Too many women spoil the house

Who on earth decided it would be a good idea to have an entire house full of women? I assume the Powers That Be at Big Brother thought it would be a good way of attracting straight men to the show (its principle audience currently being girls and gays), but I doubt even Wayne Rooney would be turned on by the idea of bisexual Carole and lesbian Nicky getting it on.
From a female perspective, there’s nothing less appealing than watching 11 women squawking at one another, looking cattily at each others’ thighs, and jostling for psychological supremacy. And that's not just my opinion. We managed to watch five minutes of the Big Brother live feed when we got back from the pub, before The Boy insisted I switch it off, claiming it was giving him a headache. I was more than happy to oblige.
I know – every season, we marvel at the awfulness of the housemates as they arrive, but are won over by them within a few short days. That said, this lot seem particularly unlikeable – and as usual, guaranteed to give us women a bad name, since they appear to have been selected either for their militant political views, or because they can be relied on to bare all/sex up another housemate on screen. Because, of course, all women are either rampant feminists or fame-hungry slappers – in the one-dimensional Big Brother world, anyway.
Apart from Tracey. What can we say about Tracey? Well, the self-proclaimed “raver” may look like a gurning Robert de Niro in a pink wig, and say things like “ave it!” with no sense of irony (or awareness that it’s no longer 1989) whatsoever, but at least she’s got a job. Let’s focus on the positives, shall we?
So, what has BB done with the men this year? Well, I don’t believe they’re planning on making it an all-female show this year (not with only one lesbian in the house, anyway) so either the blokes have been squirreled away in a secret house – yawn, that’s, like, so over – or they’re planning on introducing them one by one. Possibly one of the female contestants will have to mate with each new male arrival, then eat him, black widow-style. Now, that I’d watch!

the bottom line is the idea and the 1984 book is fantastic. only a bunch of elitist arrogant fools runing the show could destroy it
simply pick genuinely interesting and several normalish half intelligent people from a variety of life , let relationships genuinely develop, and it'll be a great show again
also if these bosses think theyre so revolutionary and brave? where is the disabled person or person in a wheelchair. in 8 yrs of both Big brothers and junior big brother weve seen over 150 people an no really disabled or wheelchair people. that is NOT representative of the UK

Ive watched BB religiously every yr, but not this yr. Who wants to watch a bunch of babbling wannabe bitches! What was BB thinking of, do they really think its entertainment. Davina seemed so excited about all girls, is she in need of a brain transplant! BB has spoilt what is usually a great show. Can't believe people actually get paid for putting this trash together.

all women is not working, i think you need the men to keep things a bit calmer, the girls just seem to scream and jump up and down. it is not plesent to watch. i will give it another couple of nights and if there is no improvment it will go off..............

At the end of the day, they're on serise eight now, and they're running out of ways to make it different from the previous years.
Having the house with just girls for 2ish days (I'm not sure exactly how long it was) shouldn't really be merit a huge discussion.
I don't think there was any alterior motive behind it at all, just them trying to add a new twist to an aging format of reality TV.
What they need to understand is, no matter what controversy happens surrounding the show, it still has a huge fan base as demonstraited by the ratings of the first show (something like eight million views?).
All that talk about there being no more Big Brother was stupid. Just because some people were offended by the last CBB. At the end of the day, it is meant to be a social experiment, and it is meant to be a cross-section of the British public who will interact together and make people tune in. I've gone a bit off topic there, but, yeah. The all girls was apparently a good idea looking at how many people, including myself are talking about it. :]

i've watched bb religiously since bb1 but my god what are they thinking of?? i normaly flip with anyone who speaks while it's on but last night i sat talking on the phone for the whole hour. what a load of rubbish. i hope some fella's go in and tell all them silly cow's to put a sock in it!
