The world's least sexy?

Sometimes, when I'm taking a break from stalking Britney Spears and spying on Victoria Beckham, I like to stroll round the streets of Penge, pretending to be Sarah Jessica Parker in the opening credits of Sex and the City.

I get dressed up in the most ridiculous mismatched clothes I can find - an off-the-shoulder ballgown worn with thigh-length golf socks and a pair of moonboots, for example - then wander up and down the high street, gazing in awe at the buildings and imagining I can see full-length posters of me-me-me on the side of the 197 bus to Peckham. It makes me feel really attractive and special.

But - hang on! - what's this? Apparently, SJP has just been voted the world's least sexy woman. That's right: all that careful styling has gone to waste because the readers of Maxim magazine don't rate her. Still, the SATC star was given a close run for her money by Amy Winehouse, who was described as having a "rat's nest mane and lashes that look like surgically attached bats." Britney and Madonna also made an appearance in the poll.

So are Maxim's readers right? Are Sarah and Amy really the world's unsexiest women, or would someone else get your vote? And who'd top your list of unsexy men? Post your comment below...

OK she is not the most beautiful women in the world, but is she really the uglyist???!?!?!??! i dont think so. In fact i think she is rather stunning, and has a great personality.

I think SJP is beautiful, although I'm relieved to see she finally removed the mole (what took so long?) Not only does she look great for her age, but she isn't running around all surgically enhanced, like sharon stone, madonna, demi moore, et. which makes her a true role model. More importantly, she has a beautiful personality, as well.

I think it's very unfair saying SJP is the most unsexy woman in the world. She is an actress not some Page Three wanabee who's only famous for her silicone chest. She isn't the most beautiful woman in the world perhaps but there is a middle ground somewhere. She is in her forties for pitys sake and appears to be untouched by surgery unlike most of her peers. The problem is that she's in a program about sex, and has produced a perfume called "Lovely". That's asking for contrary opinions at the best of times, but quite frankly the advert is vomit-inducing (forget the face, check out the wart). Portraying herself as sexy and lovely whe she is extremely unattractive, she deserves the ridicule she gets. I'm not good-looking, but I'm not trying to make money pretending I am.

What I want to know is what gives these people the right to condemn and vilify women the way they do. Is it not enough that we have many celebrities taking drugs, falling out of nightclubs drunk and getting into trouble with the law. These are some of the most beautiful women in the world that are doing these things. SJP does not do any of these things that we know of. She should be left alone. It is none of anyone elses business to comment on whether she is sexy or not. Beauty is supposed to be only skin deep isn't it. Perhaps this woman has a great personality, a great talent, she is married and has been for some time with a child, she hasn't had hger kids taken away, she's not behind bars, we don't see her sniffing white powder through rolled up notes so surely that makes her beautiful in itself. Some men prefer curves, some men prefer redheads, some men prefer blondes, some men prefer larger women, who are we to say what is sexy and what is not. About time these people laid off with comments like this.

SJP might not be the typical babe - but she has an appeal. To me she looks natural yet quirky and sassy. it's not all about big boobs, bleached hair, orange skin and black eyeliner.
Plus anyone with an ounce of depth will know that being sexy has sod all to do with obvious looks. It's more sutble than that . But i guess the types that 'read' lads mags wont understand that.

Men think of women as objects / possessions / status symbols and men's magazines pander to this obsessive tendency and encourage it, by providing lists of who is the best looking and who has the best backside etc etc it's like talking about cars to them, like which one has a V8 engine, which one has the most BHP - it's soooo fricking tedious. Why dance to that tune?

The thing is, women objectify other women, because they're so worried about how they compare with their fellow woman and the unit of comparison is how much of a desireable object they are to a man, so we are letting men define how we feel about ourselves. Bitching about each other is usually the result (they divide us and rule) and all it would take to stop this is for a few women to just not play ball.

I know some women would argue that they can level the playing field by objectifying men - but they're wrong, we aren't wired the same way they are; why fake the kind of aggressive, predatory behaviour of a man to try and get even?

If men want to objectify women, leave them to it - ignore them, leave them alone. They are the ones that will self-destruct without us - feminity is power - OWN IT.
