Pauline's quirk

Posted by Will Parkhouse

Brilliant! Big Brother have sent in Pauline, a chirpy and attractive evictee from the Australian Big Brother house, to join our lot!

Except that Pauline isn’t really Australian or called Pauline, nor has she darkened the doors of a BB house before – she’s a British actress called Thaila (pronounced "Tyler", as in "Tyler Durden", conspiracy fans). Triple brilliant!

Thaila (c) Rex 2007Will the group cotton on? Several flaws to the plan have already been identified by the BB analysts.

Firstly, Brian claims to have watched every single episode of every Big Brother from every country ever. Surely he’ll notice that there was no ‘Pauline’ in the Australian version of the show? Er, no: Brian doesn’t go outside because he thinks the sky is going to fall on his head, remember?

Secondly, a couple of commenters have suggested that Thaila and Ziggy know each other already from playing at the same gigs. She’s denied it (on BBLB), which makes sense - if I’d been in Northern Line, I would have sprinted home after every show to avoid further humiliation.

Thirdly, Thaila’s been on telly before, having appeared in Channel 4’s Balls of Steel. Surely she’ll be recognised? Wow, you’re right, why did they pick someone from one of the most popular TV entertainment shows of all time? They’ll rip her cunning guise apart instantly!

No, Pauline’s worst enemy is going to be Thaila herself. Apparently she’s already started to mess around by pretending she’s psychic. On the evidence so far, because she’s concentrating so hard on the accent, the name (seriously, “Pauline”? What was she thinking?) and how to put herself across, it honestly looks like her mind is somewhere else. And not in a Shabnam-type way.

I loved Thaila on Diary Room Uncut the other day, she was really funny when she was mocking herself and her accent! It was great! They should have kept her in their longer as Thaila, she would be a really good housemate!

She's doing BBBM this week though, last nights was good, and I hope the rest of the week will be the same!

thalia is fit and brightens up the show,it was getting very boring so her going in must be a plus!

I just wish Big Brother could've sent a plant in there that knew how to out-argue and out-flirt Charley.
Firework night would surely have come early if that someone was able to out-dress anything Charley could put on and walk up to any guy Charley's flirting with with and blatantly 'steal' him away.
Charley loves herself so much she couldn't bear to think anyone could out-raunch her - and then go on to beat her in the resulting argument too. Wicked!

i think it is so gay she is going to befind out by the house mates

Oh ok. yeah that makes more sense. thanks for that!

Yeah, that Brian bit was good. I just think that if they guess she's a plant straight away, it'll be a bit of a missed opportunity.

btw, if they guess she's a plant, they win the shopping budget, not lose it.

jo

No, not really Will.. she's in there for such a short time it's funnier to mess things up quickly. Anyway if she hadn't had to say she was psychic, we would have missed Charlie asking Pauline whether she thought the person who'd bitten the burger was trendy and good looking, as well as arguementative, and then going outside and telling Brain of Britain Brian that Pauline had guessed everything about her, even that she was trendy! Brian recalled Pauline saying that the burger biter 'liked to get her tits out'... I didn't remember that either from the psychic reading. Really funny.Paulines accent is a bit patchy, and Carol is on to her, I reckon they'll guess and lose their shopping budget.

Will

Yeah, well done Kate, saw that on the show last night after I posted. The clip I saw yesterday looked like she was doing it off her own bat.

Admit it though, the psychic thing was totally stupid - they should give her a day or two to settle in a bit before they start messing with the housemates, imo.

Kate

Duh! Will Parkhouse, the 'Orange Editor' obviously doesn't watch BB, so why bother posting the blog? The stunt has been set up by BB and Thaila has instructions to follow....like, 'pretend you're psychic'.....
