Should Jonathan Ross be sacked?

He just can't seem to help himself, can he?
Only eight minutes and 35 seconds into his post-suspension Radio 2 comeback show, Jonathan Ross gave the tabloids exactly what they wanted - by making a "sick joke about an Alzheimer's sufferer" (Daily Mail) and throwing himself into another "Beeb sex row" (The Sun).
Now - surprise, surprise - the whole thing isn't quite as dramatic as the newspapers make it sound.
During a chat about what they'd been doing while the show was off-air, producer Andy Davies said he'd done some bricklaying in the garden of his Spanish villa - but he kept getting grabbed by a frisky 80-year-old woman.
Jonathan's reply? "Eighty, oh God! I think you should, just for charity. Give her one last night, will you? One last night before the grave. Would it kill you?"
Andy and Jonathan later claimed the old lady didn't really exist. However, hardened hacks have apparently tracked her down - then stuck her name and picture in the tabloids, together with an interview with her furious son. Hmmm... those reporters must be really proud of themselves, mustn't they?
Naturally, various pundits, papers and politicians are now calling for Jonathan to resign.
Still, ratings for his shows are doubtless sky-high at the moment - simply because so many people are desperate to over-analyse his every word.
But like everything else that's broadcast on the Beeb, if you don't like it, you don't have to tune in. So if people really want him to go away, it's simple: just ignore him.
So should Wossy stay or go? Tell us what you think.

Ross is discusting and should not be allowed to produce.Yes i know we dont have to watch him, but where should we have to pay him, this is our money being misused.
Posted by: M Cottingham | 25 March 2009 at 15:03
What show are you watching? Great interviewer? He never gives his guests any time to answer his questions unless they are lewd. I have chosen not to watch or listen to anything the man is involved with. I dont think the world would be so bad without the likes of him, or Little Britain and Catherine Tate, or Big Brother. No wonder some of the younger generation are like they are when they put these kinds of 'Entertainers' on pedestals.

Sack him. Where's the talent. He isn't funny, doesn't dance, doesn't sing, tries to get a laugh from making others look small.Don't know anyone with a good word for him. We pay a licence fee to see talent !!
Posted by: Doug | 02 February 2009 at 15:40
The guy is still with us as his intertainment value speaks for itself...Give him and us a break....
Posted by: John | 01 February 2009 at 09:55
We did not 'tune in' last Saturday, nor today, to Radio 2, and we will not be 'tuning in' to Radio 2 on a Saturday until Ross goes!
One day, his children are going to be adults, and I just hope he does not have to endure that that he, personally, subjected Andrew Sachs to. If Ross hadn't constantly extoled the virtues of being a family man - proud of his children - then we would have put his behaviour down to sheer stupidity; end of. Unfortunately, he has proved himself capable of duplicity, and that demonstrates that he lacks sincerity; something we definitely cannot subscribe to.

