Sylvia shown the door

Sylviahome200270608So the Big Brother bunny boiler has become the first housemate to be evicted. Surprised?

No, us neither. The 1000-strong chorus of "GET SYLVIA OUT!" from outside the house kind of suggested the Great British Public wasn't entirely on her side.

Sylvia's big day was totally overshadowed by Dennis's removal from the house after spitting in Mohamed's face earlier - the full, gory details of which accounted for pretty much all of tonight's show.

However, in the end the public vote sealed sly Sylvia's fate, leaving greedy Mo in the house to fight another day.

Sylvia had the dubious honour of collecting a whopping 92% of the vote. In her interview she said of her outrageous flirting with Stu that she "can't believe I did all of that." Hmmm... handy it was all captured on camera, then.

So, do you think Sylvia deserved to go? And how do you think the housemates will cope with the dramatic goings on of the last 24 hours?

Dennis gets the axe

Bb9_dennis_27jun08_wen_350_2

So, first 'orrible Alex de Gale was shown the door by Big Brother for bullying, now flambouyant Scottish dancer Dennis has followed her - for spitting on Mohamed.

It all kicked off in the early hours of this morning, following a nasty cider-fuelled row. ""Mo got up in my face and said, 'Don't tell me to shut up' and that's when I spat at him in his face" said Dennis. Well, that's alright then Dennis.

Sylvia and Mohamed probably thought they might avoid tonight's vote as a result - but not so. The eviction will go ahead as planned.

So, what do you think? Was Big Brother right to give Dennis the boot? Or is Big Brother being a bit harsh this year? Tell us what you think below.

Big Brother caption competition

That Mario guy is really creative, don't you think? His extreme work-out routine has so far included towel-pulling, collective sweating and now, well, whatever you call this:

Mario(C) Wenn

Go, on see if you can beat Mario and come up with a caption for this picture. You know you want to.

A bunny boiler?

Sylvia (C) Wenn

Sylvia is getting a reputation for herself as the House bunny boiler after making a move on Dale.

The 21-year-old - who already tried to make a move on hunky newcomer Stu - asked pal Jen's permission to make a move on Dale. Sylvia - whose advances were rejected by Stu - pulled Jen aside and told her she fancied Dale, saying she thought he looked "hot" during the task. Are you following?

She didn't waste any time in flirting with Dale, linking arms with him and touching his chest. Jen spoke of her shock with imprisoned Dennis and Darnell, but Dennis reassured her Dale only has eyes for her.

He told the pretty housemate: "Dale would turn her down.

"It's just because she wants to be saved ... It's just for a magazine deal. That thing where she's split you up." And Dennis' predictions were confirmed as Dale later told the jailbirds that Jen is the only girl for him. He confided: "I have to ignore it. The whole nation knows I like Jen.

"I wouldn't because I don't like her. It's only linking, but for God's sake!"

But Sylvia told former love interest Stu that her affection for Dale was a joke. She told him: "I made a joke about fancying someone in here today and now they're looking at me really weird. They actually think it's true but it's not."

What do you make of it all? We're dying to hear your confessions...

Should Mikey leave the house?

Mikey (C) Wenn

Looks like Jennifer and Sylvia want Mikey out of the house asap. The reason? They are both fed up with his incessant stream of "sexist and derogatory" remarks. Let us explain.

Take Monday, for example. Both Jennifer and Sylvia were learning a few stretching techniques from Dennis when Mikey walked into the room. He proceeded to make a sexual comment about how the ladies were "spreading their legs" (how did he know?). Jennifer later complained to Dale: "He goes on like a 12-year-old and says something horrible then laughs like it's funny but it's not, it's derogatory.

"He says things about women that it would be unacceptable for other men to say in here."

And even Mario – who normally looks after the blind radio producer - felt the need to interfere, warning Mikey to be careful about upsetting the female housemates.

But Mikey was having none of that: "It's not like they're 15, they're 21-years-old."

Who’s right? Were Mikey’s remarks really that offensive or are the girls slightly over-sensitive? Is his behaviour as despicable as Alexandra’s for example? Questions, questions, questions…. What’s your view?

Jennifer confronts Stuart

Jennifer and Stuart © Wenn

Jennifer grew so fed up with suspecting Stuart is part of a sneaky plot, she decided to confront the new arrival directly.

Ever since the 25-year-old stepped foot in the house last Friday, the housemates have been suspicious of the hunk.

And after quizzing Sylvia to determine if she is in a secret relationship as part of a task, Jennifer decided to grill Stuart himself - and find out the truth once and for all.

"When you first came in there was an instant connection with Sylvia," explained Jennifer, "and then you were in the bath together."

"Has no one done that?" asked Stuart, seeming genuinely shocked.

"What?" replied Jennifer. "Had a bath together?" said Stuart.

"Well, I've not had a bath with Dale," said Jennifer, referring to her Liverpudlian "friend".

"That bath is like a Jacuzzi though! Isn't it?" Stuart pleaded.

Jennifer went on to reveal she had only shared a bath with another housemate, Sylvia, once - and it was a far from romantic affair.

