Excuse me for being dim but I just don't get the thinking behind US Hallowe'en parties.
I thought you were supposed to get dressed up as something really scary - a ghost, ghoul or Sarah Palin, for example. But it seems most celebrities' fancy dress outfits are more lairy than scary.
An example? Here's the usually too-cool-for-school fashionista Gwen Stefani attending a West Hollywood Hallowe'en knees-up dressed as - wait for it! - a fried egg. How terrifying!
Husband Gavin Rossdale is carrying his costume rather than wearing it, so I can't really tell what it is. A giant rasher of streaky bacon perhaps?
Still, it's nice to see Gwen come out of her shell for once, isn't it? (Sorry!)