WHY ARE THE BRITISH SO MADLY CRITICAL. JONATHAN IS PAID A HIGH SALARY FOR A JOB HE DOES SUPERBLY WELL, DRAWING OUT THE CELEBS AND ENCOURAGING THEM TO FREELY TALK, SHARE THEIR FEELINGS AND HE ALSO INCLUDES THE AUDIENCE WITH NATURAL FRIENDLINESS. STOP THE MISERABLE SMALL-MINDEDNESS AND LET HIM CARRY ON, AFTER ALL HOW MANY OTHERS COULD HOST A SHOW WITH SUCH FLAIR AND FUN?
Posted by: Margot | 31 January 2009 at 17:55
Personally I find him totally offensive. He is an arrogant, fouled mouthed moron. And I just turn him off whatever program he turns up on.
I do the same with a lot of the other talentless people they have around these days. I refuse to watch rubbish, or listen to it.
Sack hime and anyone like him and use the money he gets overpaid to get somebody decent.
Posted by: Julian Davies | 31 January 2009 at 17:50
just give the fella a break now;leave him alone. what he done or rather what he said is past , the bbc decided his punishment was suspension , which he served .the press are just poised now to pounce on the slightest utterance the man say`s which can be interpreted as wrong or against pc. personally this is coming from a non jonathan ross fan and i don`t agree with his salary , but if all of us could get that money for doing what he does wouldn`t we? the media seem to like to have someone to hound and persecute all the time , i suppose he`s got to wait until some other poor celeb put`s a foot out of place for them to move on. the bbc decided his salary and his fate so leave him alone.
Posted by: claire | 31 January 2009 at 17:45
I just don't watch or listen to him any longer. I used to find him funny - but his act (i.e. his jokes, opinions, music, chat lines) has stayed the same, whereas I have moved on.
So - apart from this comment - I really couldn't care less! It's not a story.
Posted by: Simon | 31 January 2009 at 17:44
Jonathan Ross made his name by making talking humerously about the 'bad' things in life and taking the micky out of people. That is who he is and that's why I think he's great. Have a laugh - no comments are meant to hurt anybody. Laughter is great medicine! People complaining should get a life and start enjoying themselves!
Posted by: Sarah V | 31 January 2009 at 17:42
Old grumpy people without any personalities who have no idea about what 'sense of humour' means - this is the type of person that keeps kicking up about the whole 'Ross issue'. My only advice to offer these helpless souls is to go away & focus on the important things in life!
Posted by: Rory | 31 January 2009 at 17:31
Get a haircut Jonathan then there would be something else for bored hacks to comment on
Posted by: Helen | 31 January 2009 at 17:30
The man is an uncouth oaf and should not have been employed in the first place.
Posted by: R G Prior | 31 January 2009 at 17:23
If the BEEB sack him, it will be their loss, ITV will no doubt snap him up, or channel 4 might be a good place, theyr dont seem to mind what filth they screen!
Posted by: Debs | 31 January 2009 at 17:23
If TV is to be entertaining, there has to be variety. Otherwise it would all just be the same. Usually, when one doesn't like what's on, one doesn't watch it.
I find 90% of what JR does, very entertaining and the rest is sometimes a bit silly-but I've never felt that he was a rude or offensive man.
Let him do what he does and change chanels if you don;t like it!!!! There's plenty of policially correct drudge on.
Posted by: m harrup | 31 January 2009 at 17:07
......there is an off button you know.
Posted by: Gill | 31 January 2009 at 17:06
If you don't like him then don't tune in.
We are not a nanny state and surely the beeb is big enough to let us choose. If his ratings drop to an unaceptable level then take him off.
Posted by: julia | 31 January 2009 at 16:58
The Sachs thing was disgusting and the BBC was right to suspend him. The little old lady of 80 story is funny. The media really are on his case examining his every word. I see a lot on TV that would have been totally unacceptable when I was young but we have moved on since then. If you dont like a person or a particular show, simply dont watch. Who do some people think they are, Mary Whitehouse. I object to seeing scenes of people vomitting, I see no need for that. Hearing them off camera is more than enough, we dont need more. You just need to choose programs more carefully and not be complaining all the time.
Posted by: Alan | 31 January 2009 at 16:52
I think all the people who have complained should get a life. There are much worse things to worry about eg people dying and being killed around the world
Posted by: Jane | 31 January 2009 at 16:39
Sack him. He's a coward. He made "fun" of a man in his 70s?80s? and his grandaughter. Any chance of him doing the same to a daughter of Ray Winston or Vinnie Jones. He is protctive of his own children, when it suits. Typical bully - can hand it out but can't take it.
Posted by: TP | 31 January 2009 at 16:20
I really feel that this person is a complete and utter waste of space. All he is concerned with is himself, his ego and nothing else. The man has three children who are all of impressionable ages and he still acts as if he is 18 years of age. It is about time that the man started acting his real age not his shoe size. I no longer watch his show as I find it offensive the way he tries to belittle his guests and the sexual inuendos. My wife has never liked the show because of this and also refuses to listen to his radio show on a saturday. Give him up BBC, sack him, he is simply not worth it.