"She started shaving her legs and I got out," Jennifer deadpanned.

"That is gonna look so bad," Stuart moaned. "I can't believe I've just come in and got in the bath with a girl on my first day."

Jennifer proceeded to confirm the worst news of all: "Everyone's thinking the same thing. "People think you're in a secret relationship. It's only natural that people are going to assume that."

Is it just us or has the whole Stuart affair become tedious? Let us know!

Are they for real?

Lisa and Mario (C) Wenn

If only Lisa and Mario knew what the crowds think of them every time their faces grace our screens during the live shows...

Last Friday when Davina mocked Mario's cookie-eating habits, the crowds outside the Big Brother complex were probably no less vicious and aggressive than those witnessing the gladiators' fights in ancient Rome.

But, apart from the masticating noises, there are a few “extra” bits about Mario and Lisa, which make quite a few BB viewers want to drown the pair in the house pool.

For example, do we need to put up with their constant snogging, cuddling and bathing together? Then there's the issue of daily workouts in the garden. Mario's words of “wisdom” in a house full of hyperactive, oversexed people barely in their twenties also grate a bit.

And obviously, there's also Lisa's permanently smug/bored/botoxed (delete as appropriate) face.

But hang on, maybe we're just too cruel on them! Maybe they’re just normal people, behaving in a normal way. Maybe, just maybe, we should be celebrating their genuine love and affection for each other – rather than putting the boot in.

Let us know what you think below.

Say hi to...

Stu (C) PA STUART! He is the new 'replacement' housemate, who entered the house late on Friday night. He arrived on a motorbike and was welcomed by a mixture of booing and cheering. OK, so who IS Stuart then?

He is a 24 year-old personal trainer and rates himself eight out of ten for attractiveness. Stuart is single at the moment and, as he declared, he's never been in love. Why? Possibly because he "loves himself too much". But he wants to meet a girl of his dreams.

Stu claims he is straight, but people often ask him whether he's gay. *cough*. He allegedly did some nude modelling in the past. Naughty, naughty....

But anyway, Sylvia wanted some eye candy in the houseand she got some. She nearly fainted when Stu walked into the house just before 11pm. But nothing beats the look on Jennifer's face. It was a mixture of ecstasy and..., well, actually it was pure ecstasy.

The same cannot be said about Dale. Luckily he didn't hear Stuart's confession from his audition tape: "I don't get on with lads that well"

Stuart is in (he's immune from next week's nominations, by the way), settling in nicely, but what do you think of him? Leave your comments below.

Davina interviews Alexandra

Alex (C) Wenn Unless you've spent the past few days on Mars, you probably know by now that Alex was removed from the house by Big Brother and tonight's eviction was cancelled (Mario, you lucky  b*****d!).

But just when you thought you'd never have to look at the bully's face again, Channel 4 decided to give her a prime time slot on Friday night. Wicked!

Brave Davina interviewed Alex before the live show, presumably to spare her from the baying crowd.

Alex said she'd 'done Heat magazine'. Wow. When presented with the the infamous footage in which she threatened housemates with her 'gang' she shook her head. She blamed "the editing". Sure, darling.

Alexandra also denied threatening the housemates and blamed Big Brother producers for presenting her in an unfavourable light.

Davina also showed Alex some footage from the Diary Room, in which other housemates accused her of making everybody feel uneasy, being a bully and being a "manipulative character".

"I understand what you're saying, but my theory is - if you've got a problem with somebody, tell him," Alexandra defended her behaviour. And then went on to declare: "It's natural for me to defend myself". Pity Davina never explained to her the difference between the words defence and attack.

"I've learned that I'm much more hot-headed that I ever thought," concluded Alex. "Hot-headed"? This must be the understatement of the year.

The bully is gone, we declare this infamous chapter in the Big Brother history closed for good.

Goodbye Alex, hello...?

Posted by Julie Carson

Bb_eyeSo Alex has got the boot, Big Brother has promised us a new housemate tonight - and we can't wait.

The newbie's arrival hasn't been confirmed to the housemates, but it hasn't stopped them having their suspicions, with Rebecca and Luke trying to predict just who will be joining them.

If Rebecca's correct, our screens will be graced by someone from Ireland, while Luke reckons whoever it is will be really loud, confrontational and they'll all hate him or her. Sorry Luke, but I'm not sure they'll be sending Alex back into the house just yet.

If BB really wanted to stir things up, he could always send in Dale's girlfriend. Now that really would be worth watching.

So, what do you reckon? Tell us your predictions for this evening’s new arrival. Post your comments below

7 PM UPDATE:

This just in from Channel 4 - a few 'hints' about the new housemate:

- They've done nude modelling in the past

- The most insulting thing anyone could do is to call them ugly

- They have a rather odd shaving habit

- They have a five-year-old daughter

- They hate people touching their nose

- They'd rate themselves eight out of ten for attractiveness

- They're single at the moment, for the first time ever

- They don't read books

- They think people will either love or hate them

- Their friends describe them as "a daft cheeky tart and flirt"

We'll reveal the identity of the new housemate on this blog later tonight, so stay tuned!
