Paris is worth it

Paris Hilton has turned being famous for nothing into an art form – but her latest scoop is a new high in her celebrity career.

Rumour has it she’ll be earning $1m by simply turning up to a party at Las Vegas nightclub LAX on New Year’s Eve. Yes, that’s right, she’s being paid to party.

An “insider” tells US rag In Touch: “Paris is receiving the biggest payday ever for a one-night appearance in Vegas. Nobody draws a crowd like she does.” Not since a hungry tiger put paid to Siegfried & Roy’s double act, any hoo.

As hostess at the club, the heiress replaces her old pal Lindsay Lohan, who pulled out earlier this week citing post-rehab sobriety concerns, i.e. the bar staff weren’t prepared to hide the bubbly.

So let’s hear it for Hilton. She’s had a rough year, what with prison and talking about going to Rwanda to do good deeds but not actually doing it, so no doubt she’s worth every penny.

Why is it that if anyone else launched their own perfume and fashion ranges to great success that they'd be regarded as businesswoman, yet "the great expert on all things(ha!)" has decided that this means nothing?

Also why cast someone who so blatantly can't act in a film just to kill them off (supposedly meaning that anyone that doesn't survive the end credits of a film can't act)? And why would she continue to be cast in movies like The Hottie And The Nottie and Repo: The Genetic Opera (where the makers freely admit to haveing the same stupid preconceptions of Paris as the average hater BEFORE she auditioned)? Alas I have too much IQ and too little bias against Paris to answer this conundrum, so I'll have to leave it to the sheep and their victorian values, hypocrisy, minsinformation and petty jealousy.

Paris Hilton is always more good natured, sweet, sexy, beautiful, talented and entertaining than the people who make a career of lashing out at her. It's easy to disprove hater's bigotry - but why bother? They'll always cling to it. I have only one thing to say to the sheep that insult her and join in with second hand opinions of her at ever turn - BAHHHHHH!

The reason Paris's trip to Rwanda was postponed was because the organisation Playing For Good, that Paris is working with, decided to postpone. Paris is still up for it and it's still on the cards for 2008. Of course I wouldn't expect sites like this or haters to actually *gasp* do a little research (they weren't even interested in the trip until it got postponed in the first place - just so they could gripe and fling mud at Paris).

Also, if a model/reality star/writer/actress/singer/fashion designer/businesswoman is "famous for nothing" then who exactly is famous for something then? Obviously none of these career paths are any reason for anyone to be famous individually or collectively.