What is wrong with everyone get a grip, has he really done anything that bad? With everything that is happening in the world why has this got so much attention. If you don't like what he does don't watch or listen to him Simple as that really. He has never claimed to be a saint, or someone we should look to for moral guidance. There are bigger issues to protest against, and complain about than Jonathan Ross! Let the man earn his living when his time is over it will be over.
Posted by: Chelsea Summers | 31 January 2009 at 16:13
It ha nothing to do with Sachs being well known or not - he is an innocent man and thats all that counts. IMO ross should be sacked, fined and deported asap. IMO the entire BBC hierarchy should be replaced yesterday.
Posted by: jos | 31 January 2009 at 16:13
An over paid talentless middle aged trendy. The sooner the BBC gets rid the better. They keep on moaning about the need to raise the licence fee, for what? To pay the likes of Ross.
He should have been sacked, or had the balls to resign.
Posted by: TC | 31 January 2009 at 16:12
Why does everyone keep going on about JR...he is a funny guy and everyone just needs to lighten up and stop taking everything he says so seriously for gods sake! If people don't like it switch channels...it's not hard!
Posted by: Nell | 31 January 2009 at 16:06
Get rid - the sooner the better. Can't say I'd miss him. Never liked anything he's ever done anyway. I just find him offensive & not at all funny.
Posted by: JB | 31 January 2009 at 15:49
The man is CRUDE. For this reason aone I do not watch or listen to him. I would not give the BBC the pleasure of includihjg me in their ratings. He should go!!
Posted by: Carol Heyman | 31 January 2009 at 15:47
If you had asked "Who is Andrew Sachs" six months ago, 95% of the population wouldn't have known.
Sachs only real claim to fame is playing an idiotic Spanish waiter in Fawlty Towers implying the Spanish were all pratts, all for entertainment.
Taking that into concideration, were JR's actions any worse than Andrew Sach's all those years ago - Don't think so!!
Posted by: Jeff | 31 January 2009 at 15:40
I honesty think that he should not go. Everybody does things that other people would think was wrong. If people stopped taking the "moral high ground" and looked at themselves they would realise that Ross is the same as everyone else. Why don't just leave him alone now?
Posted by: Paul Roche | 31 January 2009 at 15:29
take this guy OUT now and bring IN 6 young clean men that are out of work, pref, with a young familypay each of them 1 million per yearon a 5 year contract , in that time they would have made a small fortune and happy then do it again with another 6 with the same terms, in the contract ,NO SWEARING OR DIRTY JOKES OR YOU ARE OUT easy pezzy
Posted by: ron | 31 January 2009 at 15:19
Ross is a stupid egotistical arrogant moron. I never watch, or listen to any of his drivel. Any programme that includes him is immediately switched off.
Posted by: Richard | 31 January 2009 at 15:15
I stopped watching JR a long time ago due to his continual obsession with his own sex life, sexual remarks, and the constant me, me, me.... I thought that he had some interesting guests on TV and it would have been nice to hear a bit from them, but JR can't help himself. The continual vulgar and demeaning base humour was over the top and it seemed obvious to me that his guests were often embarrassed and shocked by his behaviour. I turned off the programme. JR should be sacked and the BBC should be ashamed of paying his huge salary with licence fee money when the know so many people are disgusted with his behaviour. I find the same for RB, who has always seemed a little more sinister than wierd to me.
Posted by: mary | 31 January 2009 at 15:03
Sack him he is becoming liability for the beeb.
Posted by: Alan | 31 January 2009 at 14:58
Ross is a talentless prat but there are thousands like him in the entertainment business. Why should he worry with the money the BBC couldn't wait to pay him. At home I have a wonderous item called an off/on button and coupled with the other miracle device which changes programmes at a click I never get my knickers in a twist about celebs. The world is full of celebs with no talent, no style desperate for publicity. THe public actually dictates what their status is.
Posted by: Brian Wylie | 31 January 2009 at 14:48
