Generation Paris?

Mothers – do you want your children to turn into Paris Hilton? No? Then it’s time to act fast.
A list of the 10 biggest celeb role models released today puts our Paris at a scarily respectable sixth place.
Does this mean making a smutty video should be on the school curriculum? How about marketing dodgy perfume, making poor pop records and driving offences? I think not.
Posh and Becks topped the list, with more than half of teachers saying schoolkids wanted to be like the showbiz couple. Keep on skipping the homework and I’m sure your dream can come true, kids.
Elsewhere on the list, David Tennant comes in at No.5 (I’d like to see the school careers adviser fielding enquiries about becoming a time lord). And the Sugababes – including the ever-charming Amelle Berrebah, of course – make it to No.8.
Says shadow schools minister Nick Gibb, of the notoriously upstanding Tory party: “It tells you something about our schools when Paris Hilton is a role model, but JK Rowling isn't.”
Tsk. I’m inclined to agree – when I was a kid, I just wanted to be a train driver. What is the world coming to?
So who do you think should be the perfect role model for our kids?

how can paris hilton be a role model for everyone across the world? just because her face is splashed across every news tabloid and celeb magazine doesnt mean that she affects EVERYONE across the world. I would be surprised to see alot of non-american role models in this list. this list just shows how celebs will cling to anything to proclaim fame. I cant believe Posh and Becks are on the list, all children cant expect to copy off their lifestyle, not only would that be an impossible lifestyle to replicate but if every child tries to do it then it would just be stupid and humourous to watch thousands of children claiming to have come from a washed up girl bad and marry a football player.
Paris hilton cant be a role model, how was she even considered after going into jail and speeding.
sure the rich and famous lifestyle excites even me but there are others ways to achieve it, besides paris was already rich to begin with. If she didnt break the law she would just be another rich person.

What about Jordan (Katie Price), talk about great role models - HA! If screwing the entire football team and showing tits on page three makes for a great role model, bring it on, any of us can do that!!! How about Britney, Madonna, Jade Goody, all the same, a dime a dozen.

It mainly because kids see the riches and fame that comes with the likes of lovely Paris and they see that as an easy way out perhaps.

Oh come on Paris' perfume was excellent and those Harry Potter books - well who reads those? Seriously though, Paris' single was pretty catchy but she's hardly a role model. Have you seen that clip of her on David Letterman. He makes her look as stupid as she probably is. As for role models - I'm stumped.
