similar slip-ups, folks. If ardent Twitterer Stephen Fry insists he's "hanging out on London's South Side looking at the London Ear" or Russell Brand says he's "watching soccer at Uptown Park", we'll be on to them...

Zac's hilarious pool party video

Just in! Man-of-the-moment Zac Efron heads the cast in a new spoof video from Funny or Die - the people who brought you Paris Hilton's presidential campaign.

The action centres around a pool party, where Zac is joined by an all-star cast including girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, 90210's Jessica Stroup, legendary glamour-puss Carmen Electra, rap superstar Queen Latifah, and reformed party girl Nicole Richie plus her rock star partner Joel Madden.

Now, as lovely as all the above undoubtedly are, none of them are really known for their comedy genius, are they? And - whisper it - I think it might just show in this video:

Is Lindsay heading for meltdown?

Oh dear! It sounds like Lindsay Lohan isn't coping very well in the aftermath of her break-up with Samantha Ronson - and some of Hollywood's less charitable celebrity-watchers are gearing up for yet another high-profile meltdown.

Sam broke things off with Lindsay last Friday night - then hired five security guards to keep her former lover out of a party for her sister Charlotte at LA's swanky Chateau Marmont.

Poor Li-Lo has since given an emotional interview to Us magazine - in a series of telephone calls and emails, during which she was reportedly agitated, tearful and baffled.

"I'm not a bad person and this is what happens," she moaned. "I was raised to treat people well, and I'm so tired of this drama."

The erstwhile actress also says she's received little support from other celebrities. According to Lindsay, Nicole Richie walked past her at the hotel and said, "Uck!" while former Sopranos star Drea De Matteo said, "Come at me, bitch." (No, I'm not really sure what that's supposed to mean either.)

"I felt like I was in Mean Girls, but worse," Lindsay revealed.

Hmmm... I know the whole thing's very soppy and childish, but I do feel a bit sorry for Lindsay. Let's hope she can disappoint the gossips by bouncing back from her break-up very soon.

Stars go wild for animal print

Yesterday, celebrities were mainly wearing animal print.

Want proof? Well, as you can see from the picture above, Kerry Katona sported a rather fetching leopard-print hoodie and hotpants combo when she went to collect baby Max from nursery. It's the outfit of choice for all self-respecting Cheshire mums nowadays, apparently.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Ellison opted for an animal-print chiffon top while pretending to steer a ship in Dublin (as you do)...

 

The occasion? Jen was publicising the launch of Jeff Wayne's musical version of The War of the Worlds. Obviously.

And finally, Debbie Allen wore this faux fur jacket when she showed up to judge a children's talent contest in New York...

 

Can't quite place Debbie? Well, you're obviously not as old as me then. She is, of course, the choreographer and actress who played dance teacher Lydia in seminal '80s series Fame.

Altogether now: "You got big dreams? You want fame? Well, fame costs. And right here is where you start paying... in sweat." Ah, happy days!