for gods sake give the bloke a rest will you.if you actually analysed what most of us actually say to one another during the day we all probably offend one group or another.however,as Ross is now Public enemy no.1 in the eyes of the press he cannot win.personally his last 2 shows on tv have been very good-showing that there really IS no need to resort to foul language to be interesting and entertaining.the interview with Bill Shatner was fabulously surreal.but utimately Ross is doomed, strung by his own earlier self reverential comments to his guests like "when you earn as much as i do ....!" and "isn,t it hard when you earn £xxx as you and i do " - now is not the time for that type of vulgar display of bravardo.
out of touch - maybe, but still i think the M.E.D.I.A.will hang him. think on - ever since Princess Di left us the press has been searching for a replacement "celebrity CULT "TYPE FIGURE".winehouse, ross, allen, etc etc,and when they don,t play the media game, the tiger turns !
so please lets all lighten up a little- life is going to get a lot harder over the next few years for all of us.
Posted by: Richard Pievaitis | 31 January 2009 at 14:35
Who is this Ross person?
Posted by: Wendy | 31 January 2009 at 14:15
Have these complaining people got nothing better to do than complain all the time. Sad beings. Get a life. And as for the Journalists I think we all of us know that the majority are a waste of space. I don't like Brand therefore I do not watch or listen to him. I can give or take Jonathan Ross. If I do not like something I switch off. You complainers can alldo the same.
Posted by: Pensioner | 31 January 2009 at 14:13
get off his case, he is great presenter and family man, sun claims he is dad to 4, so I say sue them JR, they are claiming you have secret child somewhere, I read your books and you only mention Betty, Harvey and Honey,Keep up the good job you do as I watch little tv but try and never miss friday night or sat morning radio.
Posted by: jane | 30 January 2009 at 20:23
Our country is absolutely pathetic. Celeb obsessed!!! Lay off them for the love of God and find something worthy to complain about like the situations in developing countries which WE instigated!
Posted by: Joe | 30 January 2009 at 17:00
give him a break for crying out loud
Posted by: . | 27 January 2009 at 21:26
Just not funny. Whether said in jest or not - I think he's lost his touch. Shame, I remember his early shows and he was very funny. I guess he feels he has to keep up with the younger comedians and be just a little more outrageous. For me it backfires so I don't watch him any more.
If everyone who is outraged did the same then his ratings would fall and eventually he would be moved to a 'quieter backwater' of the radio or TV.
Posted by: Jo | 27 January 2009 at 20:18
I just have to make a point here. Its making me mad how people always have to say something about Ross cos he's "out of order and upset someone"
Look around, all comedians are the same, where do you think they get their jokes from. If he gets the sack then Little Britain should be scrapped along with Catherine Tate show!
Little britain are racist when it comes to the food, Catherine Tate is always taking the mick out of Ginger people! Why does noone think to mention this????
Ross is good at what he does, just like all the others! The world is just mad, we cant say anything without undergoing investigation!
If this is the world today then shoot me now!!!! Its pathetic!!!
Posted by: Nikki | 27 January 2009 at 16:29
I think that Jonathan Ross should be sacked. What gives him the right to make slanderous comments about anyone, "in the interests of entertainment" Celebrities should remember that they are role models for the younger generation. It is obvious that there are few who don't care one jot about what they say. You only have to walk down any high street and hear conversations, read the papers (ok I know they aren't always accurate) or see the news.
I had hoped that Rossie would've learn't his lesson with getting a 3 month suspension but hey ho he thinks he is indispensable.
Do the right thing BEEB.....
SACK HIM!!!
Posted by: Donna | 27 January 2009 at 14:18
It seems that the public still need to visit public hangings to feel better about themselves. The only people who don't make mistakes are the people who don't do anything. What a bore that would be listening to the moaners who haven't got the guts to stand out from the braying pack.
Posted by: Grant | 27 January 2009 at 11:47

