Wanna be like Paris?
Posted by Jane Murphy

Oh dear - what is the world coming to? (At this point, please imagine me folding my arms beneath my non-existent bosom and shaking my head slowly from side to side.)
Apparently, one in seven British 16 to 21-year-olds wants to be "famous for being famous" like Paris Hilton. According to a new survey by Alliance & Leicester, "celebrity" is the third most popular career choice after singer/musician and TV star.
Only 13% of respondents wanted to be teachers, 12% doctors and 11% lawyers.
But why would you want to be Paris? OK, there's the seemingly bottomless pit of money and the endless swanning round swanky locations - but that's not really a career choice, is it? It's all to do with wealth and privilege and has very little to do with hard work or talent.
And if you're going to be inspired by someone in the public eye, surely it makes more sense to aspire to be an Olympic athlete, a crusading chef or an award-winning actor.
So be honest! Who would you rather be? Paris Hilton or Olympic double gold medallist Rebecca Adlington? Calum Best or Jamie Oliver? Tell us here.

we are talking about the british general public here!!!
doing nothing, and making loads of video's for loads of money should like a good deal to me!!!
as much as a olympic athelete should be people to look up to, that take commitment and dedication to your sport...
are people going to do this when they can get handouts for being famous and doing nothing!!!

I can understand were you are coming from "smile"! but she has no talent! as far as her music thing is going, flinging yourself round a beach in a bikini and throwing yourselg on a fit man, is not called talent! as far as her fragrance goes, she totally given up on that! and her new shoe range that she brought out, i haven't heard of that for a while!
