Britney and Posh: one out, one in...

First, the bad news... After her whistle-stop tour of Europe - and not-quite-as-triumphant-as-it-could-have-been performance on The X Factor - Britney Spears has jetted back to the US.

But before she headed home, the pop princess - who turns 27 tomorrow - did stop off at London's G-A-Y, where she indulged in a "meet and greet" with a handful of fans in the club's VIP area.

And they must have known she was coming because they baked a cake:

As you can see, the club was packed to the rafters - partly because false rumours had been circulating that Britters would perform on stage. But she obviously wanted to give her voice a rest after The X Factor (ahem!).

Anyway, now for the good news... Britney may have flown home but the paparazzi won't be left twiddling their thumbs for very long. The reason? Victoria Beckham's back in the UK:

Mrs B flew into Heathrow in the early hours of London, ready to launch her brand new dress collection. Oh happy day!

I could hardly hear Britney's performance for the sound of her car running outside the back door of the stage. Does Dermot think we really believe she watched the performances?

Why does Posh keep wearing ridiculous sunglasses? Doesn't she have any proper friends any more who could tell her how unattractive they make her?