Posted by: trish | 27 January 2009 at 10:18
Everyone knows what he's like -how his sense of humour works!-watch it if you like it-turn it off if you dont= its easy! There's lots I dont like on TV- I just choose not to watch again if I dont like it- I certainly wouldn't expect tv scheduling to be guided by my tastes so why should we be guided by other peoples.
Posted by: PW | 26 January 2009 at 22:54
He is finished. If he has to resort to that kind of 'humour' then it's time to quit. I never thought he would be able to survive the Sachs scandal anyway. He's an embarrassment now and I won't be watching or listening to him anymore.

I did enjoy watching the Jonathan Ross show on BBC the other night- most of it was fine. He can be very engaging and entertaining. There was one moment when Tom Cruise was speechless and didn't really know what to say (even though he subject- farting in bed- was trivial). He does need to watch his step and not cross over the mark. JR needs to avoid repeatedly upsetting many viewers who (in good faith) watch and hope for better things, and perhaps remember when he was less crude and infamous. He is frankly overpaid and viewers do have a right to say how money is spent. So, Jonathan, do take care.
Posted by: Mark | 26 January 2009 at 19:20
Why don't people just stop taking every tiny detail out of proportion yeah ok him and russel brand said some stupid stuff and that just shows how pathetic they are that they can't think of anything better to joke about but the media keeps blowing things out of proportion, if you don't like what someones said then ignore it if we're going to start dissecting what everyone says then there'll be no comedians left no presenters no little britain or catherine tate it'll be pretty boring telly there's always something someone will find offensive and not like, but they need to get over and just let jonathan start again!!!!!!
Posted by: Annabelle | 26 January 2009 at 19:10
Why do people keep suggesting that if you listen to ross or brand then your thick. I notice how they dont mention what comedians they like that are so inteligent?
Posted by: will | 26 January 2009 at 18:55
The man is a great interviewer whatever anyone may say about is down to earth manner. If you think him not to your taste, then why didn’t you watch something else? Heard of freeview Television, it does suppose to provide diversity for all tastes.
Posted by: Roy Warren | 26 January 2009 at 18:47
Jonathan Ross is a self centred individual who thinks that he is Jack the Lad whereas the more educated observer thinks he is Simple Simon.
I say SACK SIMPLE SIMON SOON!

"And this a celebrity? In any other industry he would have been sacked a long time ago. But in this sad world we give him a multi million contract!"
What a load of toss. Go on and building site or factory and you hear far worse jokes than anything hes said.

Go, go, go! Of course he can't identify with the DECENT thing. The word is not in his vocabulary or indeed in his sick sex obsessed mentality.
Posted by: Gordino | 26 January 2009 at 17:49
Not every single show presented by the BBC can suit everyone, that's because they have to try and cater for everyone...
If it all suited your particular preferences I doubt television would be watched quite so much.
He can't exactly make everyone happy, that would be impossible...
Stop making such a big deal the bloke does what he does, there are many people who make lewd and crude comments everyday whatever show, sex jokes and the like are some of the most popular now because wev'e dragged ourselves out of the middle ages!!
Jeez guys, he obviously isn't over rated either because if you look at the amount of people who watch his shows you can't say it's a small amount can you?
And REDJON you said he's over-sexed!?!? He's married with children what he gets up to in his own life is his own porrogative, he is a human being and I suppose he does, yes, have sex... not that much of a big deal.
This is a complete exxaguration of a situation by the news papers, just like last time. If this affects his career i wouldn't be surprised if he sues those papers responsible.. but what a surprise it's the sun and the Mail...
Move on guys...
Posted by: Me | 26 January 2009 at 17:45
He should not be on radio 2 for a start, the station is a load of rubbish.I dont honestly know why his talent is wasted on a station like that, leave radio 2 to the wogans, and join a station like absolute,or x fm and say what you like, when you like, play good up to date music, and feel relaxed in what you say and have fun.
Posted by: peter hyde | 26 January 2009 at 17:42
I just cant understand it. It drives me mad, why is everyone so obsessed. I thought the original ross and brand show was funny. I just dont get why people are so annoyed, I find haveing to put up with countless reality tv shows more insulting than anything johnathan ross has said so when do i get my say. If he got paid £5 an hour do you really think the bbc are going to drop the price of the tv lisence
Posted by: Will | 26 January 2009 at 17:40
Has no-one else got anything else better to do than winklepick what celebs say...under any other circumstances this probably would have been laughed at and forgotton in one nano second. People do and say far worse in everyday life, in the press, text or on the internet but because he's in the spot light everyone has to pick on him. I'm not saying I'm his biggest fan but this applies to everyone these days - if you say the slightest thing out of place they get jumped on by do-gooders and the press. Live and let live and have a laugh instead of all being so critical...I personally have got far better things to do with my time than worry about what other people are doing or saying. Jonathan Ross is paid, like every other celebrity, because that is what his bosses say he's worth. I say good for him raking it in while he can and every other filmstar, sports personality, writer etc etc. Its a mad world and I will never understand where the pay scales come from but good for them all...they'll all probably need it to buy a house/palace in Dubai to escape all you lot moaning. He's a comedian - if you dont like him dont watch unless of course you are all waiting for him to say something that can be twisted. I dont like a lot of people on TV so I dont watch them. The other episode he was suspended for only had a handful of complaints until the press got hold of it...long live humour...of everykind!!!
Posted by: Jennifer Newman | 26 January 2009 at 17:39
He didn't actually say anything about sex, we just assumed it! Which says more about us than it does about Jonathan Ross.
Even if he was talking about sex, what is wrong with an 80 year old wanting sex? Is there an upper age limit now? NO, there is nothing wrong or illegal about it - it's perfectly natural.
If he's not your cut of tea, don't tune in and you won't be offended. He's only on TV/radio for a few hours a week and everyone knows when that is so it's not hard to avoid him. If there is something or someone that I don't like, I don't watch or listen to it/them. You must remember that there are people that do enjoy watching/listening to him so it's only right that the BBC continues to cater for these people as well as the JR haters, as they are also licence payers.
People need to lighten up and give the guy a break! There are much more important things going on that should be front page news!
Posted by: Emma | 26 January 2009 at 17:39
Jonathan Ross is one of the most naturally funny presenters around. He apologised for sachsgate and is now just doing what he has always done, which is push the boundaries a little a hold a mirror up to our society. For goodness sake, can we not laugh at anything any more? My experience of Ross is that he's a caring, humane man who would probably be the first to help an old lady across the road. Yes, he's sometimes rude, yes he sometimes makes you cringe, but at least he makes us think and doesn't serve up the usual saccharine and sycophancy we get from most presenters and chat show hosts. If you don't like him, simple - don't listen or watch.
Posted by: gobsmacked | 26 January 2009 at 17:38
Why pick on elderly people Mr Ross? are you such a coward that you can only pick on the old and sick? try it on with someone your own age and see what happens.
Posted by: Gary | 26 January 2009 at 17:33
only man who is funny on tv and radio , spend some time in afghanistan and see what we should be complaining about!

SACK HIM!!!!
Posted by: MICHAEL | 26 January 2009 at 17:31

Posted by: hayden williams | 26 January 2009 at 17:30
Ross is a very sad man if he has to rely on being crude and offensive to be funny.
Posted by: Ray Harris | 26 January 2009 at 17:30
YES HE SHOULD GO. Anyone who cannot learn by their supposed mistake, especially in public life should be sacked. Why doesn’t the BBC get real and start producing some worth wile entertainment for the licence fee instead of paying grossly inflated salaries to these people who just take advantage because of their name.
For those people who disagree, why don’t the people who cannot present in an acceptable way start a television station of their own, with their past salaries they could afford it, and stop living off the majority of people who do not want this type of TV. We would then see who is correct by the viewing figures and how long they last.
Posted by: Peter | 26 January 2009 at 17:28
Everyone is blowing this out of proportion, he is a funny guy who. Fair enough he is overpaid but he has been making jokes like that before his suspension and now because people are over analysing his every word people think he should lose his job. If you dont like it dont listen to it. Its not rocket science.
Posted by: Mark | 26 January 2009 at 17:27
Why can't everyone just leave him alone he's great and there is nothing meant by him. I've heard a lot worse and on the telly. The media need taking to task. Brown out Wossy in!!!!
Posted by: Patricia | 26 January 2009 at 17:26
BBC should let him go. He was perhaps a talent once. But now he is scraping the bucket in desperation to be entertaining. He is a very poor ambassador for the UK.
Posted by: misty | 26 January 2009 at 17:26
I think he is great but this is my personal opinion, i would raather watch him than Little Britain which i feel is sick in parts but can appreciate this is enjoyed by lots of people who have a different opinon - Leave him alone, its only entertainment!!!

The person who has just writen the extra long message obviously has nothing better to do with there time but to moan!! get your self a digital receiver and then you'll have over 30 other channels to switch over to. Jonathan Ross is an excellent host and very funny, so what if he took a joke to far who hasn't in life. The amount of bull crap the papers make up and the amount of lives they have ruined, pick on them, or the government for wasting tax payers money!!!!

He makes all these remarks and quotes and always says sorry, but he obviously dosent mean it. I think he should get saked and pay a fine.
Posted by: Ciara | 26 January 2009 at 17:24
thats just how he is, makes me laugh.

If I had a choice to buy a BBC licence or not I would not why should our hard earnt cash be spent on idiots but we do not have a choice. It is about time has customers we could walk away from such rubbish.

Anyone who thinks that comment was offensive needs to get out more and grow up - how pathetic do you need to prove you are to the world.
Get off the band wagon and have your own views not the views forced into you by the gutter press.
He doesn't deserve this sort of abuse, clearly jealous people wnat him to lose his job - just go away with your petty thoughts.
Ross has been a part of TV culture for so many years and has done wonderful Tv and radio - leave the poor bloke alone. Concentrate on genuine people who offend Chris Moyles anyone?

Go, Please just go. Arrogant over-rated, over-paid, big head!!
Posted by: louise | 26 January 2009 at 17:19
I cannot believe he is still working we do not pay our tv/radio licence for him to be so rude My mother suffered with alzheimer and I would have gone mad if he spoke about my mother like that
Posted by: chris moore | 26 January 2009 at 17:19
Yes he should be sacked! he earns far too much and what does he do! I cannot understand the BBC if he worked for me he would be gone by now and on the "dole" as are so many hard working talented people. The quicker he is removed the better. The BBC must realise that they took on an idiot with no skills, give other young people a chance, I bet they would not ask for as much money as they are wasting on this man with no skills and no talent! oh I do feel better now!!!
Posted by: maddy | 26 January 2009 at 17:17
It's about time that the BBC got rid of this grubby little man.
Posted by: Lancelot | 26 January 2009 at 17:17
this is madness, nobody will be able to say a word soon,im sick and tired of hearing about it,are there not more important issues in the world today.
Posted by: m | 26 January 2009 at 17:16
its not a question of "is he worth the money" or whether you like him or not. The question is did he cause offence to the individual or the family. As he didnt identify the person and the only person who knew the identity was his co-host the answer is a big NO. The people who caused the offence was the press for finding the person and then goading the family into a response that would sell there papers. i bet its the first time that most of these hacks have been awake for Ross's breakfast show.

nice to see the daily mail focussing on news items of national interest.
Posted by: lapin-rouge | 26 January 2009 at 17:14
Why should I turn off when I have paid my licence fee? He was a funny man once but fame has turned him into an egotistical moron who thinks he is above every one and every common speck of decency this country ought to have. I cannot see how he can be called entertaining. He is offensive, rude and self centered. A shadow of his former funny self which got him where he is today. Perhaps he should stop believing the hangers on who tell him how good he is and listen to the people who pay his inflated and unearned salary.

Sad really that the poster of this article was sitting with a watch waiting to time, to the exact minute and second when he would make what she feels was his first mistake.
Get a life. If you do not like Johnathon Ross then like me don't watch. Its easy. You just change channel, switch off or go out for a change.
Any bets on how long, to the nearest minute and second, it will take the poster of the original article to respond.
Posted by: Tony | 26 January 2009 at 17:13
who gives a toss?
Posted by: lapin-rouge | 26 January 2009 at 17:12
I wouldn't pay him my licence fee, much less what he does get. He should go: he is an embarrasement.
Posted by: Michael Booth | 26 January 2009 at 17:11
For God sake GO. He is Over paid, over sexed & over rated.
Posted by: REDJON | 26 January 2009 at 17:10
Get with the times people this is the now not the past humour and if don't like it turn over.
He not here to please every one get a life ?
Posted by: Ian Kennett | 26 January 2009 at 17:08
The man does not have a sense of humour just an unending stream of insults. If you want to know just how "funny" he is I suggest you ask Andrew Sachs, or his grand-daughter or any one else who's come into range of his "Gatling gun" humour. He is a loose cannon under the misguided illusion that anything that gets a laugh is justified even if it's an insult at someone else's expense. It's now time the BBC had a rethink about wasting so much of our money (HARD earned money) to pay for people like this. I for one would like to see Ross go (along with one or two other so-called talented BBC presenters). Or keep Ross and his kind and just get rid of the License Fee, that way we'll all be happy because we'll have no reason to complain.
Posted by: Dave T | 26 January 2009 at 17:07
Simple solution if you don't like him don't watch/listen to him!
The whole host of complaints which resulted in him being suspended in the first place didn't come from listeners of the show but came from people who had read about it in the papers. It just goes to show that there are a large number of people out there who aren't happy unless they are complaining about something.
Posted by: Andy | 26 January 2009 at 17:03
he is an entertainer who makes people laugh & should stay.
Posted by: tony siddiq | 26 January 2009 at 17:03
To all those saying "if you don't like it, don't listen" I don't pay my licence fee to have my TV/radio switched off when I want to be entertained.
He used to be funny back on channel 4 (perhaps a more suitable home for him) but now he thinks he is so great he can walk all over the general public. He is meant to be interviewing guests on his TV programme but always turns the conversation back to himself.
As has been said, there are far more talented presenters out there - get rid of Ross.
Posted by: mejustme | 26 January 2009 at 16:58
How much is he worth???? Ask a man in the street just going to sign on the dole what he is worth, & he makes jibes like he does for a living. Shame on him. At least the other idiot that had the common sense at least to walk.
Posted by: Ged | 26 January 2009 at 16:58
Must GO,
Posted by: Ron H | 26 January 2009 at 16:58
I care >..< this much.
Posted by: Andrew | 26 January 2009 at 16:58
No he should not be sacked. If you dont like the humour, turn off! What he did was out of order but he didnt murder anyone. Poor sod wont be able to pick his nose now without someone commenting on it.
Posted by: jackie edwards | 26 January 2009 at 16:57
How pathetic that this talented, funny guy is having his every word scrutinised to try and make headlines. What a loss it will be for entertainment if we end up losing him from our screens. Leave him alone and let him do what he does best - interviewing people and making them and us laugh!!
Posted by: Paul Stuart | 26 January 2009 at 16:54
Get over it - if you don't like it, don't listen.......it's very very simple (rather like the idiots who complain about this sort of thing!)
